Ched Evans

Ched Evans is all over the news after his release from prison. He was convicted of rape which is a horrendous crime. Rumour has it that he will rejoin Sheffield Utd.

My question: Would you take him back if he was a Pie?

without getting into a debate on the rights and wrongs....

I wouldn't like to see it happen at our club, but then do you take the line, he has served the time the system have handed out.

For me NO

There was two players involved right but only Chad was punished? I swear I recall a coloured player having done worse and bragging about it, I really don't know. He should be allowed to play but I don't want him at Notts. I wouldn't be abusive towards him but I would think very highly of his as a football now!

Nobody can undo what he did, the act itself is sickening but some people are acting like he did in the street. Both was probably drunk, he should not have done it but if hes learned and regrets it.

I feel people should leave him be.

I personally don't believe Notts fans are really in a position to take the morale high ground if you know what I mean? How many years did we spend cheering Lee Hughes?

For the record it won't bother me if Sheff Utd take him back. He's hardly the first player to come back into football out if prison and he won't be the last. How many chances did Marlon King get?

There's a difference between condoning a man's actions and giving a man a job. Like anyone else, Ched Evans will need to reintergrate into society and earn a living. It just so happens he earns a living by being quite good at football. If he was a bricklayer, nobody would be questioning weather he should be allowed back into that job

thats a point but everythings got room for discussion.

i believe if you do a crime you should pay and do the full length of time, the fact he still does not acknowledge what hes done is just sick. you put him in a position where he will become an idol is very dangerous, i do not consider this to be taking the morale high ground. i consider it being concernedΒ

Agreed. Being a (former now!) Teacher, I know the influence role models can have on youngsters. They naturally accept the person's history. Being a striker doesn't help as he will always hit goals meaning headlines.

He hasn't admitted he was wrong and probably never will. The comparison with Hughes is unfair in so much as he admitted his horrible mistake and paid a very heavy price for it time wise and mentally. Lee is a genuine guy who would go out of his way to help people in his attempt to put right the mistake. Evans can't even say sorry never mind make up for it in some way!

Should never be allowed to wear a football shirt again.

And if it was Notts with him in the same situation I'm sure alot, including me, would.send their season tickets back for a refund.
