Total utter plonker who deserves never to work on tv again imo. Well done the Beeb for making the right choice!

Jeremy Clarkson's contract will not be renewed after an "unprovoked physical attack" on a Top Gear producer, the BBC's director general has confirmed.

Tony Hall said he had "not taken this decision lightly" and recognised it would "divide opinion".

However, he added "a line has been crossed" and he "cannot condone what has happened on this occasion".

Clarkson was suspended on 10 March, following what was called a "fracas" with Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon.

The row, which took place in a Yorkshire hotel, was said to have occurred because no hot food was provided for him following a day's filming.

There cannot be one rule for one and one rule for another dictated by either rank, or public relations and commercial considerations

Lord Hall, BBC director general

I think it's pathetic how he goes from being hated to loved, the guys a utter clown who has more 'badges' than a boy scout. The only difference is the fact that Clarkson's includes the worst type of things. Racist, Bigot, Sexist, Violent etc etc

Absolute joke people have stood by him!

If I had lashed out at someone incharge of me, would anyone stand up for what I had done? No... Then again I'm not like that.

A field where dreams become reality.

Reading the account of what happened I'm surprised he wasn't reported to the police for assault!

I never liked the bloke, good riddance.

If he was in any other job, there wouldn't even be a question to if he still had the job or not. He deserved to be sacked.
