His interviews so far...

Lead me to believe we have the most potential in a manager for many, many years. I said originally it was a great idea and I hope RM will prove me right. I love his philosophy and the forward thinking. Can't wait to see the results he achieves, even with this lot.

Next season, regardless of relegation or not, will be very exciting at Meadow Lane. Of that I'm sure.

Well done Ray for sticking your neck out.

Thank God i'm not the only one Feeling a bit Quietly Confident. I Don't want to Count me Chickens...................We are Notts of course.

But so far i have a few good feelings about this appointment.

His win % suggests he's a decent manager but look behind the stats and that tells a different story. His only real success came at a club where money was no object. Even then he left for personal reasons. He under achieved at Ferenvaros, our new Hungarian friends will confirm that. He was pants in his last job.

He talks the talk but can he walk the walk? Time will tell.

Not sure he was that bad at 1860. They've got worse since he left, lot of internal politics there unfortunately.

He comes across as knowing what he is doing in his interviews.

I was initially worried about how "shifty" he seemed in the first interview on Magpie Player, however I guess he was just pushed in-front of a camera with Colin Slater before actually having finished signing the contract, so I'll let him off for that.

He certainly came across better in the interview from the training ground.

To be fair, I would be getting behind whoever was appointed manager. Let's just hope he can walk-the-walk as well as he can talk-the-talk!

2 wins in 8 games. I don't envy him his task at Notts, lose tomorrow and he's behind the 8 ball already....

I don't think you can judge by his interviews or previous win ratios because those are irrelevant to Notts County, yet it's what we see on the picture. Good managers move all around and sometimes they fail others they shine but his interviews are rather relaxed.

When he speaks about football he sounds extremely knowledgable.

Though, I hope he continues to praise the support he has and learns from them quickly, so he maintains his concept and vision of how he wants Notts to play. Playing off advice sometimes leads you down the garden path, especially when the manager knows little of that league. I think it's always best to learn but appreciate those who help that proceed.

Moniz had less time at 1860 than Craig Short had at Notts (as manager), so I don't think you can judge him on that at all.

Personally I don't get many fans' obsession with manager interviews. I barely watched any of Shaun Derry's interviews, there comes a point when you have heard it all before. What matters is what happens on the pitch. Even Gary Brazil could talk a good game.

RM does seem a bit uncomfortable behind the mike, but he's a manager, not a pundit. He seems to exude more authority than SD and GA though, and that's probably a good thing.

I only listened if I believe the manager has something to say which is of importance or interesting, for example I used to enjoy Martin Allen's but more so because of his antics - Not so much for his opinion. Shorty frustrated, as did Curle (he repeated so many words). CK tended to talk a good game, as did Derry until his demise and if fans could listen back to them, you could see where he actually lost it.

Listening to what the manager thinks and says can tell you a lot, especially if what he says doesn't happen.

You're right about the pitch, though interviews are important but perhaps not to all fans.

I was sceptical, and remain so, but so far - Moniz appears to be saying & doing the right things. Winning the players over is critical, winning over the fans over is a bit easier but equally as important.

Suspect we might avoid the drop tbh, in any event, this bloke deserves to be given a chance.

I think the hardest job is winning the fans over and continuing to please the majority of them.

Footballers just want to be playing, so provided you work with them and have some sort of respectful dialogue - I think the majority of players will come on board quickly. Any manager deserves to be backed and given time, Rome wasn't built in a day and promotion isn't formed within a year (well if you get lucky I guess it can). Yet the principles are that you have to build, unless you can splash money and that doesn't always work. Bristol City, Sheffield United, Preston and MK Dons are to be added to those who spend rather easily.

Let's hope he can continue to get everyone pulling in the same direction, that's the only way we can move forward.

I think someone should provide him lessons to speak, its all "I" and would yell at my radio if I had to listen to him. Apart from that, I agree, he speaks a good game.
