We have a new video data analyst from Cheltenham Town joining Notts.

A masters student in sports performance analysis at the University of Chichester, 22-year-old Craig has contributed a huge amount of work during his time as part of the backroom staff at Whaddon Road over the past two seasons.

His duties included filming matches and training sessions, allowing the manager to show key moments during pre-match meetings and half-time discussions, compiling information on forthcoming opponents and preparing motivational videos to be played before games.

I wonder if this will be for the first team or more for the academy, personally I think he would benefit the first team.

"Craig replaces Hannah Herbert who left her role at the club at the end of the 2014.15 season".

I didn't even hear about Hannah Herbert leaving, however this is a modern football position and it's not something I personally think is a major role but when done well it can be useful.

I am surprised by this as I also didn't know that Hannah had left.

They sure do keep things quiet when they need to be.

I don't know what sort of hours are involved with this role at Notts, but I know of other clubs both foreign and domestic that employ someone like this. They end up saving the manager a lot of time and can give good information that will help the manager.
