Scunthorpe away. There's nothing glamorous about a trip to Scunthorpe on a Tuesday night.....

Its quite close by and its a ground I haven't been to yet so I'll be making the trip but I was actually saying to a friend " no one wants a trip down to scunny" and then we get one!

I wonder how many of our fans will actually go? I think it will be one them things that those that do well, will see their fans automatically drop the 'I won't go' or 'support it attitude'. I think from my stance it will take a few seasons before I do but hey, lets hope Notts do well.

PS. Isn't it funny how we always tend to be drawn against the same sides each year?

Well there are only 17 sides we could have been put against! I quite enjoy cup games as its normally a cheap away game and a chance to see a stadium I haven't before since I rarely go to away matches but if we can beat scunny there's a very good chance we could get a premiership team

Perhaps it could be called the League Cup in the absence of a sponsor or am I missing something?

Do they think more people will go if they use a name that has never been used before and that nobody has heard of. i assumed it was a new competition.

They can't use the words "Football League" any more as they are now old and unfashionable, a bit like the word "division". Yoof like strange acronyms and blue dots now. Haven't you heard?

I still refer to leagues as divisions, but yeah it seems a trend to remove 'Division 1' etc.

I always call it the League Cup whoever the sponsors are   @Ivansneck but then I'm an old bugger and my opinion doesn't count.

Well they change the sponsor every year so you can never win! Ive only just stopped calling it the Carling cup!

@ohstanleyaborah has the efl cup sunk in yet?

Not quite! But its a stupid name! I'll be calling it the capital one cup all season! I do enjoy the competition though, it gives teams like us a chance to play a prem team
