Day 4 - I've Still Got A Bad Back

Featured Replies

Posted

I somehow injured my back at the weekend putting on my socks would you believe? An excruciating pain shot up my leg into my back, Mrs. Hateley thought I was having a heart attack.

I have been taking pain killers since then and have hardly moved from the sofa, it's starting to get me down now, how ridiculous one minute I'm as fit as a fiddle the next I'm laid on my back unable to move. I think its just a matter of resting up until it decides I've had enough torture and gets better, I'm sure if I went to the docs he would say I was doing the right thing, pain killers and rest.

The most disappointing thing is I won't be able to go to the game tonight, even if I managed to get in the car to drive there I wouldn't be able to sit in one position for 90 minutes. So cheer the lads on for me, I'll try and keep up with the score somehow, is is on magpieplayer?

Oh dammit.. I was hoping you'd feel better!! :(

I believe the Media Team will be providing coverage via the Magpie Player. Hope you feel more able to sit upright soon Tony, resting is the best thing you can do but if you don't feel any better after awhile PLEASE do see someone. At this point a doctor would give you painkillers, although they might have other suggestions if it's more long term.

Ask Mrs Hateley for a back run, you'll feel better!

Sorry to see you suffering,Tony,I know how bad  back pain can be.I would advise that if it's no better very soon that you go see the Doctor..He may very well tell you to carry on doing what you're doing but he may be able to speed your recovery up.Any immobilising injury gets us all down because apart from the pain we are otherwise fine. It's very frustrating not being able to do even the simplest thing and having to rely on others

Sorry you wont be at the match tonight(more frustration)I'll do some cheerng for you.Keep your chin up.If you feel like a moan I'm a good listener.Get well soon.

Hurry up and get better,Tony.I bet you're like Super and still try to manage by yourself. If Mrs Hateley thinks you should see a doctor ,do as she says and don't argue.I know what you men are like!

Thank you all, I will go to the doctor if it doesn't get better, I'll probably give it a week or so with the pain killers first. Whenever I go to the doctor (which is very occasionally thankfully) I end up thinking what a waste of time it was, they just tell you to carry on with what you are doing and it will get better.

I'll keep you informed of my progress, every day I go to bed and think it might be a bit better in the morning, one of these mornings I will be right hopefully.

Can you do Big Brother styled voice overs?

I don't like the show but I don't mind the voice overs, I actually find 'em funny. Don't need to speak in a Geordie accent though, that would be taking it to far! You'll be better hopefully in no time.

Ouch, hope you feel better soon mate. At least you picked up the injury when there's still a couple of weeks recovery time ahead of the new season. Would have been worse had you done it and been out of action during the season

Very slowly feeling a bit better, I can hobble a short distance without too much pain but have to sit down again after a bit.

I had a lot better nights sleep last night, that helps. I'll soon be back to fighting fitness and tormenting you again don't worry.

Glad you've been discharged that's a good sign.

Thanks Granny, I'm glad I'm keeping the old fella amused, he certainly brings a smile to my face, especially when he says he'll finish higher than me in the prediction league. :rollonfloorlaughing:

Hehe...

Mr Hateley had an accident today, very much in the fashion of @super_ram. I wonder if my dad can guess what this accident was?

It involves the garden..
