Reserved Seating?

I went to take my seat at the Rayo friendly, as I approached a steward he asked to see my ticket. I told him I knew where I was sitting and he then responded "It's reserved seating, can I see your ticket?" in a polite manner. I shown him and he pointed me up into the middle of the stand, I thought it was odd because it said row "C".

So I walked across and asked another steward, he pointed me in the direction about 8 rows less than previous steward.

He also mentioned double checking, so on the way up I asked this very kind elderly gentleman. He told me row "C" was nearer the pitch. I don't know about @super_ram but I was starting to get fed up.

Until he actually went to walk it, he apologized and explained the marker in paint had worn away.

Personally, I didn't mind him. Surely 1st or 2nd guy upon entering could have pointed me in the right direction? I think I will have to request to have my seat moved because there's no way I'm going to sit towards the back of the kop. Just a warning if you're like me and sit with other people or move around :)

I may sound picky but i don't think i'd go if i had to sit behind the goal or too high up with Ava as shes too little for going to far up and don't want to carry a buggy up all those stairs. We'll have to see where you are. Its a shame people can't sit where they want like all the other years. Theres never been a problem with everyone sitting where they wanted before now.

I would rather have unreserved seating, the trouble with reserved is that you don't know who you will be sitting next to it could be a right nutter. Luckily where I sit is nice and friendly eh @magpiejue? But I didn't know that when I bought my season ticket.

It's also a problem if I want to bring someone with me, my son sometimes comes to big matches so I would have to transfer my seat to somewhere we could sit together.

Not a fan of reserved seating for a number of reasons. Firstly I like to stand up and have a sing-song so I always make a point of going to the very back of the stand where the singers predominantly congregate so that I can stand without obstructing the view of anybody behind me. When we went to crewe on the opening day of last season we brought our tickets on the day and it happened to be reserved seating (something it did not mention on the website) so we were all split up in the ground. I dont mind sitting on my own, but its not so much fun when your sat away from your mates is it'?

I just generally find that unreserved seating causes much less bother as everyone can sit with their mates, in an area they prefer, and if they wish to they can stand. At league One level I dont see the point of reserved seating to be honest, especially with Notts. We rarely sell out an away end so whats the point? Plus our supporters are hardly known for causing trouble

Quite a few people complained at Galatasaray, so I wonder if some complains also triggered it.

Personally if someone pointed out it was their seat and that they wanted to sit there, I would get up and I think the majority of fans would. It will upset Jake, as he likes sitting with people. It would also mess up sitting with @Joe Jones as we purchase our tickets at different times, unless I purchase them and he gives me the money back which I sometimes do.

If we are going reserved the stewards will need to know where seating areas are, it's unacceptable and I don't mean to be negative or complain but they're in charge of safety, help and order.

Quite right Joe, that is one of the stewards main functions to direct people to their seats, perhaps you got some new stewards who are learning.

Does that steward who looks like Tony Blackburn still go in the Kop? I'm not joking you could mistake him for a young Tony Blackburn its an incredible likeness.

Yes, I spoke to a few times last season. He asked about my knee and was most helpful, I prefer the stewards in the kop because they talk. The only one's in the Pavis that talk, only do so to each other. Apart from one called Helen who my brother and his wife started speaking with :P

no, not bothered.

i sit where my seat says usually, so its not a problem for me. people will complain either way, so it makes sense to stop it now in my opinion before we gain a larger crowd (if) and the problem becomes harder to resolve. we do not want fans fighting over spilled drinks, we certainly dont want it to be about seating arrangements!

I thought that too Tony, If i want to go with Joe to any games and there was no seats next to him i would have to either sit somewhere else away from him(which i wouldn't do or like you said would have to exchange seats. Its a shame they have brought this rule in.

@tonyhateley Your friend said "Hello". He also told me "We could do with that Tony chap playing today".

I don't think many people sat in their reserved seats today, so even though notts were meant to be stopping it... i don't think they have properly.

I do hope it stays unreserved though, and so do most people by the looks of everywhere thats mentioned it.

I strongly disagree with reserved seating at Notts.

There is no need. We are never going to sell the place out, sit where you want.

The only thing I would say is if you turn up to one game every couple of months, be mindful not to take someones regular seat who has sat in that same seat since 1862.

That would be the only thing that would concern people, but since it rarely happens and most people can resolve that between themselves... theres really no need.

I thought reserved seating had stickers?

That's the way that makes sense to me because hardly anyone really sits where they should. The times I used to sit in my correct seat and have someone tell me it was theirs. It's amusing - Especially when you think how the people around you change when you're in the second half. People move around and I think it's not a bad thing provided people are respectful. If something kicks off or people argue, a steward should tell them where to sit.

Although you can be told to move and find someone sitting in your seat. :P

Well you thunked wrong. :)

At least they don't in the Pavis Stand. I've had to turf someone out of my seat once but when I was in the Kop it was a regular occurrence, I had a great seat behind the centre of the goal with no one in front of me because it was above an entrance so it was a popular choice. I never had any trouble over it they mostly said sorry and moved.

I remember going to a Johnstone Paint Trophy match and only the Pavis stand was open, I couldn't be bothered finding the seat on my ticket so I just sat anywhere it wasn't particuarly great seat so I just plonked myself down. There were not even 2,000 fans in the ground and someone asked me to move because it was their seat, I looked around and there were loads of empty seats around me but they wanted that one, made me smile but of course I moved as I was in the wrong.

Its not a problem when people ask nicely but its when people are rude, which is when it may become a problem... but seen as theres not been many people complaining about seating as the stadium never gets sold out.. theres no point really.
