National League North and South Suspended

What a complete shambles that is. Suspended? What exactly do they think will change in the next 2 weeks? Clubs like Dorking have said that it is 'not safe' to carry on. You can bet every penny you have that it'd be safe enough should the government have kept giving them money. Most of these clubs that were suspending their seasons with or without NL gratification are clubs around the relegation spots... what a surprise.

I fear the National League won't be far behind.

Slippery slope, once you suspend the season it will be a lot harder to get started up again. I think they will be looking at nearer six weeks and if not by then, I can see them null & voiding the whole season as there will be no hope of finishing it.

I don't see what good a two-week break does. There's certainly an argument to be had that players are putting themselves in harm's way for their (non-essential) jobs, but that won't have changed in two weeks. And if the NL decides to finish the season after all, the break will add to the fixture pile-up. They just don't know what to do.

It's certainly a difficult situation and no-one knows how it'll pan out, but the second wave wasn't exactly a surprise. Why was there no contingency planning?

think once you suspend one league, its likely that others will do. i think clubs should be going down the private vaccination route to keep football ongoing as well as it can be. issue with suspending the league is its unlikely to resolve anything. teams seem to be falling with cases and it will only re start once the league resumes unless measures are taken to safe guard the players in the first place.
