  1. It's nice having a working routine, even though I used to have to get up at 5:30am to which I would finish functions at anywhere between 12pm to 3am. I used to fall asleep on the bus going down, always waking up before the stop I needed to get off. Sometimes at weekends, I would catch the 35 bus even though it meant I had to walk further to get home. It allowed me to have a kip on the bus and then the walking would wake me up. I've never hated Mondays; usually the days feel much calmer to me. Fridays I tend to dislike because it can be a rowdy point. I hate going out when people start to celebrate the weekends by going into town. Yet today, I needed a little motivation to get up. Once I was, I'm fine.
  2. I need a weekend to get over this past one. Saturday, I hoped my brother and sister-in-law would move items to their new house. I wasn't feeling all that great, but there's no point complaining or saying you don't feel like assisting them. You just have to take it as the day comes and try to help, as moving homes is one of those things you do need support. @cheeky~k8, looked after our niece and nephew whilst myself and Jake (@super_pie) took care of loading the van they had hired with my brother. It was nice to get some fresh air, plus to catch up with them. By the time we had finished and watched the England game, I really felt like spare parts. Unfortunately due to feeling tired, we didn't go to watch the game at my dad's Jake didn't feel like it either, so it just made sense to stay at ours. This England squad doesn't want to make it easy watching, but I thought we looked brighter - just lacked chances and efforts on goal. Sunday, I did nothing but recover. ???? I have caught a cold bug, where I feel sleepy, and my noise seems to have a mind of its own. Drinking water and resting has become my best friend. Poor Kate has caught it too and she has it worse than me.
  3. It really wouldn't surprise me if Kyle Cameron doesn't leave, although I am seeing comments from St Johnstone fans which suggest they are a very defensive-focused team already. Which makes you wonder how this potential move would fit, would they see him more as an attacking minded defender? For all the sticks Cameron gets, he has always done his best by Notts, and he's the type of defender before the Reedtz arrival most would easily get behind. Things have changed and unfortunately, again I have witnessed a lot of ugly things said and thrown Cameron's way which really wouldn't surprise me if he wanted a fresh change. I think there's a good player there, it's something which I think would come with our teams further strengthening. This is why I am hoping he manages to fight for his place in the first team here; it wouldn't surprise me if St Johnstone doesn't want him to play in midfield since this is where he came through Newcastle's system playing. Again, if he stays here - I wouldn't be against seeing him given the chance to cover in midfield since defensively on paper we seem much stronger. It's just a case of if this potential deal actually happens or not.
  4. Mark Crossley used his persuasive skills to successfully convince Notts to sign Tiernan Brooks, following his release from Sheffield Wednesday's academy. The high hopes we gained for Brooks came from seeing him praised by virtually everyone. The club became wrapped up with trying to push him over the line to become our first team keeper but were never really keen to give him that chance. It's been nice to see someone, like Tiernan gain the support because he has done well. I know Rochdale fans who were keen to see him join them, which I am sure they'll be disappointed about. When Brooks managed to get into the team due to injuries etc, I think it came via a lot of fan pressure and I thought he did well. It's better for his career that he now has made the move to become a number 1 keeper, whereas here he most likely wouldn't. At least not until things changed, it's disappointing in one hand because we never give youngsters any real chance, but it's hard to deny them a chance to flourish when an opportunity comes calling.
  5. Today, I am trying to motivate myself into being productive, but I have a cold (among other things). I don't really want to rest or sleep. I hate days when I can't keep myself busy. I will probably have an early night though, as tomorrow I will be up early and helping my brother and sister-in-law move houses again. This time, Jake's helping, which will be interesting. I hope it's not a case of who moans more, him or my brother. I'll be getting on with it. Now, depending on if Jake feels "tired" or "not", we might be watching the England game with my dad. I probably will still go, as I would enjoy the company and I appreciate the change of scenery for the previous match we watched. Sunday, my niece and nephew are coming round again as my brother looks to settle into their new home and move stuff about. This will be nice!
  6. Gary Linekar was signed to replace Andy Gray, who was a much loved figure at Everton. Gray left to re-sign for Aston Villa and in that same season, he arrived at Meadow Lane on loan. Colin Harvey played a big role in Everton paying Β£800,000 to Leicester City, which was a considerable fee for him. Howard Kendall backed Linekar, who had already scored 15 goals before Christmas. The Everton fans, however, didn't take to him until he had scored against Manchester United and Sheffield Wednesday later in the season. Even at Β£300,000, it wouldn't have been a bad deal. The tribunal did make it fairer, as the fee Barcelona paid was somewhat inflated by having done well at two clubs. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gary-lineker-howard-kendall-everton-19192018 Any tribunal decision on a youngsters fee should be a fair fee, clubs who are unhappy that a player goes on to be sold at a higher profit - sometimes don't take into consideration that players can only get better with time, facilities, better coaches and players.
  7. I think Vic Centre is a good location for a shopping centre that has a bus stop and car park. I think it would be more busy than it is now if there was a train station. The surrounding area is a nightmare at times to get out of by transport. I'm glad they went with it, though I do at times think about the other station(s) thanks to people on here. Nottingham Train Station always amazed me, until they put the glass frontage in, and now I think it's been ruined. I can remember my grandfather picking @super_ram as the taxi's waited inside.
  8. This is a possibility, in addition to having signed a 26-year-old who seems to be ready to grow further as a League Two keeper. Alex Bass always seems likely to be number one for us and should grow into the role. I sympathise with Aidan Stone, but I believe Tiernan Brooks would have been a better choice as the backup for Sam Slocombe. Yet it does no purpose to have him hanging around if he won't be played regularly.
  9. If true, that reads more like a permanent deal than a loan. If the club doesn't have faith that they can work with him and help him secure the first-team place, then this is the only reason why I would support a deal which would see Tiernan Brooks leave. Otherwise, loaning him for one more season wouldn't be a bad choice, but to sell him without fully testing his ability. It would hugely disappoint me.
  10. I have watched and heard that Luke Shaw is on the verge of being given a chance after recovering from his injury. No idea if it's true, but Jude Bellingham mentioned it on ITV and Harry Kane spoke to Sky Sports News about how Shaw would be a boost. I don't think we should be pinning our hopes on him, if he does well, great, but we need to be smart about what we do. Preparation and tactically, we just need to be more robust and hard-working.
  11. What about staff like Jadon Sancho, will he be allowed to leave? Some of these silly signings could make the word of difference and enable Manchester United to retain some of the more deserved staff they intend to let go. Some budging changes are understandable, but the way they have been operating I think it's a disgrace normal people are more affected.
  12. I do think that the UK needs to take a stricter stance on its sentencing, as we are too soft on people. Giving a 13-year sentence, to allow them out after 4–5 years due to good behaviour, it does become a joke. Murderers and worse, walking out early just because they can pretend or act in occurrence within a very strict and hellish system. I can't imagine it would, but then again, prisons can be like a holiday. He needs to be deported for sure; we don't need people like him walking our streets and making lives worse.
  13. Pushing casual people to be a member seems to make sense, but it will deter the less frequent casual fans. Β£455 for a season ticket in League Two shows where the state football is heading, that's way too much. If people could afford to pay that amount, it would see the early bird price taken up and maybe the club should consider if they want more in attendance or not. Over the last few seasons we have been attracting a lot of YouTube content creators who have no interest in the club, other than to take some of the hype we have gained and to use that to get views. It's something which I don't really appreciate now, it doesn't lift the profile of Notts - it's just non fans acting like idiots throughout a game where genuine fans are trying to enjoy it themselves. Stewards and fans whilst I take crowd photos have commented on the trouble this area has caused, although I imagine the price wouldn't deter them. On one hand, I acknowledge that the club needs to make money where it can be spent on improvements but the other worries about real fans being priced out. Generally, it's not a huge deal, but I do think we need to avoid overpricing ourselves.
  14. I take accounts like this with a pinch of salt, as most care about likes rather than being factual and honest. If they have uppered their bid, it might make things more tempting - issue be, Notts may be able to attract higher off and deter the sale for now. I am included to think there's something to it, but will await to see if anything does happen.
  15. I like and rate Tom Crawford, since leaving us he has done well and the thing about Hartlepool is they rely on young upcoming players as a means to keep the wage demands down. This enables them to nurture talent; once they reach an age where they might warrant a bit more in salary it's not uncommon to see them being released. Certainly, I think Crawford could make a big impact with them and since Altrincham FC are now a League Two team. He offers them some much-needed experience, so it will be a good move for him. I'll be watching to see how he does; hopefully he becomes a fan favourite because he's a nice guy.
  16. It was never a case of if I would renew, I know this is the case for many fans and I hope to start seeing some old faces who stopped going due to all the issues. It was a bit of downer seeing this happen, although I always hoped one day the club would be well looked after. The amount of season ticket sales to-date is nothing short of amazing; it really is a positive sign for the club and shows that things are much better now. We can be thankful for many things that the Reedtz have done for Notts, but for me making Notts a club that embraces its fans and ensures their money is well spent is very rewarding to see.
  17. It must be related to IOS and Apple, I'll speak to the support team because I have seen recent comments about issues with comments from Apple based products.
  18. We both have visual signatures, they seem to be linked to your device. Does the same thing happen on your phone?
  19. Wayne Hennessey isn't a very good liar, but somehow got off it. ????
  20. Great servant for Notts, a talent that shined during his spells with us. He started his career with us, which would have seen him being aligned with one of our best strike forces. My grandfather used to say he was one of the best headers of the ball, but was just as skilful with his feet. Unfortunately, he's another connected with potential head injuries considered to be increased due to him heading the ball. He suffered from Alzheimer's disease in his later years, such a saddening end to such a brilliant person. An authentic legend of Notts County!
  21. I have great admiration for Connell Rawlinson. His decision to work with Notts and to mutually agree on his release I believe allowed this to happen. I'm not sure that he would have been Chester bound otherwise. I really hope he can settle down, get himself on the team sheet and help Chester move forward. It's a great opportunity for him.
  22. I haven't seen any clips of the damage its causing, I am mindful that I can be sensitive to this sort of thing. It's horrible, I know people are suffering, and I hope once it has ended the world can rally to support the victims so that they have the aid to get back on with their lives. If you see images, it's sometimes difficult to remove them from your end - it's horrible to see people suffering. My thoughts and well wishes go out to everyone in the path of Hurricane Beryl.
  23. Those scenes are well worth it; I am pleased and thankful not to see another club fold. Vitesse have some very passionate fans, and it's difficult to see any supporter bases like them struggle.
  24. The Gordon Banks save is my favourite moment in goalkeeping turns; it's something I have seen probably a million times. Peter Shilton also had great reflexions, in addition to David Seaman. So it's something I appreciate. I don't think the camera angel gives the Turkish keeper credit, I would love to see it straight on or from the angle of the save itself. No doubt, it's a brilliant save to pull off. @super_ram: What was the keeper who had a nickname featuring a cat called? I think he was around Banks era or before.
  25. I am seeing complaints that the game is being scheduled around Sky, instead of the fans, but to be fair, it's only 15 minutes later than it normally would have been. It could be like 8:30pm or later, which would be worse. 7:45pm for night games gives fans who work chance to go, it leaves some with time to go home and freshen up - with others just managing to make it straight from work. So, I am not bothered that it's 15 minutes later. It's good that we do have this early payday from Sky. Hopefully, we will have a strong performance because that's the main thing.
