  1. If true, that reads more like a permanent deal than a loan. If the club doesn't have faith that they can work with him and help him secure the first-team place, then this is the only reason why I would support a deal which would see Tiernan Brooks leave. Otherwise, loaning him for one more season wouldn't be a bad choice, but to sell him without fully testing his ability. It would hugely disappoint me.
  2. I have watched and heard that Luke Shaw is on the verge of being given a chance after recovering from his injury. No idea if it's true, but Jude Bellingham mentioned it on ITV and Harry Kane spoke to Sky Sports News about how Shaw would be a boost. I don't think we should be pinning our hopes on him, if he does well, great, but we need to be smart about what we do. Preparation and tactically, we just need to be more robust and hard-working.
  3. What about staff like Jadon Sancho, will he be allowed to leave? Some of these silly signings could make the word of difference and enable Manchester United to retain some of the more deserved staff they intend to let go. Some budging changes are understandable, but the way they have been operating I think it's a disgrace normal people are more affected.
  4. I do think that the UK needs to take a stricter stance on its sentencing, as we are too soft on people. Giving a 13-year sentence, to allow them out after 4–5 years due to good behaviour, it does become a joke. Murderers and worse, walking out early just because they can pretend or act in occurrence within a very strict and hellish system. I can't imagine it would, but then again, prisons can be like a holiday. He needs to be deported for sure; we don't need people like him walking our streets and making lives worse.
  5. Pushing casual people to be a member seems to make sense, but it will deter the less frequent casual fans. £455 for a season ticket in League Two shows where the state football is heading, that's way too much. If people could afford to pay that amount, it would see the early bird price taken up and maybe the club should consider if they want more in attendance or not. Over the last few seasons we have been attracting a lot of YouTube content creators who have no interest in the club, other than to take some of the hype we have gained and to use that to get views. It's something which I don't really appreciate now, it doesn't lift the profile of Notts - it's just non fans acting like idiots throughout a game where genuine fans are trying to enjoy it themselves. Stewards and fans whilst I take crowd photos have commented on the trouble this area has caused, although I imagine the price wouldn't deter them. On one hand, I acknowledge that the club needs to make money where it can be spent on improvements but the other worries about real fans being priced out. Generally, it's not a huge deal, but I do think we need to avoid overpricing ourselves.
  6. I take accounts like this with a pinch of salt, as most care about likes rather than being factual and honest. If they have uppered their bid, it might make things more tempting - issue be, Notts may be able to attract higher off and deter the sale for now. I am included to think there's something to it, but will await to see if anything does happen.
  7. I don't have faith in voting for any of them, so I won't be voting. It might be disappointing to hear, but I value my time and if I had any faith in politics - I would. Fair play to those who are voting, as you must have your reasons, but I don't. I believe @super_pie is voting.
  8. I like and rate Tom Crawford, since leaving us he has done well and the thing about Hartlepool is they rely on young upcoming players as a means to keep the wage demands down. This enables them to nurture talent; once they reach an age where they might warrant a bit more in salary it's not uncommon to see them being released. Certainly, I think Crawford could make a big impact with them and since Altrincham FC are now a League Two team. He offers them some much-needed experience, so it will be a good move for him. I'll be watching to see how he does; hopefully he becomes a fan favourite because he's a nice guy.
  9. It was never a case of if I would renew, I know this is the case for many fans and I hope to start seeing some old faces who stopped going due to all the issues. It was a bit of downer seeing this happen, although I always hoped one day the club would be well looked after. The amount of season ticket sales to-date is nothing short of amazing; it really is a positive sign for the club and shows that things are much better now. We can be thankful for many things that the Reedtz have done for Notts, but for me making Notts a club that embraces its fans and ensures their money is well spent is very rewarding to see.
  10. It must be related to IOS and Apple, I'll speak to the support team because I have seen recent comments about issues with comments from Apple based products.
  11. We both have visual signatures, they seem to be linked to your device. Does the same thing happen on your phone?
  12. Wayne Hennessey isn't a very good liar, but somehow got off it.
  13. Great servant for Notts, a talent that shined during his spells with us. He started his career with us, which would have seen him being aligned with one of our best strike forces. My grandfather used to say he was one of the best headers of the ball, but was just as skilful with his feet. Unfortunately, he's another connected with potential head injuries considered to be increased due to him heading the ball. He suffered from Alzheimer's disease in his later years, such a saddening end to such a brilliant person. An authentic legend of Notts County!
  14. I have great admiration for Connell Rawlinson. His decision to work with Notts and to mutually agree on his release I believe allowed this to happen. I'm not sure that he would have been Chester bound otherwise. I really hope he can settle down, get himself on the team sheet and help Chester move forward. It's a great opportunity for him.
  15. I haven't seen any clips of the damage its causing, I am mindful that I can be sensitive to this sort of thing. It's horrible, I know people are suffering, and I hope once it has ended the world can rally to support the victims so that they have the aid to get back on with their lives. If you see images, it's sometimes difficult to remove them from your end - it's horrible to see people suffering. My thoughts and well wishes go out to everyone in the path of Hurricane Beryl.
  16. Those scenes are well worth it; I am pleased and thankful not to see another club fold. Vitesse have some very passionate fans, and it's difficult to see any supporter bases like them struggle.
  17. The Gordon Banks save is my favourite moment in goalkeeping turns; it's something I have seen probably a million times. Peter Shilton also had great reflexions, in addition to David Seaman. So it's something I appreciate. I don't think the camera angel gives the Turkish keeper credit, I would love to see it straight on or from the angle of the save itself. No doubt, it's a brilliant save to pull off. @super_ram: What was the keeper who had a nickname featuring a cat called? I think he was around Banks era or before.
  18. I am seeing complaints that the game is being scheduled around Sky, instead of the fans, but to be fair, it's only 15 minutes later than it normally would have been. It could be like 8:30pm or later, which would be worse. 7:45pm for night games gives fans who work chance to go, it leaves some with time to go home and freshen up - with others just managing to make it straight from work. So, I am not bothered that it's 15 minutes later. It's good that we do have this early payday from Sky. Hopefully, we will have a strong performance because that's the main thing.

  22. I've seen the footage and pictures, it's a very sly and quick gesture. I don't think Jude Bellingham should have made the gesture, but it's being blown out of proportion. Slovakia seem to be bitter about losing, their manager has made some nonsensical comments since the game. Such as being frustrated that Declan Rice was speaking to the referee and wouldn't let him interrupt. I'm not convinced that justifies him starting a confrontation and nearly causing a brawl. Back to Bellingham, I believe he means his apology and that should count towards something. If it's meaningful and something people learn from, which I am sure he will - then a ban just seems a very severe punishment for something that could be handled better. In other news: UEFA is conducting an investigation into Turkey’s Demiral due to his goal celebration. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cz47qd9qe2go https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/jul/03/turkeys-merih-demiral-facing-ban-over-wolf-celebration-in-win-over-austria
  23. We no longer have a need for applicants for the global moderator position. All the required spaces have been filled, which I’m pleased to announce. Therefore, the application for the open positions is now closed. Please join me in welcoming @Fan of Big Tone and @Piethagoram to the team. Tony will be advancing from a site support role, and Piethagoram will be assisting in keeping the site running smoothly. I’m grateful to both of them for stepping forward and offering their time to help PON. Please note that the application for the open positions is now closed. A site support role will be posted shortly, outlining where a potential new team member might be able to assist with. Once again, this will be handled within our openings and application system. No previous experience would be required.
  24. I thought he came with a fair amount of promise, he's one of those we signed too early in their careers. Well, in this case it was loaned too early. He's someone under our current owners, we might have signed once his loan deal had expired or near the end of it. Sam Stubbs has come quite far since his time here; I don't recall him being much of a stand-out player, but you could see he had potential. Fingers crossed, we can get the quality out of Lewis Macari this upcoming season.
  25. It happens at rock gigs too; it's something which peeves me off. Although, I do find it more acceptable at a football game as you are responding to something and celebrating - not just being an idiot in an attempt to soak someone. I think when people first did it, it was far more natural. Whereas these days, people seem to put a lot of effort into looking good whilst doing it. Just like how average goalkeepers make stunning saves solely for the cameras.
