Match Discussion: Game 25 - The Stones (A)
Wealdstone must be happy with the draw, it's s good result for them and credit is due for making the most of the game. I feel a bit disappointed, but it's nothing major. I just hoped we'd make it a lot more harder for them.

Match Discussion: Game 25 - The Stones (A)
If Notts pile the pressure on Wealdstone, a good result should come, and we might enjoy a few goals. The main thing is to leave with the win. However, it would be great for confidence if Notts won 4 or 5-0 and put together a solid performance. The postponements surely make some of our players more eager to do well. The process has to be on focus though, no game is won before kick off and Wealdstone can be extremely unpredictable at times. If we can work the ball and, control the game, chances shouldn't be few or far between. 3-1 is my score prediction. Cal Roberts, Kyle Wootton and Matt Palmer to score.

Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Whites (A)
It didn't look bad from what I've seen, we've had it worse and, I watched the game highlights their chairman mentioned - it certainly looked worse then compared to today. I don't buy they wanted the game to be played though, off or on. A decision needs to be made early to prevent travel. Dover are a club that pulls postponements without thought, if they truly believed the game could've been played, then they should've communicated with Notts throughout the process.

Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Whites (A)
Dover is just an awful club, no standards whatsoever... It came as no surprise that the game was called off, however, what wasn't predictable was how Notts would react - https://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/2022/january/dover-postponed-080122/ How can a referee postpone a match without speaking first to both teams? It seems wrong to me. Supposedly, even Dover didn't want the game being called off. ????

Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Whites (A)
No sympathy for Dover, whatsoever! They're incredibly poorly run and, are a joke to even be still operating as a football club. I find it hard to say that teams don't deserve to exist normally, however, Dover is the one example where I feel they're on borrowed time. Any club that spends money, signing players after releasing others (some allegedly not paid) - only to bring in high earners. It doesn't sit well with me. Nothing that Dover does surprises me. I fully expect them to pull a Kings Lynn on us, although, after the last time, Dover postponed two games - I would imagine the term should be "a double Dover". If the game goes ahead and Notts fails to play well, I would honestly be annoyed. Merely because they're the poorest team in this league for a reason, we have pulled off some good results and, I fail to see how we can't create enough chances to win. A draw wouldn't be so bad, but to be the first team they've won - some of our lot will have a right meltdown. Stick with the team that started against Wrexham if possible.
-
Match Discussion: Game 22 - Red Dragons (H)
The thing I noticed very quickly, was how Wrexham smashed their crosses and passes. It was almost like they wanted to intimidate us with weight on the ball, so that we didn't try to block them, which is something that faded as the game progressed. Their tempo early on, it was very direct and with a lot of purpose. Right before they scored, they had two chances which should've had alarm bells going. Their goal, was a fantastic exchange, and although I didn't feel like 'here we go again'. It did make me feel that the game would be very open, with Notts needing to exploit them. Kyle Cameron eased things a little, as Alex Lacey tried, but I think the main focus for us to regroup came from Cameron at the back. Wrexham didn't seem to have a lot of pace and, I was surprised that they actually didn't press more after the opening goal. Their red card, unbelievable - talk about stupidity. Was there any point in handling the ball? Did it save Wrexham? If that didn't happen, I feel the game would've been a draw as both teams did well in all fairness. No doubt Wrexham losing Harry Lennon was the turning point. They didn't start off as if they were a man down, bringing the game to Notts, but slowly we faded them out with our passing play. Those who dislike how we pass the ball at times, take note that Wrexham had spells where they chased every ball, until they became frustrated and somewhat lazy. This allowed Notts to turn the game in our favour, pushing and creating chances which put the panic on their defence. Whilst I felt Matt Palmer did very well, my Man of the Match would be Kyle Wootton for his work rate - followed by Frank Vincent who played an immense game. I actually felt every player played very well, with a level that grew as our confidence lifted. Paul Mullin had the chance to salvage the game for Wrexham, but he went missing. Very poor penalty! Nothing was taken from Anthony Patterson as he still needed to pull of the save, which was a good one, but that penalty was pathetic from a club's leading goalscorer. Jayden Richardson on another note, what a difference he made in the second-half. He was pretty quiet in the first 45 minutes, looking scared to run at Wrexham and, generally slowing the game down with some poor decision-making - yet for his age, It's to be expected. I just wanted to point out, that sometimes players can make up for periods where they go largely unnoticed. Fair play to Wrexham for still trying, although they looked visually defeated, but it was still a good game. Talking points: Opening goal: Yes, Anthony Patterson should really be saving those, but it was from a quick spell of chaos and well-placed strike. The red card: All day and, night - it was a red card. One of the most stupidest decisions I have ever seen in a life game. Wrexham fans disputing the decision: Harry Lennon denied a goal scoring opportunity, it wasn't a natural reaction - he made himself larger to cover the goal. Their antics with diving: Have the Wrexham players been taking acting lessons from Ryan Reynolds? If so, they need to keep it up because it's far from convincing. Throwing themselves into opposition players, jumping over people who are just standing, it was all absolutely ridiculous and, for this reason I see why they're struggling to be the Hollywood team they dream of. Elisha Sam foul: It wasn't a booking for me, but I can see why it was given. I felt he won the ball, yet he left a lot on the challenge and the momentum could be an issue that the referee decided was dangerous. No red, it wouldn't have changed much if he did get sent off. Elisha Sam's performance: He's a frustrating player, but when you have someone who seldomly plays and appears to try - It's hard to be crucial of the small parts they play. He did some nice things, one very decent cross into the box for Kyle Wootton. Yes, he missed the header where he didn't need to jump, but it's always harder to connect with the ball in that situation. Phil Parkinson: What a tool... If Notts gave Wrexham a lot to think about, yet he believes 100% that they were the better team - he's as deluded as the Wrexham fans. Penalty but not a straight red ????♂️and our third goal... It didn't change anything so why be salty about it.

Match Discussion: Game 20 - The Shrimpers (H)
I felt like "here we go", for the first 20 minutes. Notts didn't pass the ball well at all, in fact, Southend asserted more pressure after the first 10 minutes when they realised we looked nervous. We might be playing at a low level, but our players are able to pass, that's a basic thing in football and if this hasn't improved like it did - Southend would've enjoyed a lot more time as nobody seemed to want the ball in our kit. Aside from the free kick which Rube Rodrigues took, we didn't trouble them much at all. The moment Matt Palmer passed the ball to an unmarked Alex Lacey, who tried to control the ball but instead allowed it to go out for a corner is the most frustrating thing I have seen from Notts (much more than any part of our League Two relegation season). Defensively, Notts had their heads in the clouds (I could be harsher with the word clouds). ???? Thankfully, we started to improve but Southend's pressing in the first half did prove to be a difficult point to overcome. I would like to add, a lot of the issues in the first 45 minutes can only be blamed on us, but they did press very well once they knew Notts wasn't as comfortable as they should've been. When Cal Roberts scored, it did give us a boost and, I do think it restored some confidence, but it still looked like a game which would ultimately end in a draw. In the second half, Notts came out with a high-pressing attack and started how we should've been playing in the first. Southend struggled with our passing and, I am surprised they didn't start trying to kick lumps out of our players more so than the few times they did. Due to Southend wanting to play football, it allowed us to be a lot more creative and free - flowing with the distribution. I felt a bit disappointed when Joel Taylor came off, although Connor Pearsons did quite well. I just felt Taylor looked to be our main outlet on the flanks, yet in hindsight, it allowed Jayden Richardson a lot more ball time and, he alone took the game in a more direct way to Southend. The moment he started taking on the opposition's defence, pulling behind the last defender at the right time - just opened up so much space. Southend simply couldn't deal with the class we showed on the right-hand side, which made the game a lot more open. Notts did attack with a lot of purpose, yet I think it's only fair to credit Richardson for finding the space which change things. Frank Vincent did a lot of smart play, with his direct running and passing. Matt Palmer calmed things down and with Cal Roberts and Ruben Rodrigues the passing at times was a real joy to watch - although albeit frustrating when one or two of said players went for glory instead of being a team player. The performanc was fantastic overall, topped off with Kyle Cameron's goal.

Match Discussion: Game 20 - The Shrimpers (H)
Knowing Notts, Southend are exactly the type of team that will make it difficult. I can see frustrations becoming a problem, I have this feeling its going to happen. 1-0 up, then fall to pieces in the second half. I hope not, as I dislike Southend fans attitude towards the National League, its as if they're too good for this league. Yeah, right!

Match Discussion: Game 18 - Daggers (H)
Those in attendance, please make sure you wrap up warm. You know the drill with games like this. For anyone at home watching BT Sports or, listening to Radio Nottingham please do keep the match discussion up-to-date with your thoughts. I am hoping it's going to be a lively game from the Notts perspective. COYP!

Match Discussion: Game 18 - Daggers (H)
A strong home performance is needed here, I don't think Dagenham & Redbridge are anything special, and I think if approached well - we'd have little issues. Obviously, it depends on how Notts performs. I would be disappointed not to make the most of this tie though. Our midfield should easily find more time to influence the game, we just need to be wary of their set pieces and, pace.
-
Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (H)
I find what you say to be fair, although I clearly disagree. I also don't intend for the reaction to be offensive towards you, but I did feel amused by the comments suggesting he played an 8 (or even came close to being named the MOM).
-
Match Discussion: Game 17 - The Wood (A)
1-0 up, I thought if Notts could make the 70th minute we'd take all the points. It sounds like Notts played well, most fans comments so far appear happy, but to spear this season in the direction we want, than Notts must start grinding out games whereby we lead. Yes, we'll take the point, but we need to get back to winning ways ASAP. Otherwise, we'll have to reduce a large gap again, and I don't think we should be accepting that the play-offs are the highest we can go. I would hate to see the club fall out of them, as then we will be fighting to retain good standing for the play-offs.
-
Match Discussion: Game 17 - The Wood (A)
That gap we caught up, which is in danger of becoming bigger again and, these are the types of games where Notts needs to be stronger. Boreham Wood is a good team, they might not have many players who are considered stars, but they work well. I would hope that Notts could break them down by scoring as early as possible, but if we concede ourselves, it could be the same old story. I don't even think a draw here would serve much purpose, yes it's better than nothing but this is the time of the season where teams can fall wayward if they don't put in the performances/hard work.
-
Match Discussion: Game 16 - The Spitfires (A)
I hope Sam Slocombe has his tin hat on, as I don't dare go on social media - as I don't want to read comments singling him out. I highly doubt its his fault alone, no idea how the team played but Eastleigh know how to play teams at this level. We never seem to be able to match it.
-
Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (H)
He did okay towards the end of the first half and, much better in the second half. Overall, he was extremely poor in my opinion. His passing, positional play, marking (a major lack of) in the first 30 minutes were extremely poor. Anthony Patterson had a right mere due to the pressure being inserted, with his distribution during Adam Chicksen's indecisiveness. To me, it looked like we switched formations depending on whether we had the ball. However, when Rochdale attacked, he filled in alongside Connell Rawlinson.
-
Match Discussion: Game 16 - The Spitfires (A)
Eastleigh is the type of team I would class as underdogs, but they do understand how to play as a solid team, which makes them difficult to play against. The opening National League game mentioned by Liam, I attended, and we were far out of it. We just struggled to handle their height and physicality. Notts now knows how to play established National League teams that will be a bit more physical, will press the ball and give less time to make use of it. Matt Palmer should be extremely useful with his ability to hold onto the ball and get it moving, although Frank Vincent or whoever, needs to make sure they move into areas that can create chances. Not no man's land. It should be a cracking away day, as they've got a nice ground and fans can stand. I just hope we don't fall back or, struggle with having lost on Tuesday. I do think it will be out of mind and Ian Burchnall has rested some players well, but I am nervous about the centre back partnership. Adam Chicksen starting in this role will give me nightmares after Saturday.
-
Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (H)
I thought the game was entertaining for both teams, Notts was poor defensively for the first 20 minutes. Adam Chicksen is not a centre back, he was just awful and Anthony Patterson didn't look calm at all - although he made some very good saves. I felt Chicksen was largely poor the whole game. He's a totally different player out wide, but I don't think Ian Burchnall should repeat this mistake in the future, at least not to incorporate him in the side for the sake of it. If we have CB's available play them, I don't mind so much as this past game allowed others to rest. I just feel the indecisiveness and, lack of awareness leads to panic. Everyone else played quite well for me. I think Patterson redeemed himself even more so in the second half. I overheard some fans calling Cal Roberts, what these people might not be aware of - is it's probably Ian Burchnall who wanted to save him. Matt Palmer and, Frank Vincent stood out the most to me. Joel Taylor did well, but he struggled out wide at times and realised he had to drift in to be able to run at Rochdale. This led to some poor decisions, but overall I felt he did okay. It was a decent team performance, Notts to me, was unlucky to lose. In the 2nd half, we showed a different type of class. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough. I honestly would like to see more of a threat from Kairo Mitchell. I have people telling me that he's a proper striker, some even preferring him over Kyle Wootton, but I do not see it myself.
-
Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (H)
I do feel the Notts have reached a standard for their home performances, teams can make them work harder for it, but I believe Rochdale will allow Notts to play at times. It's in these moments where we need to show our class on goal, whilst staying robust enough to block them out at the back. It's a very difficult game to predict, as you can side with your heart. My prediction would be 1-0 to Notts, but admittedly, it could possibly be the other way round.
-
Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (H)
I have read that Rochdale prefer playing away from home and usually do better, so this could be a real fight, but I think the Notts camp are riding a high that might just see us progress further in the FA Cup. Meadow Lane has seen Notts put on some very impressive performances. In the first half against Solihull Moors, we moved the ball around well. If Rochdale allows us to play, then we should cause them more trouble than we did in the first game. I do expect it to be fairly open and, close.
-
Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Moors (H)
@menzinho I owe @super_ram and, @GrannyPie a cream cake now Mitchell has scored a league goal. I hope it boosts his confidence having scored, he works hard but so far hasn't seemed a threat on goal - at least not enough to warrant his starting place in my opinion. Great team performance by the squad yesterday.
-
Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Moors (H)
It wasn't that bad, if you remained in your seat at half-time and, found a way out of the ground before the final whistle - both of which I broke. Fantastic win and, positive performance. The clean sheet is a lot more important, especially with the absence of Kyle Cameron. I thought it was an excellent team performance, with some exceptional individual play. Matt Palmer was brilliant at winning the ball back and, his distribution. He looked heaps better than any Solihull Moor player. Poor DKE with the issue of dealing with their number 6, and the other player who kept pushing him in the second half, not that it bothered Kelly-Evans at all. Big win, it felt like a performance that showed a promise of further to come.
-
Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Moors (H)
I'm starting to get a bit itchy with my feet, as I don't really like big attendances due to anxiety. On the one side I am looking forward to the game, the other I don't want the usual idiot that knows nothing about the club behind me - moaning about every little thing. On the plus side, it would be a huge mark to get the largest crowd in the National league. Even if it's a sign of the dark times, it will be rememberable if and when we gain promotion back to the Football League. I actually think the performance will be decent, as those expected to start will want to carry on with our recent form. The only issue is that curse of ex managers when they revisit us, will Solihull play out of their skin? Who's going???
-
Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Moors (H)
It will be interesting to see Neal Ardley back at Meadow Lane, but I think Notts should perform well against them. Solihull Moors are a very hard - working team, who like to have control in their midfield. Provided we defend well, chances should come. I am hoping for a very good game, as I haven't seen Notts for awhile now with me being away.
-
Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (A)
It's a very good draw for us. I have seen some comments about the football being poor in the first half, yet the second half it sounded better. Most of the chances I heard came Notts' way, so that's a positive. I'm not worried about Notts missing chances, at least they're being created. I think we'll get the job done at Meadow Lane, I'm not fussed about the extra fixture either. We've got depth and, can rotate where needs be. It sounded like Cal Roberts had an usual game by his standard, I noticed on Twitter is dad went - it's a shame he didn't score. When we play at home, it might be worth bringing him on from off the bench.
-
Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Dale (A)
1-1 so far, Kyle Wootton puts the ball into the net with his head. Ruben Rodrigues almost got a second, but it didn't cause the Rochdale keeper any trouble. First half sounded like we failed to get grips their tactics, but this second half more seems to be coming out way.
