  1. I stayed up and watched it with Jake. I thought it was an entertaining game and by far England's best performance to-date in the World Cup. This said, I am disappointed that Mexico seem to have gotten away with attempting to cause disruptions and created noise throughout the night as a means to give themselves an unfair advantage on the match day but interrupting the England teams sleep. This type of behaviour is a major lack of respect, and considering they are part of the co-hosts I do hope punishment if applied in retospective. In the past, other nations have been held accountable by their own support. Russia was threatened to be kicked out of the World Cup they last held in 2018. Russia had threats 3 years before over safety, and other concerns that they might not be able to host it. Mexico were unlucky, and played some brilliant football. I didn't like how they sorrounded the referee all the time. Our red card was correct, but some of the Mexican players should have been given yellows and two potentially could have seen red. The decision against Harry Kane to give a penalty, just because a Mexican player beat him to kicking the ball, seems wrong. It was a difficult decision due to the game but not for what happened. Had Kane made contact and the Mexican followed through I would have considered it to be a fair attempt to win the ball. For me the referee did okay, but he seemed to allow them to contest every decision. He waved Kane away when our captain tried to speak or be around the situation, but allowed them to gang up over every little deicison. Yes, he gave a yellow when a Mexican player pushed and tried to cause a situation (yes the England player did idly elbow him) but they needed to be told to play on. On our penalty, the Mexican keeper should have been given a yellow card. It's disappointing they got away with unruly behaviour over the challenge, that saw a red card but they shouldn't have gotten away with being allowed to get violent. Jordan Henderson got a yellow card, I am not exactly sure why but several Mexican players warming up came onto the pitch during the game, whilst the ball was in motion and even pushed Saka twice. Winning a game with all this feels even better.
  2. Chris updated their mood to Disappointed
  3. The biggets concern is the injury to his hamstring, but he's a very bright young player and one who is technically very good. At 22, it seems less of a risk to take him on than someone nearer to 30 as the injuries start to impact you far more. Shoulder, back, and knee issues are quite common in sports. Michael Owen had a lot more problems caused due to his sheer pace, that led to him struggling but I wouldn't say it impacted his career all that much. Obviously, Michael Mellon is a different player but I do think he would still be around Burnley had he not been so unfortunate. He's someone I rate, he's always performed well against us and his father was a decent enough player. We are the type of team that can help players, and whilst some might think I have changed my tune. Cal Roberts is the example I started my point here with. However, I am certain Cal will do well for us and if we have good options within the team we can offer him protection. He's a different scenerio to Mellon. I would hope there's truth in the rumours, but I do have faith we will identify the right players needed. It's just imprtant we don't think we can get away with being short in the striker department.
  4. I wished it had been any other League Two, even Grimsby or Chesterfield would have been better. The thing which I don't like, is that if they have spent money, either on transfer or wages, to the point it matches Millwall. How on earth are they getting away with it? They have been cutting costs, sacked a good manager (albeit he's a k**b) and have lost quite a lot of money which I don't see them being able to recover in any legitmate means in my opinion. That said, it would have been nice to see Macaulay Langstaff return to us but League Two is probably his level in all fairness.
  5. Bless, 102 is a very good innings and I hope the legacy lives on for much longer. Rest in Peace.
  6. I haven't had the chance to read it, but I do wonder how much is fresh and not repeated from other sources/investigations. That said, I believe it was written by a Notts fan, and I wish him all the very best with it.
  7. It sounds like we were much more organised than previous encounters with Alfreton, but they are a lot weaker too. It's going to be interesting what trialists if any impress, and how we are going to go about filling the squad in the areas needed before the start of the season. I am pleased for Ryley Reynolds but what ever has happened to James Sanderson? These two seem like a big part of our future for the talent we develop ourselves. It's a good run out, but the result means little, but the fitness levels returning should be coming along nicely.
  8. Fixing my own mistakes for the most of the day, and helping somewhere the former owner can't resist in being jelous that I am fixing HIS mistakes. I don't mind holding my hands up when I make them, it means more to be humble and honst. Yet to act like Mr Highandmighty just because they inherited a successful website that you gave to someone else due to being out of depth is a little too late to act like something special. In the future, if someone hires my services, then acts like this I am refunding and blocking them. Got to build a reputation and take some of this nonsense first.
  9. Japan have played some of the best attacking football, it's unfortunate that they were happy to defend against Brazil because I said to Jake that they will tire and space will open up between their CBs. Their back line was very impressive, but the midfield chased every pass and allowed themselves to be brought out of posiiton, allowing Brazil to play quicker and place the ball into the crucial areas where chances could be created. First half Brazil was dire, much better in the second half but I do feel Japan were unlucky.
  10. I chose Super over Coca-Cola, along with two bottles of DnB and a pack of corderal with vitamin B, C, D, Iron and Zinc. It was nice to be able to get over to see him, I would have dragged myself in the heat if I had felt well enough but today felt just right. He was very cheerful, and more like himself. Still don't see him as often on his laptop, but we did watch Brazil vs Japan in the first half and rushed home, because Jake hoped to see them beat Brazil. It's been a strange few days, but certainly nice to have stepped out. Sometime this week, I'll be making him various meals and taking more DnB rounds since he's become mad on it.
  11. Well, I am looking forward to this and I am not that bothered that we have played them not so long ago. I am all for us playing Forest pre-season, as it's good to see how we compare with our neighbours and if we play for the County Cup or whatever it is called these days it would be nice. It's a good thing for the city, despite not liking Forest. I can respect what they have done, and appreciate their genuine fans.
  12. The service status page now sends alert emails when something is going on, and I will be sure to maintain the page when things do happen. Some new features will be in testing mode on the live site shortly, and others will become the norm like my ehancement to the desktop's navigation and the history section. =) Stay tuned for more updates.
  13. Despite the accidents and losses to our fan base, I am looking forward to Stevenage. I was present when some of our fans were hit by cars, trying to go over the busy road and it was awful. It's a shame because I did enjoy going to watch them, and will do again but that will be in the back of my mind. The reason I like Stevenage is it isn't difficult to get to, the parking is convenient and most of the games have always been a nice sunny afternoon. There're not many fix releases that bring back memories; the only other is Alan Hardy banging on about how a certain person was going to go far but has caused multiple relegations. I thought about going to The Nest the other day, but I didn't due to the heat. I do look forward to the fixtures release but not many hold memories for me.
  14. Quite the strong Irish accent, he seems very levelheaded and focused on pushing his career on. Seems to know where the back of the net is, so it is very promising.
  15. It would be nice to grab an early upset in the League Cup, but the focus more so has to be remaining in League One. Still, it will be a chance to start a few players who could be in contention for the starting XI, whilst allowing more favourable players a chance to get minutes in without things being pressured. I am quite happy with the draw, because it's a different team and will be somewhere some of our fans haven't seen Notts play in awhile if at all.
  16. For me, it's a good time to be playing Leicester City because they will still have a lot of the negativity about their relegation and some of their fans are still having wobbles about it now. I honestly think they'll start off slow, and potentially may struggle. They still have some good players, and should be able to adapt in time, but I think for us going in confident, organised and showing no fear may give us a boost. The opening games could be literally any team, and I would still feel we'd be fine. You have to make the most of them, and sometimes tough starts can wake teams up. It should be a good game, so let's look forward to hosting the former Premier League winners.
