  6. It looks like the club is taking steps to evolve, making things smoother and more crucial for our future success. If they get this right now, it will give Notts a small advantage over clubs that can't afford it, and it ensures we are ready when we move up, provided we can claim the leagues. Football is an expensive business. Injuries and fitness do affect teams, and hopefully, this is a step towards better protecting ourselves.

  11. Sharing makes sense right now because owning the facilities would bring extra costs. It would take a lot to get them up to the right standard and even more to improve them. At this stage, this is the best option for us.
  12. Do the bookies have it right about who might come in? The odds will probably shift a bit before the new head coach is appointed. I don’t see the Reedtz going for Joao Alves.
  13. Tom Lorpenda looks like a solid addition to the squad. I don’t expect him to be as good as George Abbott, but I think he’ll do well. If he has pace, I’d love to see him use his energy to take players on. Having someone in midfield who can drive forward would be a real boost. It’s a good signing, and I think we’ll see more once the head coach is in place.

  17. Worth the punt for Notts, but with so much interest and him turning down moves, it seems unlikely. There are shades of Macaulay Langstaff in him, and he’s only 22 years old! Had a trial with Wycombe Wanderers, in 2023. 19. This is the first time I've seen the changes, but I have always liked how PON looks. It's very impressive, and I agree the updates since the last version are a big improvement. Once everything is back, it will be interesting to see how the site performs. I really enjoy talking about Notts and visiting the site.
  20. Firstly, it's a very encouraging signing and good to see the club still committed to strengthening the squad. If Notts miss out on automatic promotion, having a backup keeper would be crucial. I don't think Sam Slocombe has done anything to deserve being dropped, but sometimes you have to go with your strongest keeper. We don't yet know how Tyler Miller will fit into the team, but if he's more comfortable with the ball at his feet, it gives Stuart Maynard options. I welcome the signing, but I agree that some fans quickly dismiss and turn on players. We saw this with Jim O'Brien when people on social media claimed he was past his best.
  21. I hope that time proves me wrong, but I don't see how this could be good for the club. It might be better to explore this nearer the end of the season. The focus right now should be on trying to get promoted. Any existing friction caused for various reasons, including the Trews, should be avoided at this crucial stage in the season.
  22. Mick Walker was appointed during difficult times, and I always felt he deserved more time. Notts never gave him a fair shot, and his departure was a bigger loss to the club than many realised. He was a great coach, highly respected, and for me, his sacking marked the point where the club began to slip backwards. The appointments that followed didn’t put the club in a better place. Mick Walker brought qualities to the team similar to those of Jack Wheeler, and he should never have been sacked. His contribution to Notts County will always be remembered. May he rest in peace.
  23. Notts showed great composure in their win against Morecambe, staying focused despite the visitors' thuggish behaviour and constant confrontations with the referee. Morecambe's organisation was solid, but they were clearly outclassed by Notts’ passing and movement. The Magpies could have added more goals, but hesitation in front of goal saw several chances go to waste. Despite this, the team’s creative play and swift movement were key to securing the win, with Charlie Whitaker stepping up impressively in Dan Crowley’s absence, proving there’s life after him. The team’s reliance on Crowley in previous matches had perhaps overshadowed others, but this game highlighted the squad's depth. Curtis Edwards had some neat moments, though his overall performance left room for improvement. Rod McDonald caused some early concern but settled as the game progressed. However, Jodi Jones walking off injured was worrying, especially given the physical nature of Morecambe’s play. Their reckless, late challenges made it surprising that more players didn’t come off worse. Still, Notts did well to avoid getting drawn into the aggression and focused on their game to claim a deserved victory.
  24. The improvement at the back is clear to see, and Bedeau deserves a lot of credit for how he’s slotted into the team. He and Platt have been rock solid, and you can tell there’s a real emphasis on defending as a team. It’s great to hear him speak about the fans too. Meadow Lane really does feel like a fortress when everyone’s behind the lads. We’ve dropped points at home when we probably shouldn’t have, but the signs are there that we’re moving in the right direction. I’d love to see Bedeau get his first goal soon, sounds like the lads won’t let him forget it!!!
  25. A tough match but a well earned three points. We weren’t at our free flowing best, but the defensive discipline made all the difference. Jatta is turning into a real threat up front, and that finish was top class. Still can’t get over the penalty decision, though. The reasoning behind it is ridiculous, it shouldn’t matter how players react, a foul is a foul. Credit to the lads for staying focused and seeing the game out. Maynard’s got this team playing with confidence, and it’s good to see the subs making an impact as well. Gordon and Edwards in particular slotted in nicely. We’re right in the mix now, keep this up, and we’ll be fighting for promotion all the way.
