Your Voice, Your PON: Donation Drive for a Stronger Community
@Chris, would it be possible to meet at Meadow Lane so I can give you a donation in person? I’m happy to do it online if that’s easier for you, but I’d prefer to hand it over face to face. I’d rather keep the amount private, if that’s alright. I hope this works for you.

Match Discussion: League Two - Tranmere Rovers (A)
Paterson handled things well after the break, making the right decision to bring Gordon on for Cotter, who had a tough first half. The switch paid off straight away, with Gordon looking lively and finishing with real confidence. Dennis also deserves credit, he’s got a knack for being in the right spot and is quickly becoming a key part of the team. Tranmere did push us late on, but we stayed calm, which hasn’t always been the case in past games. Roos made a vital save near the end, and the back line looked more settled than usual. All in all, it was a solid showing away from home and should give the lads a boost going into the next set of matches.

Martin Paterson Hails Back Line and Second-Half Response at Prenton Park
I was impressed with the way Paterson managed the game after the break. Cotter struggled in the first half, so taking him off for Gordon was the right call, and the change was rewarded straight away. Gordon looked sharp, and his finish showed confidence. Dennis deserves praise for being in the right place again, he is quickly turning into a vital player for us. Tranmere put us under pressure in the closing stages, but unlike in previous games, we didn’t panic. Roos’s save near the end was crucial, and the defence looked more solid than usual. Overall, it was a strong away performance that will give the squad a lift heading into the next run of fixtures.

Who's your Man of the Match v Bromley?
I'm voting for Matthew Dennis. As I said before, his movement and overall performance were excellent. I think he truly deserves Man of the Match. He worked hard and made a real impact. I'm pleased the match sponsors picked the right player. Now it's our chance as fans to do the same.

Matthew Dennis Strikes Twice but Bromley Deny Notts County Victory
Dennis’ goals are becoming a real asset. He showed great movement for the first and the header for the second was just as good. What’s disappointing is how we let Bromley back into it. At 2–1 we should have been tighter defensively, instead we gave away silly fouls and invited pressure due to the timing of the substitutes. The free-kick for their second was soft, but we still could have defended the second half better. Matches like this are the fine margins in League Two. You can see Paterson is building a team with goals in it, but we need more resilience at the back to turn good performances into wins.

I Don't Get It – When Support Turns Sour
Football fans can be miserable at the best of times, and Notts is no exception. There’ll always be people who spread negativity, it’s just how they deal with things. Best to ignore it and focus on what actually matters. They’ve got every right to speak their mind, but that doesn’t mean we have to give it attention. I find a lot of people on social media are quick to criticise but slow to offer any real support or solutions. Martin Paterson’s got a tough job ahead, and if the reaction to Stuart Maynard is anything to go by, this could be one of the hardest seasons since the Reedtz brothers took over. Some of the comments about the owners are just daft. People want them gone, yet they’ve no idea if anyone else could do better. It’s ridiculously short-sighted.

Changes to NewPie group: Among other things...
It’s nice to have it explained clearly, along with the different options. At least the styles are there for when people want to change things or make the site feel more personal. It’s good to see the site letting us choose what we prefer. It’ll help some people feel more at home when they’re using it.

Martin Paterson Ready for First Competitive Home Game as Notts County Host Salford City
I think Paterson’s approach is exactly what we need this season. It’s not about making the occasion bigger than it is, it’s about being ready to perform. His comments on Tyrese Hall are encouraging because it shows the club are still improving the squad and adding depth. I also like how he’s made training competitive this week after the draw at Newport. That’s the right reaction. No player should feel their place is guaranteed, especially if results aren’t there. Salford will be organised and dangerous, but if we match Paterson’s attitude on the pitch, I think we’ll have a good chance of getting the result we want.

Where are they now : Archie Mair
I appreciate the time he spent here, but there are better goalkeepers out there. He always gave me the feeling that a mistake was coming. He’s a good shot-stopper and brilliant with penalties, but we need someone stronger when it comes to dealing with crosses and high balls.

Ryley Reynolds returns to Kidderminster
It’s not always about the level of football that helps a player most. Sometimes it’s about being in the right place to bring out their best and help them grow. Riley Reynolds is one of the young players the club seems keen to develop into a future first team regular. Best of luck to him while he’s out on loan.

YoopEyes welcome to PON
It’s nice to see you back, @YoopEyes. I used to go for hospitality quite a lot, but after AH, I chose to return to sitting in the stands. I’m still in the Pavis, but I do miss the friendly staff you’d come to know over time. Glad you’ve found your way back to PON. It’s a good place, and worth settling back into.

Lewis Macari
It’s a real shame and quite disappointing too. Everyone makes mistakes at some point, and I’m glad to see people showing kindness towards Lewis Macari. Betting can be a strong temptation, especially if someone thinks they won’t get caught. I’m not sure bans always help, depending on the situation. If it’s a habit and the bets don’t affect the game itself, I can understand and feel for the person. But if someone’s using inside knowledge or trying to fix a result, then punishment is absolutely right. From what I can tell, Macari made a poor choice when he was younger, but seems to have stopped once his career began to move forward. I hope the FA takes a fair view and shows some understanding if the details support it.

Football Regulator
How it’s put into action and who is in charge of checking things will be important. It needs to be run by someone independent but well trusted for it to work properly. Still, I agree that it’s a good move towards protecting clubs and their future. It's something that could make a real difference in the long run.

Club World Cup
Getting in early with your Prediction League pick, @TheSkipper? Fair play. That kind of planning might give you the edge this time. I honestly thought Real Madrid would be too strong for PSG, but they took a real beating. Shows how unpredictable football can be. Just when you think you’ve got it sussed, it throws you a curveball.

Soundtracks of Your Life
'Summer of '69' by Canadian singer Bryan Adams brings back happy memories. It’s a lot like ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ by Van Morrison. Both songs tell stories of carefree days, growing up, and dreaming about the future. They also show how life changes over time. These songs have inspired many people and are known as true rock classics. ‘Summer of '69’ always reminds me of looking forward to turning 18. It makes you think about childhood and how those moments become the warmest memories. There’s a special feeling that comes with looking back. When you think about the path you took, you realise those choices helped shape the person you are today.

Didzy joins Barnsley
League One will be more of a challenge, especially now he’s two years older than when he last played there. Still, he’s a quality player and was well above the standard in League Two. I hope things go well for him at Barnsley. I did chuckle at the Meadow Park slip-up, classic mix-up. It’s also a bit amusing how Barnsley rolled out the red carpet for him as if he were a marquee signing.

The Grant Paradox
Thanks for posting this, @sadlad. I’d tend to agree with what you’ve said and hope the club is keeping its options open. After seeing what’s been said about his injuries, I’m not too sure he’s the right fit. I saw some fans weren’t too keen on Ollie Norburn either. It seems like opinions are quite split.
-
The Grant Paradox
Conor Grant still has time to grow into a key player. He’s only 23 and has already shown moments where he looks comfortable in the first team. Romaine Sawyers is ten years older and brings a lot more experience. His best time was at Walsall, but he’s played much higher than Grant over the years. It depends how you look at it. Maybe Sawyers is slowing down a bit, and Grant could still go further in his career. Personally, I’d back Grant to develop, but Sawyers might add something different with his creativity.
