  1. I was impressed by the Accrington Stanley fan's insights. They seem confident in their team's young players and management. Their strong defence and set-pieces will be a challenge for Notts County. As a Notts fan, I hope we can exploit their weaknesses and create more scoring chances.
  2. This is what we need. David McGoldrick can score goals, as we've seen against Swindon Town, and that's why playing players at the right time is important. His form towards the end of last season was mostly due to him being overplayed. He will take his chances now that we use him correctly, and he will play based on his performance.
  3. This was a good match from start to finish. McGoldrick’s contributions were nothing short of magic, that second goal was a masterclass in finishing. The defence deserves a huge amount of credit too, especially in those tense final minutes. It was a complete team effort and a well-deserved victory that keeps our promotion dreams alive.
  4. Derby County 2-0 Bristol City Plymouth Argyle 1-1 Stoke City Crawley Town 1-0 Barnsley Peterborough United 1-2 Wrexham Accrington Stanley 0-1 Colchester United Carlisle United 3-2 Tranmere Rovers Joker Altrincham 2-1 Oldham Athletic Gateshead 1-1 Eastleigh
  5. Notts had to work late just to write about him in a way that makes it sound exciting and a bit exaggerated. It's not a bad signing, but it’s quite average. I can’t see many teams rushing to sign him, as most of his career has been with smaller non-league teams.
  6. I voted for Dan Crowley. He's been excellent and is showing signs of being a key player consistently.
  7. I hope Notts can win the game. It's a game I feel confident about, but Swindon Town might surprise us. I'll be watching to see if they sign any new players, which could affect the game. I feel Notts are well-prepared and have enough players to start getting results away from home.
  8. It's embarrassing to see a club misspell their own name, but I'm sure other clubs have done it too. The person most likely responsible probably feels just as bad.
  9. George Abbott's move to Notts County is a fantastic opportunity for him to develop as a player. After spending most of his youth career at Tottenham, he’s now in a position to get regular first-team action. His defensive abilities will be a real asset to our team, helping us solidify our midfield and dictate the pace of play. Abbott's research on our supporters shows his dedication and enthusiasm to join this club. His experience of playing in a similar style at Spurs should mean he can fit in seamlessly with our squad. I’m excited to see him in action and think he can be a key player in helping County achieve success this season.
  10. George Abbott's move to Notts is a brilliant decision for his career growth. Having spent most of his youth at Tottenham, he now finds himself in a new environment where he can gain valuable first-team experience. His defensive skills will certainly be beneficial to us, helping to strengthen our midfield and control the tempo of the game. Abbott's research into our fan base shows his commitment and excitement to be part of this team. His familiarity with a similar style of play at Spurs means he can hopefully integrate smoothly into our squad. I'm eager to see him in action and believe he can help Notts County achieve great things this season.
  11. It's excellent news that the bids have been rejected, it gives us fans confidence in keeping a team capable of pushing for a return to League One. Promotion relies on players like Dan Crowley and Jodi Jones, so having them is very important. Both players will be part of the squad against Swindon, and we need to start improving our away form by earning a win on the road. This will lift our confidence and give us fans more reason to cheer at the games.
  12. Until our promotion season back to the EFL, I hadn’t heard much about Tom Keetley. It’s a shame that such a player isn’t as well-known as the likes of Tommy Lawton and Jackie Sewell. He deserves recognition, and I agree that the Notts Hall of Fame isn’t complete without Keetley’s name in it. Maybe with The Nest, the club will host more fan-related events and make something of the Hall of Fame. I think his career contributions need to be remembered more than his life after football. The sadness of being forgotten doesn’t seem fair.
  13. Sunderland 1-1 Burnley Charlton Athletic 2-1 Bolton Wanderers Joker Lincoln City 1-0 Mansfield Town Cheltenham Town 0-0 AFC Wimbledon Newport County 1-2 Accrington Stanley Rochdale 2-0 Forest Green Rovers Sutton United 0-0 York City
  14. Lucas Ness is an outstanding acquisition for Notts County. His versatility across the back three positions is exactly what we need, especially with the current injuries and fitness concerns. His experience in League One and his recognition at Charlton Athletic make him a vital player for our squad. Plus, the long-term nature of his contract shows the club's confidence in his abilities. Welcome aboard, Lucas!
  15. It's a problem for clubs losing out on sales, but it also shows that the price of kits needs to be fairer. It costs an arm and a leg these days, it's not cheap and every year it seems they creep up. Clubs need to be realistic and make it harder to copy.
  16. Remove Dan Crowley from this squad and things just won't click. Defensively and creatively, I don't think he's easily replaceable. Selling him to MK Dons would be a big blow.
  17. Fleetwood were much better than I imagined yesterday, they might have a point to feel unlucky. Notts did well, but weren't clinical enough in the first half. There were a lot of passes, but little movement. Notts deserved at least a point.
  18. The pitch looks great, I can see it benefitting Notts. The squad should be fine with more games, today was a difficult game to get back into but a fair result.
  19. Conor Grant seems like a fantastic addition to Notts. His early goal in the League Cup already shows his capability and potential to become a standout player for the team. It's encouraging to see his enthusiasm for the new pitch and the upcoming matches, making it clear that he's ready to give his all for the club. With his solid experience in the Football League, I'm optimistic that he will bring both skill and maturity to the midfield, and help drive us towards a successful season.
  20. Mark Stallard's analysis perfectly captures the essence of the Notts County vs. Shrewsbury Town match. It was, indeed, a tale of two halves. The first half saw us dominating, which was a thrill to watch. The second half, however, tested our resilience. Despite the frustrating nature of conceding goals and losing on penalties, Stall's encouragement to focus on the positives is vital. Holding our own against a higher division team for 90 minutes is commendable. The substitutions might have disrupted the momentum, but they were necessary.
  21. Welcome @Gaz whitworth! If you enjoy discussing Notts, you'll like this site. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham.
  22. I wonder how much the sport has taken a toll on him. The training is relentless, and repeatedly diving into water might not be the best activity. He’s done superbly, so I wish him well.
  23. @Countylad with PON you get out what you put in, it's a great resource for Notts fans. Welcome to the community.
  24. Please keep us updated when you can, and make sure to let @AmericanPie know our thoughts. It was clear that he appreciated the insights we shared, and I hope he's still able to stay informed. I'm sorry to hear this news and greatly valued his contributions to PON. It's very sad.
  25. The first half against Shrewsbury was absolutely thrilling. Seeing Notts play with such dominance gave us all hope. However, football is unpredictable, and the second half showed just that. Credit to Shrewsbury for their comeback, but it's unfortunate that defensive mistakes let us down. Penalties are always a gamble, and this time luck wasn't on our side. Stuart Maynard’s reflections were honest and eye-opening. Learning from these experiences is crucial, and the team's resilience is commendable. The focus now should be on the upcoming match against Fleetwood. We need to take the positives from this game and work on areas that need improvement. Keep the faith! Onwards and upwards!
