  1. I am enjoying the coverage by Notts. I watched the Fleetwood game and thought we got caught out just before we could have scored ourselves. The team looks better at handling setbacks, and defensively, it is much improved. I would like Notts to show the same intensity to win the ball back as quickly as possible. Grimsby will come at us, but I am much more confident knowing Alex Bass is in goal and our new defenders are robust enough to do well.
  2. Notts might cash in on Dan Crowley, but I don’t think they will just let him go. There’s time for the club to work out an extension. If they can’t work out a deal, the club might receive more tempting offers later in the season. Right now, I can’t see the club wanting to sell him. I think those jumping the gun and believing he’s going already should understand how negative it would be for the club.
  3. Always loved hearing stories about Jeff Astle. A true icon of English football, no doubt.
  4. I would gladly entrust the role to Matt Palmer. He is a reliable performer who won’t let us down. This responsibility might encourage him to become more of a leader on the pitch.
  5. With Macaulay Langstaff’s sale, I don’t foresee the sales increasing much beyond what has been announced. However, a few good signings and reinvesting some of the money might help boost the morale of the fan base.
  6. I don’t fault Macaulay Langstaff for his departure; I think it’s a sensible move. He wouldn’t want to live with the regret of not trying now and being too old to truly enjoy playing at that level later. There’s always the possibility that he might return one day, but if we continue to grow, we might outpace him. He’s 27 now, with about 5 more years at his peak. After that, his pace and other skills will likely decline. He might still score goals, but it’s the right time for him to move on.
  7. I don’t know much about him, but having money in our pockets is better than letting him go once we decide not to give him playing time. I doubt he would have made it to the first team; we are far from bringing any youngster into the limelight.
  8. After a few days, most of those who are upset will come to their senses. It’s just the usual ones who thrive on such situations to spread more negativity. The club is in good hands; we just need to keep building.
  9. If a player wishes to leave, we should respect their decision and do all we can to facilitate it. Notts requires players who are committed and give their all in every match. Kyle Cameron appears to be upset about losing the captaincy. Whether it’s right or wrong, he’s moved on and it won’t be our issue when his contract expires.
  10. There are some grumpy fans of Notts on social media. I find it hard to believe that true fans, who have seen his dedication, would deny him such a move. My view of him is based on highlights and the occasional full game that I have streamed. It’s clear that he possesses a quality that a higher-level team would eventually seek.
  11. Welcome to PON, @Jake. Good to have you on board.
  12. Welcome to PON, @Up the Maggies. Good to have you on board.
  13. Welcome to PON, @Morten Johansen. Good to have you on board.
  14. Welcome to PON, @TimB. Good to have you on board.
  15. Notts were fortunate to retain him the season following our promotion. Once the fans settle down and view the broader perspective, I believe most will realise that denying Macaulay Langstaff the opportunity to play at a higher level is somewhat self-centred. While I would have relished the chance to see us ascend with him once more, we are in a phase of growth and sometimes that requires financial investment.
  16. Hayley Turner, we take pride in you. Your name will be etched in our memories. You are one of our own!
  17. Macaulay Langstaff is a refreshing presence, a born striker that the club has been on the lookout for years. At last, Notts has a gifted striker who could make a significant mark if he stays for a few more seasons. However, I recognise that at his age, he will have his own aspirations.
  18. Welcome @BiggestPieInGlasgow! Good to see a new member join.
  19. What a fantastic read! Nick’s heartfelt words about his time at Crawley Town really struck a chord. It’s clear that he genuinely cherished his time there and appreciated the support from the fans. Transitioning to Notts County seems like a perfect fit for him, especially considering their ambitious plans and style of play.
  20. Alex Bass seems like the perfect fit for Notts County. His experience from AFC Wimbledon, combined with his obvious enthusiasm and calm demeanour, should make him a valuable asset to the team. I’m really intrigued by his comments on the club’s atmosphere and potential for promotion. Goalkeepers with his level of focus and drive can really make a difference in tight matches, and it's reassuring to hear that he’s keen to develop further. Here’s hoping he can help us secure that much-needed promotion!
  21. Welcome, Nick Tsaroulla! It's really exciting that we’ve signed such a talented player. His performance at Crawley, especially that incredible goal against Leeds and helping them secure promotion, makes me optimistic about what he’ll bring to our team. His versatility on both flanks and defensive strength offers much-needed flexibility. I believe he will blend in well with our current line-up, adding depth and experience. Thanks to Crawley for nurturing his talent; now, it's our turn to benefit. Looking forward to cheering for you, Nick. Best of luck!
  22. I've been lurking for a while, but this nudged me to finally participate actively. Following the β€˜Jimmy Sirrel Stand’ forum has been enlightening. Hats off for urging us to utilise this, it will make the fan experience more enjoyable, and I’m here for it.
  23. I get it, but as an outsider, I don’t think protecting the players from defeats is necessary. It might be something Luke Williams prefers, I’m not sure, but it does affect the information coming from the club. Every player can provide a unique perspective, even in defeat.
  24. I’m tired of encountering negativity online. It’s not beneficial for me, and it certainly isn’t for Notts. I understand and share the frustration with the defence, but we need to move on. We won’t win every match, and if we persist in feeling frustrated by every occurrence, no progress will be made.
  25. From what I’ve observed, it’s a good signing. I agree that he has more to contribute and display, but that will come with time.
