  1. I admire that he watched Notts play before signing, that’s commitment! Shows he understands where he fits in and what the team’s about. Jevani mentioned his struggle with rustiness, seems honest. Playing with Didzy and the others should bring him back to form soon enough.
  2. Derby County 1-0 Hull City Plymouth Argyle 3-2 Preston North End Cambridge United 0-1 Burton Albion Lincoln City 4-2 Stockport County Bradford City 2-2 Doncaster Rovers Newport County 1-2 Fleetwood Town Joker Barnet 0-2 Rochdale Ebbsfleet United 0-2 Wealdstone
  3. It was definitely a gritty performance, but we managed to grab a point in tough conditions. Maynard’s decision to stay calm at half-time and make tactical adjustments paid off; you could see the shift in our play after Brown came on. Barrow were very organised and difficult to break down, so credit to the lads for their patience. McGoldrick’s penalty was just what we needed, especially given the pressure and antics from their keeper. The team showed great mental strength to stay composed in the later stages. Hopefully, we can work on our starts, going behind early puts a lot of pressure on us. Overall, it’s a decent result, and I’m sure we’ll build from here.
  4. Cardiff City 1-0 Portsmouth Leeds United 1-2 Watford Bristol Rovers 4-1 Shrewsbury Town Peterborough United 3-0 Blackpool Fleetwood Town 2-2 Crewe Alexandra Tranmere Rovers 3-2 Grimsby Town(joker) Dagenham & Redbridge 0-2 Eastleigh Joker Tamworth 1-1 Yeovil Town
  5. Stuart Maynard has shown significant growth in his management style. Initially met with scepticism, his strategic decisions have proved pivotal in transforming the team’s dynamics. By focusing on building a robust defence and fostering squad depth, he’s created a foundation for sustainable success. The ability to adapt and introduce different styles of play, depending on opponents, shows he's learning quickly. Maynard's management of young talents, alongside veteran players, paints a promising picture for the club's future. It's this balance of innovation and tradition that’s making a real difference on the pitch.
  6. That was a proper hard-fought win! The kind of match where you’re just hoping we don’t concede because it felt like one goal would be enough to win it. And it was! What I liked the most was the team’s work rate, everyone from front to back was putting in a shift. It’s not always about playing free-flowing football, sometimes you’ve just got to grind out the result. And we did exactly that today. We didn’t create loads of chances, but the one we got, we took, and defensively we were really switched on. Another clean sheet, and another step closer to where we want to be.
  7. I’m happy to hear that we’re close to having a fully fit squad again, that’s been one of the main issues. Maynard’s comments about being clinical are exactly what we’ve all been thinking. We’ve created so many good chances recently but haven’t put them away. And yes, the refereeing has been poor, but it’s good to see he’s not making excuses. The focus is on us, and that’s the right approach. Hopefully, with a bit more sharpness in front of goal, we’ll get the win today. Let’s not forget Wimbledon are tough defensively, so we’ll need to be at our best.
  8. Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Swansea City QPR 0-0 Portsmouth Blackpool 0-2 Barnsley Lincoln City 1-1 Birmingham City Bradford City 1-3 Gillingham Joker Port Vale 2-1 Fleetwood Town Maidenhead United 2-2 Hartlepool United Sutton United 0-3 Oldham Athletic
  9. I thought Kellan Gordon was class, a very tricky player. He gave Chesterfield a tough time, so he gets my vote.
  10. Crawley Town 2-0 Shrewsbury Town Joker Peterborough United 2-2 Rotherham United Barrow 1-1 Morecambe Cheltenham Town 0-3 Swindon Town Doncaster Rovers 2-0 Crewe Alexandra Harrogate Town 2-2 Newport County Salford City 3-1 Grimsby Town Tranmere Rovers 1-1 Bradford City
  11. Dan Crowley stood out with his performance. I believe we need more creativity in our attack. Our forward play lacked the necessary spark to break down the opposition. Port Vale fans might be pleased with their 1-0 win, but their overall performance was lacklustre. They missed an open goal and relied heavily on defensive tactics, parking the bus at every opportunity. Notts needed to be more clinical in front of goal. Stuart Maynard must ensure we remain unpredictable in our play. Yesterday, we were too predictable against Port Vale, which was disappointing as we didn’t test their keeper enough.
  12. Dan Crowley gets my vote. It’s close between two other players, but I think we need to see a bit more spark in the attacking department.
  13. I think Stuart Maynard needs to make sure we aren’t predictable in games. We usually aren’t, but against Port Vale yesterday, it was very much the case. It’s a bit disappointing that we just allowed the time to unwind without really testing Port Vale’s keeper.
  14. I don’t know how Port Vale fans can be happy with their performance, even with the 1-0 win. They were poor and missed an open goal. That summed them up as a team, but they defended better. Then again, they parked the bus at every opportunity and tried to put every player behind the ball. Notts needed to be a lot more clinical on goal.
  15. Coventry City 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday Joker Watford 3-1 Middlesbrough Mansfield Town 0-2 Blackpool Rotherham United 1-0 Reading Accrington Stanley 2-3 Morecambe Swindon Town 2-2 Harrogate Town Eastleigh 1-0 Forest Green Rovers Halifax Town 2-1 Tamworth
  16. Kellan Gordon’s journey to Notts is the kind of story that makes football special. From the highs at Crawley Town to returning to his roots, it’s a path many players don’t get to take. For us at Notts, it’s great to see his joy at being home. It’s like the club and city give him new energy. This personal happiness can lead to good performances, both on and off the pitch. It’s always a bonus when a player is as invested in the community as in the game. His aim to help despite challenges shows his strong character. Good on him and the team!
  17. Norwich City 3-1 Leeds United Sunderland 1-1 Derby County Birmingham City 0-0 Huddersfield Town Crawley Town 0-4 Mansfield Town Joker Leyton Orient 2-2 Exeter City Doncaster Rovers 1-0 Barrow Newport County 1-2 Salford City Tranmere Rovers 2-0 Swindon Town
  18. I was gutted to see Jodi go down like that. His energy on the field is unmatched, and he’s been an incredible asset this season. The challenge was tough to watch, and it was obvious he was in pain, but seeing him try to carry on sums up his character. We need stronger officiating to protect our attacking players from such reckless challenges. Jodi’s attitude towards his recovery is commendable, and I have no doubt he’ll return stronger. His words to the fans are truly motivating. We’ll be here, cheering for his comeback and supporting the team throughout this difficult period. Stay strong, Jodi!
  19. The match was filled with missed chances and frustrations. Despite dominating possession, Notts struggled to penetrate Morecambe’s solid defence. McGoldrick found himself isolated up front, and our lack of rhythm in the first half proved costly. Although the second half showed some improvement, particularly with the substitutions, it was too little too late. Platt’s equaliser was well-earned, but with better finishing, we could have secured a winner. The high foul count was concerning, as it disrupted any momentum we managed to build. Overall, it was a decent point, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
  20. It was a game of missed opportunities and frustrations. Notts had the lion's share of possession but struggled to break down a resolute Morecambe defence. McGoldrick was starved of support upfront, and our lack of rhythm in the first half cost us. The second half saw some improvement, especially with the introductions off the bench, but it was too little too late. Platt's equaliser was well-deserved, but we could have easily grabbed a winner with better finishing. The foul count was troubling, as it disrupted any momentum we managed to build. All in all, a decent point, but definitely room for improvement.
  21. I voted for David McGoldrick, but to be fair, I could have voted for a few others. However, I felt McGoldrick put in the best personal and team performance.
  22. Middlesbrough 2-2 Stoke City Millwall 1-0 Preston North End Blackpool 0-0 Burton Albion Wigan Athletic 0-2 Exeter City Gillingham 3-0 Barrow Joker Newport County 1-2 Crewe Alexandra Woking 0-1 Sutton United Yeovil Town 2-0 Aldershot
  23. Luton Town 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday Sheffield United 1-2 Derby County Bolton Wanderers 1-1 Reading Peterborough United 4-2 Bristol Rovers Joker Bradford City 0-1 AFC Wimbledon Salford City 2-2 Walsall Hartlepool United 3-0 Dagenham & Redbridge Oldham Athletic 2-3 Yeovil Town
  24. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the boys measure up against Gillingham. The unbeaten run has been impressive, but this will be one of the stiffest challenges yet. Notts have shown incredible strength at home, particularly with the attacking performances. The injury list is a bit of a worry, especially with Curtis Edwards, Cedwyn Scott and Scott Robertson. But Stuart Maynard has instilled a fantastic team spirit, and I believe the lads will rise to the occasion. Gillingham’s defence might be tough, but with our attacking prowess, we can break them down and grab the three points.
  25. I don’t see Junior Morias coming back. I think he will be on his way out when his contract runs out. I suspect they will extend his stay with them, and we will quietly forget he was here.
