  1. I voted for David McGoldrick, but to be fair, I could have voted for a few others. However, I felt McGoldrick put in the best personal and team performance.
  2. Middlesbrough 2-2 Stoke City Millwall 1-0 Preston North End Blackpool 0-0 Burton Albion Wigan Athletic 0-2 Exeter City Gillingham 3-0 Barrow Joker Newport County 1-2 Crewe Alexandra Woking 0-1 Sutton United Yeovil Town 2-0 Aldershot
  3. Luton Town 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday Sheffield United 1-2 Derby County Bolton Wanderers 1-1 Reading Peterborough United 4-2 Bristol Rovers Joker Bradford City 0-1 AFC Wimbledon Salford City 2-2 Walsall Hartlepool United 3-0 Dagenham & Redbridge Oldham Athletic 2-3 Yeovil Town
  4. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the boys measure up against Gillingham. The unbeaten run has been impressive, but this will be one of the stiffest challenges yet. Notts have shown incredible strength at home, particularly with the attacking performances. The injury list is a bit of a worry, especially with Curtis Edwards, Cedwyn Scott and Scott Robertson. But Stuart Maynard has instilled a fantastic team spirit, and I believe the lads will rise to the occasion. Gillingham’s defence might be tough, but with our attacking prowess, we can break them down and grab the three points.
  5. I don’t see Junior Morias coming back. I think he will be on his way out when his contract runs out. I suspect they will extend his stay with them, and we will quietly forget he was here.
  6. Did you enjoy your birthday, @CliftonMagpie? I hope you did. Happy Birthday!
  7. I think Stuart Maynard is showing a good understanding of the squad. He can’t be faulted, and it wasn’t due to him that we went 2-0 down. It was partly because of him and Jodi Jones that we came back, as his changes gave Notts more to fight for. The swing of the game became more encouraging as you watched on. The football at times was stunning, and we could have had more than 4 goals, just like Bromley could have had 3.
  8. I think when everyone in the team is playing well, we are unstoppable. Having key players who are clearly above this level is always encouraging, as it allows their quality to shine. Even David McGoldrick, at his age, is still showing both his class and experience. He’s just as important as anyone. It’s the squad that wins, draws, or loses, but it is special to have the talent of Dan Crowley and Jodi Jones among this squad.
  9. Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 QPR Swansea City 1-1 Norwich City Bolton Wanderers 2-0 Huddersfield Town Rotherham United 1-0 Burton Albion Carlisle United 1-1 Fleetwood Town Port Vale 2-1 Chesterfield Southend United 0-1 Sutton United ????Joker Tamworth 2-2 Maidenhead United
  10. Maynard’s tactical acumen will be tested against Bromley, a team known for their physical play and counter-attacks. His call for referees to protect players like Jodi Jones is essential, considering the rough treatment Jones often faces. Yet, Jones remains focused and professional, which is why his new contract is such a big win for us. The return of players like Alassana Jatta gives us an additional boost. Maynard's caution about the long road ahead is wise, but with the current form and unity within the team, it’s hard not to be optimistic. The fan support, especially away from home, adds another layer of strength to the squad.
  11. Colombia are a good team, so I’m not surprised. Brazil are quite weak in defence now, as their best defenders are getting older.
  12. It’s hard to keep going when you lose so many good players, but sanctions won’t help. This is typical for clubs at this level. Look at Bradford City, they’re a big club in League Two but struggle to keep their players. Yes, they have problems like the cost of their stadium’s lease, but they also have a constant turnover of talent. We’ve been there too
  13. The attendances are brilliant. I can understand how it can be overwhelming, but we have been stuck in the lower leagues for too long. If anything, higher gates should help the club get out of this league. I heap nothing but praise on the club and our owners for the amazing transformation. It shows we are doing the right things, which should eventually lead to promotion.
  14. Notts now have a much higher pressing game, where the moment they lose the ball, anyone is capable of winning it back. Losing Aaron Nemane seemed disappointing, but from a defensive point of view, I think we are stronger out wide. Nick Trousella could be the best player we have had on the left for some time. He is defensively solid and very good going forward. Accrington wasn’t so much awful as unable to play. They had attacks that could have got them back into the game, but defensively and in goal, Notts were top-notch.
  15. It’s brilliant to see Jodi Jones nominated for Player of the Month! He’s easily been one of the standout players in League Two this season. With three assists and two goals, his contribution is undeniable. His quick feet and sharp dribbling make him so exciting to watch, and he has a knack for turning matches in our favour.
  16. Brilliant result! McGoldrick’s finishing was on another level. Bass in goal was outstanding, making critical saves when needed. Abbott’s work in midfield was top-notch, breaking up play and linking up well. Solid performance from the team, against a disappointing dirty Accrington Stanley.
  17. I think this article really highlights how important it is for a player to feel settled. Alex Bass has had a tough few years moving around to different clubs, but it seems like he’s finally found a home at Notts County. It’s good to see him thriving here, especially with the faith the manager has shown in him. He’s been a solid presence in goal, and I think the fans appreciate his commitment and hard work. It’ll be interesting to see how he continues to grow as the season progresses, and I’m sure he’ll play a big part in any success we have this year.

  19. Today's victory was a solid win. It's great to secure a win away from home so early in the season. David McGoldrick once again demonstrated his experience and ability to turn games around with his two excellent goals. I'm pleased with the win.
  20. I don't think there's a need for such a statement. Some of our fans have been known to demand immediate answers, which can lead to responses. While this statement might discourage such behaviour, it's unnecessary. I'm sure the board and club worked diligently to secure players. The process is not as straightforward as some fans may believe.
  21. It's quite foolish to continue selling merchandise with incorrect spelling. If the mistake were only on the packaging, it might be understandable. However, having the wrong spelling directly on the merchandise is inexcusable. A sticker could cover up the error on the packaging, but there's not much you can do with a "Yeovl Town" scarf.
  22. It was a true test of character for Notts County and they passed with flying colours. McGoldrick’s performance was top-notch, with his second goal particularly impressive. The team’s response to going behind was commendable, they didn’t let their heads drop and kept pushing. The defensive effort at the end showed real mental toughness, with Bass making some vital saves. This kind of resilience and quality is what’s needed for a successful promotion campaign. This victory will surely boost the team’s confidence. Proud of the lads and looking forward to the next match. Let’s keep this momentum going!
  23. I love George Abbott’s attitude toward his new challenge with Notts County. Changing clubs after years at Tottenham must be tough, but he’s embracing it with open arms. His focus on playing men's football and the recognition of its importance for his career advancement, including potential national team appearances, is impressive. Enthusiasm for the training session and his quick integration with team-mates is a great start. As a defensive midfielder, his versatility will undoubtedly be an asset. It’s reassuring to hear that Notts style aligns closely with what he's accustomed to, ensuring a smoother transition. Eager to see how he impacts our performances this season.
  24. Derby County 3-2 Bristol City Plymouth Argyle 2-3 Stoke City Crawley Town 0-0 Barnsley Peterborough United 1-3 Wrexham Accrington Stanley 2-2 Colchester United Carlisle United 1-3 Tranmere Rovers Altrincham 0-2 Oldham Athletic Joker Gateshead 2-1 Eastleigh
  25. I’ve always been interested in football history, and Tom Keetley’s story is a perfect example of why. He wasn’t just a great player; he was a record-breaker and a key figure in Notts County’s history. The fact that his record for goals in a season stood for over 90 years speaks volumes about his talent. But what really makes his story stand out is the contrast between his success on the pitch and the challenges he faced after retiring. It’s sad to think that a player of his calibre struggled financially and with his health after giving so much to the game. This article really highlights the need for better support for footballers after they hang up their boots.
