  1. The loan players we’re bringing in seem to be plugging the holes that would be tricky to sort with permanent deals. I’d like to see Barry Cotter get a run out against Cardiff City, it would be a good chance to see what he can offer. I also hope the club is trying to bring in Neil Warnock and Andy Legg for the match. It’d be a nice way to honour the time they spent with both clubs and give them the welcome they deserve.
  2. Impressed with this one, no nonsense. He’s already got experience in League Two so he shouldn’t be shocked by the physical side. Scored a few for Accrington as well which means he could chip in from set pieces, that’s always handy. You can’t teach height and bravery and it sounds like he’s got both. Let’s see how he does, but on paper this is very tidy business.
  3. I get why some people might worry that a loan player might not give it everything, but Notts is a club that wants to win. If he wants to be on the pitch, he’ll need to play his part and work hard. I think, on paper, this looks like a solid signing. I’m a bit curious if Notts will try to sign Barry Cotter for good if he does well. It sounds like he wants to leave Barnsley anyway. I hope he starts strong and fits in quickly. We could be really exciting down the wings, and with the new players coming into the middle of the pitch, maybe we won’t be as easy to figure out.
  4. Stuart Maynard’s farewell was well done. It’s a good way to leave, especially at a club where some fans never gave him a real chance. I hope he gets another shot and proves himself in the EFL one day. What he did at Notts might not be seen as a failure by other teams, even with the big hopes we had.
  5. The Munto era was wild. It brought loads of attention to Notts and even helped bring some fans back. But over time, a few of those fans drifted away, either because of how the club spoke to supporters or because of the drop to the National League. I sometimes wonder what might have happened if the takeover never went ahead. In another universe, maybe Notts could’ve been the ones replacing Bournemouth or Brentford.
  6. Thanks for the update. Running a site like PON costs money, and I know it must be hard for a smaller community to stand out next to those big-name sites that get millions of visitors. It’s great that a club like Notts has a fan site like this. A big thank you to everyone who helps keep it going and to all the people who support it.
  7. A great breakdown of what’s been a busy and slightly chaotic few months! Norburn could be a cracking addition to our midfield, especially if Paterson gives him freedom to play forward. But the forward line worries me. Jatta and McGoldrick is a nice combo on paper, but injuries or fatigue could really hurt us. With McGoldrick gone, we desperately need someone who can score 15+ goals. I’d love to see a young, hungry striker brought in on loan or even a permanent deal. Defence also needs a bit of steel. We're getting there, but it's not quite ready yet.
  8. I do think it’s a bit poor that it took this long to make what feels like a low-key appointment. Still, as I said, Martin Paterson should get our backing. As fans, we need to support the club through this. If not for the board, then for Notts and the players who gave everything last season.
  9. It is what it is, and there’s not much we can do now. Everyone deserves a fair chance and the support to do their job. This might not have been the choice people expected, but even if the club had gone for someone like Des Buckingham, there’s no guarantee he would’ve been the right fit. I just hope the decision to bring in Martin Paterson was properly thought through, and not something rushed after missing out on someone else. I’m sure that’s not the case, but there is that doubt.
  10. Loving the sound of this Technical Board setup. It’s modern, data-driven and built for consistency. Football’s changed, and if we want to be sustainable and competitive, this is the kind of innovation we need. Gives the manager proper support and accountability without interference. If it works, other clubs will be looking to copy what we’ve built here.
  11. What a disaster it would be if Jatta were sold. Fans aren’t completely satisfied with the new arrivals, and while it’s still early days, losing such a key part of our setup would be a real setback. There will be plenty of rumours, but I won’t believe any without solid proof. So far, we’ve managed to keep hold of our players, and that’s exactly how it should be until next January. I understand that the club needs to sell at times to reinvest in the squad, but the timing has to be right.
  12. Having separate social media accounts is fine, but all news should be on the official site. It feels like the different departments struggle to work together, with each needing someone to do the same job but for separate areas.
  13. I don’t understand why Notts doesn’t announce things like this on the main site instead of using academy accounts. On some days, it would help to fill the space taken up by adverts from league sponsors. I’m happy to welcome Nimesh Patel to the academy setup and hope he proves to be a strong addition to the coaching team.
  14. What a partnership Cedwyn Scott and Macaulay Langstaff could have been for us if we had played them both as strikers. Nonetheless, both are icons of their time with us. Macca is a true legend for all he achieved, and Cedwyn will always be remembered for scoring the final penalty.
  15. I think if he settled and secured a place in the starting eleven, he would be a consistent threat to the opposition. He seems to be moving from team to team, but when he was good, he was very, very good.
  16. As long as the facilities are good and the players can train, I think we’ll be fine. Sharing and having an agreement with somewhere like the University of Nottingham seems like a smart choice. We were never going to be able to stay at Forest, as they will want the facilities for themselves, and it would have been difficult. Owning our own at this level seems unlikely.
  17. I think this is a clever move by the club. He’s clearly not afraid of the big stage, having played City and then gone on to feature in the Championship. You don’t get those chances unless you’re doing something right. What impresses me most is how he’s adapted to different roles, switching from a winger to a midfielder. That kind of flexibility is massive in a long season. He’ll give us options, and with his frame, I expect he’ll win more than his share of duels.
  18. What a signing Platt has been. He’s brought a level of organisation and aerial dominance that we’ve lacked in previous seasons. You can tell he takes pride in his defensive work, and that’s exactly what we need. It’s interesting to hear him talk about winning the second ball too, that’s something we’ve really improved on this season. The whole team seems more switched on defensively, and the clean sheet record speaks for itself. Port Vale away is going to be a tough one, but I’d back us to go there and get a result. If we come away with three points, it really puts the pressure on the teams around us. This squad feels like it has a real chance of doing something special this season.
  19. It's not going down well, is it? It probably will look a lot better in person, but saying it looks nice might still be a stretch. I would have thought Wrexham would have gone for something grander.
  20. He looks like a very good signing. If he can inject speed and take on players, it would give us creativity in the right area and not just potential goals. I think this might be more of a replacement for David McGoldrick, while he can still influence players around him and help them continue.
  21. Good luck to David McGoldrick. He's in fine form, and I hope it doesn't stop any time soon.
  22. So happy for Tsaroulla! He’s been quality all season, and it was only a matter of time before he got his goal. The way he speaks about the team and the fans shows his mindset, he’s all about pushing forward, improving, and staying focused. You can see why he’s such a popular player already. It’s great to hear him talking about the defence as well because we’ve come a long way from last season. Maynard has got them working as a unit, and you can tell the players trust each other. Winning tough away games like this shows we’ve got that extra bit of resilience now.
  23. I thought the whole squad played well, not just as a team but individually. Alex Bass made everything look comfortable and, although Accrington didn't test him much or pressure us, I think the defence and him made it easier to attack as a platform. Matt Palmer and Nick Tsaroulla deserve praise, but my vote goes to David McGoldrick.
  24. I think several players had a great game. Rod McDonald did an excellent job in defence, handling threats well. He had a few shaky moments, but he managed most tasks with ease. He headed high balls away effortlessly and dealt with advancing Swindon Town players. It seems a bit harsh to overlook his performance, even though I voted for David McGoldrick.
  25. This is one of those games where the details matter. Colchester is disciplined at the back, but our squad has the ability to rise to the challenge. Injuries have forced tough decisions, and I like that Maynard isn’t rushing players like Crowley back. It’s good to hear Platt and Abbott might feature, as we’ll need all hands on deck. Maynard’s emphasis on team spirit is key, getting the fans involved and keeping morale high makes a big difference. I’m hopeful the lads can bounce back after Walsall and put on a performance at Meadow Lane.
