  1. Granny Pie was one of us. It was incredibly sad when she passed away. She was proud of @Chris and her grandchildren. @super_ram I'm sure the many happy memories are a comfort to you.
  2. Robbed is probably the best description of today's events. Very harsh decision to rule out our goal. Notts were the better side. It was a weird day. Stockport hammered. Mansfield lost. As did Barrow.
  3. Wrexham are in a bit of a rut. They just about beat a very poor Sutton side in their last game. Bradford showed how to beat them at their place. Solid defending. Don't engage in their mind games and take your chance when it comes. They'll be well up for this game. It won't be boring.
  4. The change in tactics and personnel worked wonders. It's a badly needed 3 points. Hopefully we can build on this now. Back to Wales on Saturday and a real test against Hollywood FC.
  5. Newport's last league defeat was on December 23rd. They are in excellent form. They got to 2-2 against an almost full strength Man Utd in the FA Cup. Their style of play is perfectly suited to playing against us unfortunately. If they play well, I don't see us getting anything out of the game. We are not in a good place right now. We badly need a win.
  6. I'd happily settle for mid table if it meant SM and his system were fully bedded in for next season. We'll struggle to hit 50 points the way things are going. That may turn around later in the season. The last thing we need is more instability so SM is here for the foreseeable future so we should back him.
  7. Social Media is going to be busy tonight. There's a real danger that the season is going to fizzle out. We are so easy to play against.
  8. Tidy finish by Dan Crowley. Another assist for Jodi. Not the best defending for their equaliser. We should have been 2-0 up shortly before that.
  9. Gillingham haven't won in their last 3 games. They have only scored 3 goals. You couldn't blame them for looking forward to facing our defence but they will be in for a surprise. We are more solid at the back IMO. We badly need a win. Hopefully we get one.
  10. First, that pitch is awful. It prevented both sides from playing to their potential. Notts did enough to earn at least a point but didn't take their chances. Mansfield were their usual resilient selves and they will win promotion. I think we saw enough to be confident that Notts will push for a playoff spot.
  11. Mansfield deservedly beat us at ML. At full strength they are the best team in the division IMO. Luckily for us, they won't be at full strength but........this game may have come too soon for our new look squad. When the signings are bedded in, we should be a better side. Mansfield were robbed at Wimbledon last week. That's bound to give them extra motivation. They will play well against us, they always do.
  12. Barrow are a difficult side to break down. A point is a decent result. The defensive issues are still there but you can see how it will improve in time. An encouraging start.
  13. We drew 1-1 at their place. Notts had most of the possession but only 1 shot on target. You'd expect Notts to dominate possession at home. Barrow are a patient side and will wait for opportunities. I think Notts will be better defensively and that could be enough to secure a hard fought win.
  14. I don't see Notts conceding 5 at home. Stockport were never going to keep up the pace they were going at. The last few games are probably a better indicator of where they are at. They are probably the 3rd best team behind Mansfield and Wrexham. I think this will end in a high scoring draw. 3-3 is my guess.
  15. Kamikaze defending. Sublime attacking. No balance whatsoever. It's been a crazy ride up to now!
  16. The Saudis always have a Plan B. I think they'll throw their support behind the Super League in Europe now. Having Real Madrid vs Barcelona in Riyadh is better than what they have now.
  17. Being at Wembley to witness arguably the best NL playoff final in history was special. My friend is a WBA fan. He was with me at Wembley and he was completely involved. He was happier than me when Notts won ???? The icing on the cake was meeting Shane Meadows. I've seen every film and TV series Shane has made. He was so nice.
  18. Stone has had plenty of games and I hate to say it, but his performances haven't impressed me. We need a change. Brooks should be given a chance.
  19. It was always going to be a difficult game. Tranmere are flying. The defending was poor. Stone could have done better for a couple of the goals but he did save a penalty. I think it's time to give Tiernan Brooks a chance.
  20. A very impressive performance. Best of the season so far? I think so. The adjustments LW has made are having a very positive impact.
  21. Jamie Jellis is an excellent choice. Bags of potential. He would do well in League 2.
  22. That penalty decision was ludicrous. Thankfully justice was done and Notts cruised to victory. A badly needed 3 points. The performance was excellent. The crowd were loud. All in all, a great day all round.
  23. Stockport's confidence is sky high at the moment. They have been playing well. That 8-0 win against Sutton could easily have been 10 or 11. Notts have lost their way. There's a game plan but the players don't seem to have any confidence in it. I'd imagine a home win will be the first entry on many betting slips this weekend and you can understand why.
  24. It's hard not to think about relegation but I think we should be OK. Staying up is all I hoped for. Anything else is a bonus.
  25. No Plan B again. LW has a way of playing and it looks like he is sticking to it, even though every single team has worked out how to play against us. Stones is awful. Another error today. Our goal was a piece of individual brilliance. I honestly cannot see where the next point comes from.
