  1. Anyone know about parking down there? @Dan ?? Went to the old round a few times, never been to this one
  2. Going to the game tomorrow with the little lad, first time in a while I've been & will be able to go to most games in a month. Barnet need to win desperately so I think their style will suit us tomorrow, hopefully Tuesday's performance will be banished by a return to the Crewe last 80 minutes performance. Will keep this thread updated at half & full time
  3. Fitzsimmons, Tootle, Brisley, Hall, Jones, Hawkridge, Husin, Noble / Hewitt (depends on illness), Grant, Ameobi, Bennett. I've left Jon Stead & Richard Duffy out purely to give him a rest before the Crawley game. I have no faith that Fitzsimmons will play but for me he's the better keeper and also Collin doesn't look properly fit yet.
  4. It was a not bad attacking performance, likewise a not bad defensive peformance, being critical we need to release Jorge Grant earlier, countless times he had made brilliant runs on the left wing and every time the ball seemed to fall to either Hewitt or Hunt, neither of whom have the awareness to see such a pass. Hewitts energy is faultless, his positional sense though needs to be better, especially when defending, but as a team I didn't think we defended that well, mainly caused by this lack of awareness as other players were being dragged nto areas they shouldn't have been in. We miss Tootle as both he & Jones push the opposing team backwards but with only Jones doing this Crewe's left winger was cheating which allowed them an out ball most of the time. Our ball watching at times is criminal and you could see Crewe trying to expose this whenever they had a chance. Having said that going forward, Ameobi was class, his first touch is brilliant and the referee failed to spot a lot of fouls commited on him yesterday. Stead ran his nuts off as always, like with Ameobi the Crewe defenders were all over him like a rash, looked better once Bennett came on and took over the running. Alessandra will always give you an out ball but we miss Hawkridge in that position. Husin was class, always has time and has the ability to find time, a lone undermined skill that the best always posses. Grant got far more into the game once Bennet came on as he had someone on the same wavelength as him and these both helped Husin also as he was understanding the runs they made. If we could clear up the defensive mistakes then we'd beat any team we come up against in my opinion.
  5. We got found out to a degree and we need to be able to play another way. Whilst we have looked better once we went back to a 4-4-2 we can't play that way without Shola realistically. And tbf we're second, chill out and enjoy the second half of the season, if that means we finish 5th, 1st or 8th, its much better than it has been for several seasons.
  6. Think Alan should offer all home fans some bricks and prime location to the Wolves fans coaches if that scum make it to Meadow Lane. The scummiest of scummiest clubs & fans alike.
  7. If that is true we should start a crowd funding page
  8. ha ha Maybe I should predict a thrashing every round?
  9. All the games they have lost have come against teams that haven't let them settle and kept them turning, their centre halves aren't that quick like most teams with talented ball players, they are extremely good going forward if given the time to play their football, for me we need Dan Jones back in the starting line-up (nothing against Carl Dickinson he's been very good since getting back into the team) as his extra pace and forward ability will give their wingers & full backs something else to think about
  10. Wish they'd cross a couple of counties to my lads school, my lad would be so excited words couldn't explain it
  11. A new centre forward isn't going to stop the defenders just humping the ball forward at every opportunity. Whilst I understand we are league 2 and our play reflects this we have players capable of much much more and we aren't utilising the wingers we do have effectively as we are not playing to their strengths. Oxford caused us problems mainly by cheating, by that I mean several of their players didn't follow our midfield when we went forward as they knew that we would be bypassing them, better teams will punish us big time because of this
  12. Sorry mate but your smoking some strong weed if you think we have even the slightest hope against them, our weaknesses were badly exposed by a team two leagues lower and we will get whipped by any proper footballing side, especially one well known for keeping the ball on the deck with smart intricate passing. This is the reason why Alan Hardy will never attain the crowds he hopes for, whilst we might be winning games the standard of football is awful at best, Saturday we cried out for Liam Walker with his obvious quality on the ball to come on in the middle, bring the ball down and make use of the wingers and front runners but yet again we just resorted to thumping the ball into the clouds, not a single person I sat around on Saturday looks forward to watching us play with most only coming sporadically now due to the god awful nature of our tactic, yes it wins games but people want to be entertained and not feel like they are suffering from whiplash when they leave the ground.
  13. Fitzsimmons is the better goal keeper, he's only going to get better the more games he plays. I would think (without ever working it out) that if you counted the potential points gain from vital saves / saves they had no right to make (to coin that phrase) and the obvious loos from mistakes that Fitzsimmons would be by far the better statistically rated keeper. Lets not forget that Collin's run in the team was for the most part during the period in which we hit a purple patch and Fitzsimmons has been during our more difficult period so far.
  14. What a difference when we play the football we know they are capable of & we want to see, congrats KN for trying this style & long may it continue!! Its been a long long time since we were top of the league at the start of November, still in the FA cup and still had a shot at the league cup. (Is that what the caraboa cup thing is? I only ask as It just seems to me to be a vehicle for the FA to excuse the lack of opportunity home grown players get at most premiership clubs (Tottenham being the biggest exception))
  15. Yep we're in the market for some new balls, the current batch are suffering from travel sickness and have developed a fear of heights
  16. With that line up its quite obvious we are just going to lump it into the air again, we've got no one in midfield who can pass water let alone a ball. Whats the point of playing wingers if we are going to bypass them all day long?
  17. He (Nolan) has lost a lot of respect for what he said. Whilst yes I get the annoyance the picture of Noble did / might have caused the fact that as fans we want to see more than just boring hoof ball we are in the wrong. If he actually read most of the comments on social media (i'm only on this website but could imagine the rest) he would realise that as fans we are more than happy with our position and the remarkable turn around but because we want to see something other than boring old hoof it into the clouds he has a problem. Football is an entertainment industry and if he can't respect that we want to be enertained with some good football that we know they are capable of then he shouldn't say anything about it. We want him to be our manager for the long term and love what he has done but please accept that we want to see something different, especially now that opposing teams know what to expect.
  18. Do you feel that maybe we hoof it sometimes through that perspective player feeling pressure or doubting his own ability?
  19. Call me a football purist but I hate hoof ball, its the least imaginative and least skillful part of football. Why oh why sign players like Liam Walker & Liam Noble if we are going to bypass them by hoofing it? We only have one decent centre half so giving the opposition the ball back regularly isn't the best tactics in my book, play to your strengths is a term used a lot nowadays and whilst we have been doing something right to get into the position we have so far It strikes me that in recent games we have been found out as a hoof ball defensive team that if you get the ball down you can cause us one hell of a lot of problems. Not looking forward to the Luton game if we persist with this tactic.
  20. I am really happy we have signed him, we need his tenacity and guile in midfield, I'm confident he won't be getting himself into the situations he did last time. Great work again Notts and come on Liam Noble!!
  21. The tactics won't change as we will still hoof it irrelevant of opposition
  22. Managers keep certain players until they can find adequate replacements, if / when these have been found the managers then have the "honest" conversations, which mean you're not wanted so the players come to an agreement (usually 30% of salary left on contract) then they leave for pastures new
  23. Just depends on how Wycombe set up to play as everyone in the league knows how we play, keep the ball on the deck against us and we're in trouble like Coventry showed, we are always going to bypass the midfield with lumps upto the old men hoping for a mistake from the opposition and with Dan Jones going wandering constantly their right winger will have a field day. With this in mind I'm going for a Wycombe win 3-1.
  24. its going to be an easy afternoon for Chesterfield with that starting 11
  25. He certainly couldn't have been any worse than Jones. If he starts again, even ahead of Mavis the tea lady then we are going to have a long long winter. Because of our recent past it won't take too many more of those performances for the crowds to drop to pre-Hardy levels. In general I feel for Nolan as his nice guy attitude has seen him sign last seasons donkeys and his mates son's all because he can't tell someone to do one.
