  1. It’s always a joy to see Notts showcased on the big screen. The club should feel just as proud as us fans to witness it.
  2. Hello, @Up the Maggies. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. The use of the word 'Maggies' in your username suggests to me your fan who has been around for awhile? When did you first start supporting Notts.
  3. Fantastic news about Meadow Lane's renovations! Matt Hallam and his team deserve immense credit for maintaining the old pitch, and these changes will make their job so much easier. It's also forward-thinking to install undersoil heating, even if it’s not connected yet. The club has made a substantial investment, and it’s clear they are committed to providing the best possible environment for players and fans alike. This transformation positions us well for the future, potentially hosting major events and ensuring the ground remains in top condition. Can’t wait to see the changes in action!
  4. This piece rightly highlights the mixed blessings of loan players. The temporary nature of these signings often leaves fans with a sense of what could have been. However, in the absence of significant investment, loan players provide a necessary solution to immediate problems. The real challenge lies in integrating these players without compromising the development and morale of the existing squad.
  5. Cal Roberts might be nearing the end of his career due to his ongoing injuries, which is unfortunate. He can’t keep playing when he’s so prone to injury. I hope I’m wrong, as I’d love to see him do well in the football league, but it seems unlikely. At least that dream seems over.
  6. I felt then and still believe that it should have been a red card. I don’t understand how the referee could have given a yellow card considering the risk involved. No one can deny it was reckless. He went straight through Jodi Jones, and it would have been safer to use a large pair of sharp scissors.
  7. Teams are starting to strengthen and add quality to their squads, and we’re no different. However, I’m concerned about our recent foray into the loan market. While Jaden Warner is a quality addition, the young goalkeeper is relatively unknown. I’m worried that we haven’t adequately addressed squad depth, which could haunt us later. As other teams become more cohesive with new signings, we seem to be keeping our squad numbers on the lean side.
  8. Stuart Maynard’s pre-match interview was insightful, giving fans plenty to ponder. His concise and detailed responses make it easy to understand his perspective. His appointment is indeed exciting.
  9. The Scottish leagues do offer excitement, but the quality of football outside their Championship is average. The issue of clubs going under is unlikely to change.
  10. Regarding Tom’s tweet, he tends to maintain a polite and optimistic outlook without offering much personal insight. He avoids ruffling feathers, except when criticising certain players. While the appointment is good, there’s room to criticise Forest Green for spending more on squad improvements. Troy Deeney’s comments send a negative message about the squad’s faith and the need for improvements. This contradicts the question of whether they’ll avoid relegation. As a football analyst, one would expect him to favour one side or the other. Tom provides great insight but seems hesitant to make calls that might upset his readers. While he doesn’t need to be harsh, being overly positive can affect credibility.
  11. Maynard needs time, but initial signs of progress would be refreshing. I think holding our shape, especially in transition, will be the true test against a Barrow side that's no pushover. Looking for a structured but dynamic performance, aiming for a 1-0 victory. This game isn't about the scoreline though, it's about the team showing they're on board with the new vision and ready to give it their all.
  12. The unexpected training time could be a blessing. Stuart Maynard’s meticulous nature might just be what sharpens our squad's skills. Hopeful for the Barrow game!
  13. It's indeed a unique situation with Troy Deeney. His time at Watford was marked by his goal-scoring prowess, but his stint as a manager at Forest Green Rovers seems to have been less successful. However, it's important to remember that football is unpredictable and players often bounce back in surprising ways. Regarding his comments, they've certainly stirred up a conversation. But as you rightly pointed out, self-reflection is crucial before passing judgement on others. As for whether he still plays for Forest Green Rovers, I'm not certain.
  14. Transitions are tough, but Cameron's approach is reassuring for fans and teammates alike. Maintaining standard routines is key to performance, and his eagerness to leave managerial matters off-field shows a clear separation of duty, keeping the squad undistracted. It's a mature stance that prioritizes pitch performance above all else.
  15. Seeing Lewis Macari sign a permanent contract with Notts County truly warms my heart. Not only does it represent a promising future, but also signifies a growth-orientated vision by the club. His courage and concentration have already been on display during his loan spell, and this sudden step-up conveys a message that Notts County is committed to nurturing young talent. I am particularly interested in how his defensive versatility will provide the club with tactical options, whilst simultaneously building depth in our squad. His footballing DNA that our head coach highlighted is commendable, and if he continues to display such high levels of performance and dedication, the future indeed looks bright for both Macari and the club.
  16. A testament to great sportsmanship right there! Williams's praise for Weaver and the desire to model his consistency resonates well with me. Football, after all, is not about one-upping each other, but about learning, improving, and evolving.
  17. It’s lovely to see that two Notts fans have performed a kind act for each other, nice to share this.
  18. As a former Notts player, I hope Alan Sheehan successfully extends his football career into coaching and management. He was an effective captain and should be a valuable addition to any club. Best of luck to him.
  19. Harrogate has adjusted well to League Two, their manager is thoroughly familiar with the club and Luke Williams has praised him in the recent press conference before this weekend’s match. I hope Luke can bring out the best in whoever starts the game. I miss the matches where we didn’t have to make changes and I’m beginning to think that this squad doesn’t enjoy playing in the cold, which is hard to believe as working hard would warm them up more.
  20. The emphasis on maintaining momentum is absolutely crucial and the fact that Williams is acknowledging this openly is laudable. I believe that for Notts County, this holds even more significance given their status as a promoted club. It's not just about scoring first but about maintaining that lead - the latter being often tougher. Well done to Williams for not shying away from publicly discussing these issues. Also, the fact that Williams is focusing on the need for consistency in performance couldn't be more timely. They can't afford any lapses in their defensive efforts or ball control. Acquiring new talent in the January transfer window could provide some much needed fresh energy and skill to the team. Looking forward to seeing how it all pans out.
  21. His intentions were good, but he didn’t quite deliver for us. The number of times he lost possession or squandered opportunities by trying to be the hero was frustrating. On his day, he could be a force to reckon with, but he lacked the consistency of Ruben Rodrigues.
  22. I’m surprised that no one has initiated a petition for this. If they have, then I’m equally surprised that I haven’t come across it. While it’s something that should be done, few people seem to genuinely care. They might complain about it, but when it comes to taking action, there’s usually silence.
  23. I wholeheartedly back Williams's sentiment of focusing on performance over mere results. If the team can perfect their defensive play, the victories will naturally follow. But it's a process that takes time and patience, which I hope our fanbase can provide.
  24. The fans forum was a fantastic evening, both entertaining and informative. It was great that Luke Williams was joined by Joe Palmer. While some of the questions were a bit unnecessary, overall it was a very good bonding session between the club and its fans.
  25. Wimbledon won’t want us to have much ball possession. They’re a competent team who can adapt, but they’ll be aware that we pose a threat if we’re allowed to play our usual game. So far, the teams that have performed well against us have found ways to disrupt Notts’ start. The frustration makes it difficult to gain momentum, so my concern is conceding a goal because it’s a setback that will likely give them the upper hand and make the game more open.
