  1. Maynard needs time, but initial signs of progress would be refreshing. I think holding our shape, especially in transition, will be the true test against a Barrow side that's no pushover. Looking for a structured but dynamic performance, aiming for a 1-0 victory. This game isn't about the scoreline though, it's about the team showing they're on board with the new vision and ready to give it their all.
  2. The unexpected training time could be a blessing. Stuart Maynard’s meticulous nature might just be what sharpens our squad's skills. Hopeful for the Barrow game!
  3. It's indeed a unique situation with Troy Deeney. His time at Watford was marked by his goal-scoring prowess, but his stint as a manager at Forest Green Rovers seems to have been less successful. However, it's important to remember that football is unpredictable and players often bounce back in surprising ways. Regarding his comments, they've certainly stirred up a conversation. But as you rightly pointed out, self-reflection is crucial before passing judgement on others. As for whether he still plays for Forest Green Rovers, I'm not certain.
  4. Transitions are tough, but Cameron's approach is reassuring for fans and teammates alike. Maintaining standard routines is key to performance, and his eagerness to leave managerial matters off-field shows a clear separation of duty, keeping the squad undistracted. It's a mature stance that prioritizes pitch performance above all else.
  5. Seeing Lewis Macari sign a permanent contract with Notts County truly warms my heart. Not only does it represent a promising future, but also signifies a growth-orientated vision by the club. His courage and concentration have already been on display during his loan spell, and this sudden step-up conveys a message that Notts County is committed to nurturing young talent. I am particularly interested in how his defensive versatility will provide the club with tactical options, whilst simultaneously building depth in our squad. His footballing DNA that our head coach highlighted is commendable, and if he continues to display such high levels of performance and dedication, the future indeed looks bright for both Macari and the club.
  6. A testament to great sportsmanship right there! Williams's praise for Weaver and the desire to model his consistency resonates well with me. Football, after all, is not about one-upping each other, but about learning, improving, and evolving.
  7. It’s lovely to see that two Notts fans have performed a kind act for each other, nice to share this.
  8. As a former Notts player, I hope Alan Sheehan successfully extends his football career into coaching and management. He was an effective captain and should be a valuable addition to any club. Best of luck to him.
  9. Harrogate has adjusted well to League Two, their manager is thoroughly familiar with the club and Luke Williams has praised him in the recent press conference before this weekend’s match. I hope Luke can bring out the best in whoever starts the game. I miss the matches where we didn’t have to make changes and I’m beginning to think that this squad doesn’t enjoy playing in the cold, which is hard to believe as working hard would warm them up more.
  10. The emphasis on maintaining momentum is absolutely crucial and the fact that Williams is acknowledging this openly is laudable. I believe that for Notts County, this holds even more significance given their status as a promoted club. It's not just about scoring first but about maintaining that lead - the latter being often tougher. Well done to Williams for not shying away from publicly discussing these issues. Also, the fact that Williams is focusing on the need for consistency in performance couldn't be more timely. They can't afford any lapses in their defensive efforts or ball control. Acquiring new talent in the January transfer window could provide some much needed fresh energy and skill to the team. Looking forward to seeing how it all pans out.
  11. His intentions were good, but he didn’t quite deliver for us. The number of times he lost possession or squandered opportunities by trying to be the hero was frustrating. On his day, he could be a force to reckon with, but he lacked the consistency of Ruben Rodrigues.
  12. I’m surprised that no one has initiated a petition for this. If they have, then I’m equally surprised that I haven’t come across it. While it’s something that should be done, few people seem to genuinely care. They might complain about it, but when it comes to taking action, there’s usually silence.
  13. I wholeheartedly back Williams's sentiment of focusing on performance over mere results. If the team can perfect their defensive play, the victories will naturally follow. But it's a process that takes time and patience, which I hope our fanbase can provide.
  14. The fans forum was a fantastic evening, both entertaining and informative. It was great that Luke Williams was joined by Joe Palmer. While some of the questions were a bit unnecessary, overall it was a very good bonding session between the club and its fans.
  15. Wimbledon won’t want us to have much ball possession. They’re a competent team who can adapt, but they’ll be aware that we pose a threat if we’re allowed to play our usual game. So far, the teams that have performed well against us have found ways to disrupt Notts’ start. The frustration makes it difficult to gain momentum, so my concern is conceding a goal because it’s a setback that will likely give them the upper hand and make the game more open.
  16. Some sales are genuine, while others are just made to look appealing. I haven’t visited a physical store to buy a gift in a long time. The closure of many stores has led to an increase in online shopping, and the ones that are still open aren’t ones I would typically visit. The UK high street and shopping centres are a fading industry.
  17. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Darryl Chapman.
  18. Dan Crowley’s performances have been brilliant this season and it’s great to hear he’s excited about playing, which only proves the positive impact Notts County’s atmosphere has on its players. His recognition of the crucial role of recovered players like John Bostock and Richard Brindley also underscores his team spirit.
  19. I must say, Notts County’s journey this season has been something to behold. Their swift climb up to the top end is indicative of a team that's putting their all into every match, reaching for their zenith. Also, feature players stepping up when it matters most have been a significant driving force behind the team's success. While it's unfortunate regarding Jones' suspension, it's heartening to hear that the rest of the squad is fit and ready to go. It helps underscore the team's depth. I'm confident in Notts' ability to turn this into a classic encounter.
  20. The work of our executives in connecting with fans shouldn't go unnoticed, their dedication to nurturing this connection sets us apart from many clubs. It allows us to feel that our voices are indeed heard.
  21. Notts must strive for the points, with performances needing to return to a consistent level. A victory over Crewe could serve as a catalyst for rejuvenation. I don't underestimate Crewe, as they should adopt the same approach. Neither our team nor theirs should settle for a draw.
  22. Sometimes you just have to be a part of something different. No doubt, he could play at a higher level, and it's a great signing. His age would see him start to consider his options, and if he wants to play, coming here could prolong his career. Good luck to him.
  23. With Warnock’s retirement, we should expect to see him on TV as a commentator, even if it’s not as frequent as when he was managing a club. The response to the chant is fantastic.
