I think a striker would be enough to give us more firepower up top. I do like Jatta starting. I think he’ll thrive playing at Meadow Lane, but he should be able to pick up some goals on the road. So, I wouldn’t want his chances being reduced. I just feel that a striker of a different style would be good in certain situations.

My perspective is that if this was a future game, Notts would have been more persistent with their efforts on goal and would have won it on another day. With it being the first game of the season and the dust of the pre-season having settled, I do like what I see. You can see how more confidence in the defence will benefit Notts going forward with more time and effort. I don’t feel disappointed or that the game was boring. It wasn’t the most exciting, but at the same time, it wasn’t dull. It’s a typical first game of the season, where Notts showed some real quality in the second half. Just one of those chances could have paid off and made all the difference. I don’t think anyone should be complaining.

What a performance from our lads, even if it did end in a draw. We completely dominated the game with over 65% possession - you don't see that too often in an away match. Tranmere's defence held strong, but they were lucky not to concede. Our debutants showed great promise and Bass in particular was a standout. If we keep playing like this, the results will come.
