  1. It's a pleasure to see the Faces of PON making a comeback. The sheer quality it brings is evident, and I can't help but wish that more Notts fans could fully grasp the extent of the gaffer's contributions to all of us.
  2. Brilliant work, @ARLukomski! Keep up the great efforts and remember to keep that smile going! Your vlogs have truly become an integral part of our community. It's fantastic to witness their return to PON as well, providing you with extra visibility. Hopefully, we'll get the chance to interact with you more on the forums, as your insights are always sensible and valuable. Looking forward to following this season's journey and relishing your videos just as much.
  3. The game usually always opens up in the second, it's a strong showing and our lads are chasing everything. There's a feeling this could end up 5-0. Macaulay Langstaff acknowledging our end after his second with a real big grin says it all for me.
  4. Certainly, if we secure a good position at the end of the season, those currently expressing dissatisfaction and failing to recognize the club's progress will likely be content by season's end, erasing their earlier stance. John Bostock aptly notes that the ultimate measure is the final position attained. The club merits a better standing after the previous season's efforts, but the presence of misguided complainers has hindered us for years. Thankfully, our dedicated following supports the team fervently, quelling negativity.
  5. Luke Williams is in the process of adjusting, and his approach is apparent through his willingness to express his thoughts. Unlike previous managers, he does not shy away from sharing his opinions, which results in engaging pre- and post-match interviews. He is effectively translating his ideas from the team, though there might be instances where injecting fresh energy through timely alterations could be considered. Despite this, he remains a commendable manager, consistent with his performance from last season. Our team maintains its strength, displaying a fighting spirit that will undoubtedly intensify as we further acclimate ourselves to the challenges of League Two.
  6. It would be pleasing to witness Notts secure the victory; presently, my intuition leans towards a final score of 1-1. Nonetheless, I earnestly hope that we can begin accruing points that elevate our position in the league. Doncaster won't prove as straightforward as the league table might imply; they performed decently against Mansfield, a respectable team at our level.
  7. Looking forward to the game! Doncaster Rovers haven't had a great start, but Notts mustn't get too comfortable. We need to stay focused, score well, and keep our defence strong. This match is a challenge for Luke Williams' choices in the lineup. Langstaff will be watched closely, but I'm confident he'll step up and show his skills.
  8. Yes, Julie's love for Notts is inspiring! It's amazing to see how her passion for the team has been passed down through generations, from her parents who met through supporting the team, to her 11-year-old grandson Harvey. @magpiejue's story is a nod to the love we all have about out football club. Thank you for sharing her story with us!
  9. I believe the result was fair. There weren’t many clear-cut chances, but you can appreciate the work that has gone into the squad. Luke Williams has done well to recover from the opening defeat and lift the players. The win against Grimsby proved to be vital, and Morecambe could have been another three points, but it just wasn’t meant to be. The players will dig deeper. As long as we are safe, I am happy.
  10. I agree with Luke Williams’ thoughts on the game. We played well and had opportunities. The defence is improving, but some of the mistakes made by Aidan Baldwin and Kyle Cameron need to be reduced. They are good players, but they need to focus more and think about their actions. I hope we can involve Macaulay Langstaff more in the play. He puts in the effort and runs around, but so far, we haven’t included him in the action as much as we should have. Otherwise, it’s all quite promising.
  11. A goalless draw isn't the worst outcome; it was a satisfactory trip and we returned with a positive result. At this juncture, considering our uncertainty about Notts and other League Two teams, achieving a clean sheet feels like a significant accomplishment, particularly after the performance against Sutton. We are making gradual progress, and I am of the opinion that we are becoming a stronger team. Just because we controlled the game doesn't necessarily guarantee that we'll find the net.
  12. Notts have struck the crossbar! A highly promising opportunity, but we must persist in our efforts. The team seems to be growing in confidence following that chance, and Jodi Jones is striving to create a breakthrough.
  13. I feel a bit nervous as we are approaching, and I am also hoping that the Grimsby win propels our team towards back-to-back victories. The first win away from home is important, but with Morecambe being a strong League Two team, they may present challenges. Every team at this stage is unfamiliar to us, but I think Luke Williams will have the right approach.
  14. I hope it's not a draw, but I must admit it has that outcome all over. I hope we can start positively because when we do, Notts often control the game and handle the opposition much better. Morecambe won't be any pushovers, but we have the quality to test them, so hopefully defensively we are robust enough to handle them.
  15. The result for me is the main thing, I wished we could be more positive in our attack in the first half. Scoring always seems to give Notts a boost and then our confidence comes from that, but whenever we attack the KOP, Notts just seem to control the game and it almost becomes routine. I really felt like we always stood a chance of winning, we just needed that quality and it's largely down to Jodi Jones that we did pick up the points. I find comments about Arron Nemane to be very misleading, he wasn't wasting time. He literally had no good options to throw the ball, Grimsby made it a point to close down any options, and our players were way too static in this department. Aidan Stone should have been warned, but I think his drink of water leading to the yellow card was just the referee being trigger-happy with his cards. Yes, the backward passing needs to be stamped out. Just hit the corners in, I don't see why we always insist on taking them short.
  16. To be fair, I didn’t hear as much nonsense after going behind or due to some of the mistakes, which was good. I think the majority of the Kop just wanted to support the lads, and the support wasn’t just when we scored or led the game; we sang throughout, despite a few quiet spells. I think that’s the encouragement the players need. It was there at Sutton, but I think nerves got the better of them. Jodi Jones showed his class as always; it was such a pleasing sight to see him take on the opposition. Hopefully, this result will be the boost we need to crack on.
  17. In the first half, I thought we looked quite decent. However, we were very indecisive when going forward and played the ball back too many times, which killed any momentum we had gained. Instead of opening up the play, it became frustrating to see us get somewhere on the pitch where it looked like we could make something happen, only to bring it all the way back to the keeper or last defender. This tendency of not making space or having players move can cause unnecessary problems. In the second half, things were very routine. I think David McGoldrick played very well in both halves. He and Jodi Jones linked up nicely, allowing others to get more involved in the game.
  18. It is commendable that Notts took some time off after the last season to rest and recharge before resuming their training. This demonstrates their understanding of the significance of balancing hard work with rest and recovery. Such an approach is likely to benefit them in the long run. By allowing themselves time to recuperate, the team can return to training with renewed energy and focus. This can help them to perform at their best and achieve their goals for the upcoming season.
  19. It is crucial for Notts to start the season with a positive result. Securing that first victory can provide a tremendous sense of relief, and I don’t believe we will have an easier opportunity for an opening game. This is not meant to be disrespectful towards Sutton United, but they will be fortunate to finish near mid-table. It is commendable that they have managed to retain their place in the EFL and even build upon their debut, but I suspect they may be one of five teams that might struggle as the season draws to a close. It is important not to underestimate them, as Notts did when Sutton United beat us to secure promotion, and it would be painful if history were to repeat itself. We have a strong squad that needs to fight for each other and for us, in order to secure those vital opening day points.
  20. This was a very good article, gaffer! The pre-season has been more successful than some fans might think. We lost to Stoke City and some fans lost their minds over it, but that’s just the nature of fickle fans. Every club has them. But if we go on to do better as a result of what we learned from that game, then those same fans will be the first to forget what they said. They’ve probably already forgotten or deleted their comments, just so they can say “I knew this would happen” later on. I’m thankful that Luke Williams doesn’t pay any attention to social media.
  21. The signings and squad look good on paper, and the whole club appears to be in a great position. If we can start the season off well, I think the momentum will grow, allowing things to build naturally. With this being our first season back, there’s no reason why we can’t do as well as Stockport County. Good teams need to play against them too. The fact that our standard has improved, as has the opposition, means I think we will rise to the challenge.
  22. It’s good that Luke Williams is ready for League Two. We played well against teams in the National League, and we were above most of their level. Were all the performances great last season? No, but we got the much-needed results. Winning and playing well is great, but the points are what we need. Let’s get off to a flying start and work harder than we have. We’ll be right behind the lads; they can do us proud again.
  23. The squad is very settled right now. We managed to retain most of the players and added depth in the areas required. So, with the new faces, we are going to need to adapt a little, and pre-season was all about that. Replacing Ruben Rodrigues isn’t easy; it’s one of those areas where we need to dig deeper, but David McGoldrick has done superbly since signing, and his goal against Alfreton has sparked him to take more chances. I understand the mixed feelings, but I don’t think there are any major concerns.
  24. The draw doesn’t bother me, nor does the performance as such. I think both teams would probably agree that the draw was fair, considering the 90 minutes overall. I thought Notts looked sharp getting forward but could just do with taking a bit more time with the finishing. On to Sutton away, which I think will be a different story.
  25. It’s a private jet, isn’t it? Does anyone know for sure what the fuel emissions are? The tabloids are digging deep into this. Yes, it’s excessive, but without all the facts, I can’t really comment. I have seen Notts fans on Twitter talking about it, which makes me laugh because I wonder how eco-friendly they are. Hopefully, the plane is low in carbon and uses sustainable aviation fuels. If this is the case, fair play. If not, maybe it should.
