  1. Tom’s thoughts on Fleetwood’s preparations and gameplay are interesting. The experience of players like Charlie Adam is important, and new signings like Mark Helm bring fresh energy. Even though they were recently relegated, Fleetwood seems eager to bounce back. Their performance in the League Cup against West Brom shows their determination. For Notts, it will be crucial to manage Fleetwood’s enthusiasm and attacking style. We need a strong midfield and active forwards. It’s exciting to look forward to such a competitive match early in the season. Thanks to Tom for sharing his views, it’s always good to hear from the other side.
  2. Such a tough way to be knocked out of the cup! Notts started so brightly, and the first-half goals were superb. It looked like we had the game in the bag, controlling possession and dictating play. The second half was challenging as Shrewsbury came back strong, and unfortunately, our defence couldn’t hold out. The penalty shootout was a tense affair, and it’s always a gamble. I think our team can hold their heads high despite the result. The effort and determination shown were commendable, and there are plenty of positives to build on. We must stay focused and aim to channel this performance into our league games. The season is long, and there will be more opportunities.
  3. Connor Grant’s enthusiasm for joining Notts good to see! It’s reassuring to hear how well he seems to align with the team’s style of play. His comments about wanting to get on the ball and make things happen show he’s ready to take on responsibility in midfield. The fact that he’s comfortable playing both as a number 10 and number 8 gives us flexibility, which is always a plus. I think the club’s ambitions, combined with Stuart Maynard’s vision, could be the perfect environment for him to develop his game.
  4. Nice set of photos. Pleased to see fans happy and wearing our various colours.
  5. Great player, Jeff Astle. He was such a good player coming through to Notts, always working hard on his game. He’s a legend at Notts, but at West Brom, he’s almost a god to them.
  6. It’s a start the team can build on. Quite frustrating that we couldn’t get a win, but it wasn’t through a lack of effort or trying. Tranmere just made it hard, but Bass was excellent in goal.
  7. Quite frustrating, but the team showed promise. Bass was brilliant in goal.
  8. I never rated him highly. I thought he was decent enough, but he wasn’t the quickest and always seemed to want the ball delivered straight to him. People criticised Yoann Arquin for this reason, but Balint Bajner was far more lackadaisical.
  9. The Nest is fantastic. It’s going to be a significant source of revenue for Notts. I believe it can only bring good things.
  10. Kane Hemmings would have certainly benefited from being in a squad like ours now. I have no doubt that he would have been clinical. He’s such a strong player at this level, Crewe should be thrilled with the signing.
  11. Notts have the upper hand, as others have pointed out, bids don’t mean much. If the club knows there’s interest, they can safeguard their asset by fostering competition to sell to the highest bidder. That being said, I’m not entirely convinced that Millwall would splurge such a large sum on a single player. The reported amount might not be entirely accurate, who can say?
  12. It’s heartening to see the players back. They’ve hopefully had a restful break and are ready for the new season.
  13. It looks splendid, and I have no objections. With all the new shiny things, one might wonder if we’re bracing for some unpleasant news. But no, I don’t believe so.
  14. Thrilled about Alex Bass signing! His stellar performance and leadership at AFC Wimbledon speak volumes. With Platt and Bedeau, our defence is solid. Here’s to a season of strong defence and triumphs with Bass!
  15. I can’t contain my excitement about Alex Bass joining us. Having watched him play for AFC Wimbledon, I can say we’re getting a top-notch goalkeeper. His clean sheet record alone is incredibly impressive, but it’s his leadership at the back that will make a huge difference. With Platt and Bedeau also joining, our defence is shaping up nicely. I’ve got high hopes for the upcoming season with Bass as our last line of defence. Here’s to fewer defensive struggles and more victories!
  16. Transitioning into the full-time scene has its challenges, but Maynard's approach and the teams’ verve he’s fostering bodes well for us. What struck me most about his words was the attention to both attack and a solid defence. It's a holistic brand of football we’re looking at. Teams won’t know what hit them!
  17. Fantastic to hear about Jaden Warner joining us on loan. Reading through his credentials, I am particularly impressed by his experience in the Canaries’ academy, which speaks volumes about his grounding in the sport. Not to mention those starts in the Sky Bet Championship! Having a player who is comfortable with the ball and can contribute to the defence as well as the build-up play is quite a catch for us. It’s clear the club is making strategic decisions to strengthen the squad, and with Warner standing at 6 foot 4 inch plus his exceptional speed, I’ve got a good feeling he’s going to fit in just fine. The backline sure is looking tougher by the day!
  18. Yes, I spotted this during a programme exploring the first two Home Alone films on Sky Max HD. It’s one of the superior Christmas tunes, so thankfully it’s not any of this trendy modern music.
  19. The sad part is, our defence has been poorer on many occasions this season. Hats off to Harrogate for their impressive play.
  20. I’m rather pleased with the team selection, especially with the return of Kyle Cameron and David McGoldrick. My only worry is our defence, which seems a bit weak. We don’t have many attacking options if we need fresh ideas or if an offensive player gets weary. However, this could give James Sanderson another chance.
  21. Welcome @StanfordPie, hello! ???????? Keep commenting when you can.
  22. Hello, @Robbie__64, Welcome to PoN. I hope you find the site and community to be good fun.
  23. Isn't it just wonderful to see a player's journey from non-league to League Two? Langstaff shows us that ambition and determination are the key attributes of any successful footballer... what a year 2023 has been for him and Notts County!
  24. Learning from seasoned professionals like David McGoldrick – brilliant! Fantastic for squad growth.
