  1. Welcome to the community here at PON, @JC1966.
  2. Yes, I believe you've hit the nail on the head. Well said, @Chris. I concur with your points. Notts County appears to be adapting to life in League Two. Saturday could hold immense importance!
  3. Luke Williams has been making adjustments and has implemented numerous positive changes. I did wonder why Aaron Nemane wasn't in the starting lineup, but regardless, I believe it was a form of precaution and strategic advantage. With our ample squad depth, we can afford to make such alterations and preserve players for more significant matches. Nemane will now have additional time to rest before the Tranmere Rovers game. The entire squad has a week off, although it varies slightly for those who have played extensive minutes and are in recovery.
  4. I thoroughly enjoyed watching your vlog, @ARLukomski. I always do! It's one of the things that makes me nostalgic for the matches I can't attend, even when Notts County might not be performing at their best. In this instance, they were excellent, and the crowd noise was incredible.
  5. Excellent pictures of the fans at Donny, @Chris. It's good to have the Faces of PON back for the new season!
  6. Macaulay Langstaff's inclusion on the score sheet was well-deserved. He displayed a spirited performance and pursued numerous balls that previous strikers might have neglected. His determination to secure his inaugural goal was palpable, which makes his brace even more satisfying. I had even hoped for a third goal from him! The team's overall performance was outstanding, particularly during the second half. Regardless of the opinions voiced by Doncaster fans, our victory was well-earned, and our performance highlighted their shortcomings.
  7. John Bostock is aware that his primary focus is on his individual performance and Notts County. While it's pleasant to hear his reflections about a former club we are set to face, these thoughts hold little relevance to the current situation. After all, it's unlikely that he would speak ill of them or behave poorly. It's essentially a minor narrative, but his responses have certainly prevented it from fading into insignificance.
  8. The match seemed rather comfortable overall. While it's commonly said that there are no easy games in football, once we found the net, Doncaster couldn't have made it much simpler for us. They struck me as one of the weakest teams I've witnessed in a long while. I believe they would face significant challenges even in the National League. Although they made Notts work for the goals they scored, their performance was exceptionally lackluster. Contrary to the opinions of some of their fans, they didn't make us appear good; it was the moment Langstaff scored that we truly came to life. In the second half, we dominated them entirely and a 5-0 victory wouldn't have been unexpected. While the referee's decisions were bothersome, I've chosen to accept them. I'm relieved that the players also shared this perspective, as it could have posed difficulties otherwise. We must exercise caution regarding the number of cards we accumulate. Perhaps this is also a reason why Aaron Nemane wasn't included in the starting lineup? It's plausible that Williams wants to prevent suspensions from occurring.
  9. I'm keen to explore the possibility of assembling a group of regular participants who can convene simultaneously. During these sessions, we could engage in conversations about the club's history and reminisce about past memories. Before commencing these live discussions, we could highlight specific topics and allocate a few members to initiate the conversations. Subsequently, someone like @Chris, or any designated person, could promote these discussions on social media. This could potentially attract more attention to the forum, and if we manage to make the discussions intriguing, it's likely that others will join in as well. The live discussions feature is highly advantageous and aligns well with the subject matter of match topics.
  10. I believed at the time that the extension was carried out for two reasons: firstly, to provide a boost after the defeat against Sutton United, and secondly, to safeguard the club against offers which they consider unacceptable. It's excellent news, regardless of the underlying reason. Now that he has scored, I believe he will demonstrate that his initial struggles were merely a requirement for settling into the new season. He's an exceptionally skilled and unique striker who warrants our support even during goal droughts.
  11. I hold an appreciation for the club's history, even though I possess limited knowledge of the past. This has sparked an idea in me regarding fan contributions. The photograph is splendid, particularly those featuring Jimmy Sirrel and Jack Wheeler – they are worth sharing.
  12. Hello, @MagpieRoy. It's great to have you with us, so welcome from me too.
  13. Hello, @helcat. Welcome to PON. I hope you become a part of our community.
  14. As soon as we manage to stabilize the squad and string together several matches with a consistent line-up, I anticipate greater consistency. While I don't perceive it as the core problem, I do regard it as a crucial aspect of the solution. It's essential to bear in mind that cultivating a resilient mindset and a cohesive unit of eleven players, all in good form, is instrumental in achieving victory. I view the Doncaster match as an excellent opportunity for us to excel on the road. While I anticipate them putting up a fight, I have faith in our quality.
  15. Dedicated effort typically yields positive results. Our squad is respectable, and occasionally, one must commence from an unforeseen point, ultimately reaping the rewards through persistence. Luke Williams' assessment is accurate; he comprehends the squad's status. While the loss to Sutton was unforeseen and understandably disheartening, persistently overlooking the strides we are making is unnecessary.
  16. Queens Park Rangers 2-0 Ipswich Town Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Preston North End Cambridge United 1-0 Bristol Rovers Joker Carlisle United 0-2Exeter City Grimsby Town 3-1 Mansfield Town Sutton United 1-2 AFC Wimbledon Rochdale 0-2 Eastleigh Wealdstone 3-2 AFC Fylde
  17. Highlighting John Bostock's sentiment, "And having their unwavering support, both at home and away every week, holds immense significance." This underlines the remarkable dedication of attending fans; their continued backing is crucial, and eventually, positive outcomes will follow suit. The previous season carried an almost surreal quality, verging on the magical, a sentiment I, as a devoted Notts fan, had never previously encountered. While I may not have firsthand recollections of our previous promotion, we are faced with an enduring struggle to attain similar heights. Let's rally behind the team, journey to Doncaster, and return with our deserved recompense. With any luck, that will encompass three points and yet another unblemished defensive record.
  18. Given our current position, an away victory would be highly beneficial for Notts, particularly one that instils confidence in the players. Our record stands at two games with clean sheets and undefeated, a streak I trust we can uphold. Looking ahead, I anticipate Notts will create numerous opportunities on goal. It is imperative that we capitalize on chances from beyond the penalty area on occasion, along with delivering crosses and seeking to breach the defensive line.
  19. Nearly took the lead with David McGoldrick, extended his foot but couldn't quite make contact. Aaron Nemane is causing issues on the flanks.
  20. @menzinho I wouldn't necessarily agree. I believe Wrexham is aiming to enhance their squad's strength, and he would integrate effectively into their system. Paul Mullin's injury shouldn't be overly severe, but it will take several months for him to recover. It appears to me that they are attempting to acquire a versatile player who can fulfill various roles, rather than seeking a long-term remedy for an injury.
  21. Notts must shift away from the notion that 'anybody' can win and strive for consistency. Achieving this would bring significant relief and advantages to the squad's future. I do realize that none of the teams may have found their best form yet, but such circumstances can always change. My point is that we need to be better prepared.
  22. It's great to see these articles returning. I'm uncertain about what Notts should anticipate from Morecambe, but I am hopeful for a victory on our part. Langstaff really could use a goal!
  23. Luke Williams is correct in his assessment. It felt like our team had returned to form, but it's important not to dwell on the past two games. This is a new beginning and we now have something to defend. The win was particularly satisfying, especially since we managed to come back twice against a team of rivals. It's always a great feeling to triumph over adversity and emerge victorious. Hopefully, this marks the start of a successful run for our team.
  24. I am impressed by the spirit that the players showed and how they handled the setbacks in the game. It’s one of those things to go behind in games, but to have the quality to turn it around is extremely positive. It’s good that the crowd showed its full support. Usually, idiots do become audible, but it was as if we were one. The 12th man is our advantage in games like this.
  25. Barnsley 2-2 Peterborough United Northampton Town 1-3 Lincoln City Shrewsbury Town 2-0 Burton Albion Colchester United v AFC Wimbledon Crewe Alexandra 0-1 Newport County Stockport County 1-2Bradford City Joker Eastleigh 1-0 Barnet Woking 0-0 Rochdale
