  1. If we take todayโ€™s performance as an indicator, I believe we can keep getting better. Stockport County is a strong team in this league. Iโ€™m not fond of discussing budgets as itโ€™s not a fair comparison. Performance is what truly matters. Being the home team would have given them an advantage, so Iโ€™m happy to see signs of improvement.
  2. Hello! Great to be welcoming you to the Pride of Nottingham @StanfordPie. It's nice to see you are already joining in, make yourself at home.
  3. We need to recognise our current situation and put an end to the drama. If the players can address whatโ€™s hindering us, a positive outcome is all we need. I doubt this will happen against a strong Stockport County, but Iโ€™m weary of the constant negativity as if weโ€™re facing relegation.
  4. We needed a faster player in defence. Hopefully, with his addition and further development, we will see more from him. Lewis Macari is an exceptional talent, and Iโ€™m delighted that he has joined us permanently.
  5. Iโ€™m scared of losing, and so would most people given how well Stockport County are performing. It would be fantastic to achieve something, and I agree it could boost our confidence. I donโ€™t think we need to fret if we lose, but hopefully, weโ€™ll see signs of progress and determination.
  6. Itโ€™s never smooth sailing. I sympathise with Luke Williams, but heโ€™s making errors too. I concur with the suggestions to stabilise the back three and attempt to resolve the issues. If the players arenโ€™t receptive, he needs to replace them with those willing to make the necessary changes. The first choice should be to work with a consistent back three if possible.
  7. Best of luck to Michael Doyle. I understand the remarks about him being a football mercenary, but he should excel as a manager as long as he doesnโ€™t abandon his post at the first sign of success.
  8. No Kyle Cameron? That seems like a significant change in the squad. I hope it turns out to be a good decision. Since Cameron isnโ€™t even on the bench, I donโ€™t know if heโ€™s injured or just been told to rest. I would have made John Bostock the captain, but letโ€™s hope Macaualay Langstaff can energise the squad and score a goal or two.
  9. I'd completely overlooked him. He's the sort of former player the club should consider inviting back for a match, given his intriguing seasons with us.
  10. Such is the nature of football, fans come and go. The crowd where I sit has changed significantly since I first started attending games, so itโ€™s no surprise that PON has experienced similar changes. I hope the members who have left know they would be welcomed back and encouraged to share their thoughts.
  11. We stand with you, our leader, our captain. In Notts, we have faith! Itโ€™s time to forge ahead and get the season back on the right path. Hopefully, weโ€™ll start this Saturday and strive to build some consistent form. There will be some errors, but as long as weโ€™re winning or learning, progress will follow.
  12. Luke Williams is truly commendable, always shielding his team and providing explanations that soothe everyone. Letโ€™s rally behind the team and recreate the magic of the seasonโ€™s start. That was a remarkable time. Letโ€™s see if we can instigate a change with uplifting chants and exceptional support.
  13. Personally, Iโ€™d prefer if the club owned the stadium and land outright. Considering the problems other clubs have faced with owners exploiting the stadiums, itโ€™s a worry, but I think itโ€™s better for the club to own its assets. Ultimately, itโ€™s up to the Reedtz to decide. If theyโ€™re not interested in buying, I respect that. If they do want to buy the land, I hope theyโ€™ll consider ways to ensure the ground stays with the club, regardless of who owns Notts County.
  14. Iโ€™m hopeful that Notts will kick off with energy and maintain it throughout the game, which I believe would boost the playersโ€™ morale. While a clean sheet might be a stretch, I do hope weโ€™ll see an improvement in our defence compared to the Shrewsbury Town match. This game presents a great opportunity to earn 3 points and stay in contention at the top. A loss could see us fall behind in the playoff race. My prediction is a 2-1 win for us.
  15. Most companies care more about their profits and board. They donโ€™t even care about their workers, so why would they care about us? Feargal Sharkey is a typical Dickensian character.
  16. Itโ€™s brilliant when a young player excels. The academy is doing a lot of good work, and I agree, Notts needs to make it worthwhile. Otherwise, itโ€™s pointless. People might say none of them have been good enough, but the only way to know for sure is to give them game time to develop their experience. If not, itโ€™s just untapped potential and somewhat a waste of time. Iโ€™m also wary about setting unrealistic expectations, so I hope our young professionals just concentrate on their game.
  17. The second half was far from dreadful, largely due to our impressive performance and the four goals we netted. This might create unrealistic expectations, leading people to believe we can consistently deliver such high standards throughout a full match. However, even top-tier teams like Manchester City donโ€™t always shine for the entire 90 minutes. Were we good? Absolutely. Could Notts have performed better? Undoubtedly. But this is a fair reflection of the nature of football.
  18. Iโ€™m pleased itโ€™s been sorted out. This is a great write-up, and including Luke Williamsโ€™ comments will show that itโ€™s completely valid.
  19. Tommy Lawtonโ€™s transfer to Notts County highlighted the urgent need for fair wages for footballers in those times! He truly paved the way for a new era!
  20. Dan Gosling should adapt quickly to our style of play, given Bournemouthโ€™s attacking approach in the Premier League. It might be a bit different without Matt Palmer, but thatโ€™s not necessarily a bad thing. Even though itโ€™s a short-term contract, Iโ€™m trying not to get too excited.
  21. His honesty is commendable. I appreciate that he refuses to collect a wage for merely warming the bench or missing match days. It speaks volumes about his character and, in my opinion, makes him more of a true footballer because he simply doesnโ€™t care. Thereโ€™s a stark difference between being a team player who waits for their chance and someone who actively takes money for doing nothing, draining the fans and the club.
  22. If we had won, people would have hyped it up, saying we defeated a League One team. However, since we didnโ€™t, I believe itโ€™s a blessing in disguise. It helps us avoid the expectation of defeating every League Two team and the subsequent disappointment when we donโ€™t, which I find quite irritating.
  23. While some supporters may focus on his age, we have ample speed and the quality he brings will be far more advantageous. Iโ€™m absolutely thrilled with this signing, even if itโ€™s only for a month.
  24. Aden Baldwinโ€™s comments on the performance are accurate, but the result is the key takeaway. The goalkeeping needs to be more assertive. Based on Aidan Stoneโ€™s performance, you wouldnโ€™t think we were near the top of the League Two table. This time, it was him who added to Nottsโ€™ difficulties. Hopefully, he regains his confidence and starts to improve. A very good result nonetheless!
  25. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, PON is great site @Callumpie.
