  1. While Stockport County is a strong team, they’re not invincible. Playing at home, we should be able to create opportunities to showcase our best football. I believe Stuart Maynard will instruct the players to go out, stay focused, and demonstrate their abilities. We can’t anticipate immediate change, but the initial signs could be promising.
  2. I’m happy with Stuart Maynard’s appointment. He appears to be a promising manager and I believe the board has made a great choice in bringing him on board. I hope he settles in quickly, but I’m certain he’s the right person for the job at this time.
  3. Hello, Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @Michelle Evans.
  4. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @Thomas Cotton.
  5. How would Nottingham’s map appear if it was divided based on Notts, Forest and Mansfield? I reckon we’d see a lot of plastic. Probably more than what’s reported in the ocean.
  6. Jayden Richardson didn’t take the penalty, he merely fell over and then alleged he had been fouled. I understand your point though. Regarding the budget, I’ve tried to investigate this and all the data seems very inconsistent. I don’t think Notts has the poorest budget and I’m interested in how expenditure affects the money we have for players’ wages. So, it might not be exactly like comparing two identical apples, but I suspect our budget might not be as robust as others. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/league-two/startseite/wettbewerb/GB4
  7. Judging by today’s performance, it’s clear that there’s potential for further improvement. Stockport County has proven themselves to be a formidable team in this league. I don’t particularly enjoy bringing budgets into the conversation as they don’t provide a fair basis for comparison. It’s the performance that truly counts. Being the home team would have certainly given them a leg up. So, it’s encouraging to see signs of progress despite this advantage.
  8. If we take today’s performance as an indicator, I believe we can keep getting better. Stockport County is a strong team in this league. I’m not fond of discussing budgets as it’s not a fair comparison. Performance is what truly matters. Being the home team would have given them an advantage, so I’m happy to see signs of improvement.
  9. Hello! Great to be welcoming you to the Pride of Nottingham @StanfordPie. It's nice to see you are already joining in, make yourself at home.
  10. We need to recognise our current situation and put an end to the drama. If the players can address what’s hindering us, a positive outcome is all we need. I doubt this will happen against a strong Stockport County, but I’m weary of the constant negativity as if we’re facing relegation.
  11. We needed a faster player in defence. Hopefully, with his addition and further development, we will see more from him. Lewis Macari is an exceptional talent, and I’m delighted that he has joined us permanently.
  12. I’m scared of losing, and so would most people given how well Stockport County are performing. It would be fantastic to achieve something, and I agree it could boost our confidence. I don’t think we need to fret if we lose, but hopefully, we’ll see signs of progress and determination.
  13. It’s never smooth sailing. I sympathise with Luke Williams, but he’s making errors too. I concur with the suggestions to stabilise the back three and attempt to resolve the issues. If the players aren’t receptive, he needs to replace them with those willing to make the necessary changes. The first choice should be to work with a consistent back three if possible.
  14. Best of luck to Michael Doyle. I understand the remarks about him being a football mercenary, but he should excel as a manager as long as he doesn’t abandon his post at the first sign of success.
  15. No Kyle Cameron? That seems like a significant change in the squad. I hope it turns out to be a good decision. Since Cameron isn’t even on the bench, I don’t know if he’s injured or just been told to rest. I would have made John Bostock the captain, but let’s hope Macaualay Langstaff can energise the squad and score a goal or two.
  16. I'd completely overlooked him. He's the sort of former player the club should consider inviting back for a match, given his intriguing seasons with us.
  17. We stand with you, our leader, our captain. In Notts, we have faith! It’s time to forge ahead and get the season back on the right path. Hopefully, we’ll start this Saturday and strive to build some consistent form. There will be some errors, but as long as we’re winning or learning, progress will follow.
  18. Luke Williams is truly commendable, always shielding his team and providing explanations that soothe everyone. Let’s rally behind the team and recreate the magic of the season’s start. That was a remarkable time. Let’s see if we can instigate a change with uplifting chants and exceptional support.
  19. Personally, I’d prefer if the club owned the stadium and land outright. Considering the problems other clubs have faced with owners exploiting the stadiums, it’s a worry, but I think it’s better for the club to own its assets. Ultimately, it’s up to the Reedtz to decide. If they’re not interested in buying, I respect that. If they do want to buy the land, I hope they’ll consider ways to ensure the ground stays with the club, regardless of who owns Notts County.
  20. I’m hopeful that Notts will kick off with energy and maintain it throughout the game, which I believe would boost the players’ morale. While a clean sheet might be a stretch, I do hope we’ll see an improvement in our defence compared to the Shrewsbury Town match. This game presents a great opportunity to earn 3 points and stay in contention at the top. A loss could see us fall behind in the playoff race. My prediction is a 2-1 win for us.
  21. It’s brilliant when a young player excels. The academy is doing a lot of good work, and I agree, Notts needs to make it worthwhile. Otherwise, it’s pointless. People might say none of them have been good enough, but the only way to know for sure is to give them game time to develop their experience. If not, it’s just untapped potential and somewhat a waste of time. I’m also wary about setting unrealistic expectations, so I hope our young professionals just concentrate on their game.
  22. The second half was far from dreadful, largely due to our impressive performance and the four goals we netted. This might create unrealistic expectations, leading people to believe we can consistently deliver such high standards throughout a full match. However, even top-tier teams like Manchester City don’t always shine for the entire 90 minutes. Were we good? Absolutely. Could Notts have performed better? Undoubtedly. But this is a fair reflection of the nature of football.
  23. I’m pleased it’s been sorted out. This is a great write-up, and including Luke Williams’ comments will show that it’s completely valid.
  24. Tommy Lawton’s transfer to Notts County highlighted the urgent need for fair wages for footballers in those times! He truly paved the way for a new era!
  25. Dan Gosling should adapt quickly to our style of play, given Bournemouth’s attacking approach in the Premier League. It might be a bit different without Matt Palmer, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Even though it’s a short-term contract, I’m trying not to get too excited.
