Gordon Banks’ save was truly extraordinary, his ability to keep England in the match while making saves like that was remarkable. It never ceases to amaze me, England has had some outstanding goalkeepers over the years.

The Notts Women’s team need to start improving their performance. I’m not sure how many teams in their division get relegated, but I hope they can turn their season around. Consistent losses and draws can always put you at risk of dropping into the relegation zone.

The problem isn’t so much with VAR itself, but rather with the individuals who are officiating and supervising it. The mistakes are still due to human error, because of how incidents are interpreted. When a referee or match official can reach a different conclusion, it suggests that there’s still a lot to be done to fine-tune the errors that can arise from ambiguous situations in football.

Jim O’Brien did provide a temporary solution, but I don’t believe we can depend on him or David McGoldrick to address our deficiencies solely based on their past experiences. John Bostock has the potential to be an excellent player. I believe it would be a top priority to help him regain his best form as he provides significant support in our defence.

I don’t believe that dismissing Stuart Maynard would make a difference. The subsequent manager would have to work with the same team, and form isn’t something that can be altered swiftly without effort. A lot of this effort needs to come from the players themselves to begin seeing the necessary improvements. I’m not concerned about this season; my focus is on backing the club and hoping for the best.

Given our current form, it seems highly unlikely that we’ll be able to fight for a playoff spot. I don’t think it’s going to happen and I’d rather see Notts strive to end the season as well as possible. We might manage to move up the table, but our main aim should be to finish above the mid-point if we want to attract good players next season.

As for me, I won’t be at the Notts game this weekend. I plan to find something else to occupy my time. On Sunday, I don’t have any specific plans, but I might see if anyone I know fancies a kickabout, weather permitting.

We’re hopeful that Jodi Jones’ performance could kick-start the results Notts require, but we can’t rely on just one player. The defence needs to step up, but regardless, it’s been a good season for Jodi Jones in terms of attack.

This is our first season back in the football league and there are several areas where we need to get better. Notts had a fantastic start which saw them climb to the top, but there are reasons for our current struggles. For me, it’s not about Stuart Maynard. I think Luke Williams leaving, in retrospect, is a tough situation to handle and even though Maynard seems like a good replacement, the players are undoubtedly under a lot of mental stress which could affect their concentration. Right now, we’re in a bit of a dip, but I believe Notts can start to climb again. However, it will need us fans who are ready to look past the disappointment.

The emphasis must be on improving our defence. I didn’t believe Sutton deserved their lead, but they secured it, and that’s what determines matches. I thought Notts did well to re-enter the game, despite the terrible errors at the back. It demonstrated some resilience, but regardless of the circumstances, Sutton knew they could retake the lead. They can revel in this victory; it won’t prevent their relegation. Terrible winners, but they aimed to turn our fans against our players, which was achieved with ease.

The fan zone appears thrilling, and it demonstrates that the club isn’t just sitting idle. I understand that some people will naturally want this money to be invested in the squad, but over time it could generate funds to make a difference. There must be a balance between investing in the squad and infrastructure. The timing of this could have been better, but it’s a fantastic option.

It’s tough to predict when our next victory will occur, but it can’t come soon enough. Bradford has made significant progress since our last encounter, but Notts must disregard recent performance and use it as a learning experience. If we want to prevent losing another manager, which would be an additional setback, this is the match that can demonstrate to the fans that their support is both valued and necessary. Regrettably, I foresee a draw, 2-2, due to our tendency to concede too easily.

I appreciate that Stuart Maynard recognises the threat that Crewe poses with their ability to change formation, but we’re no different. We’ve looked good once we adjust and tweak things. I reckon if you sit back and trust that the tactics you started with are enough to finish a game, it can lead to disappointment. I’m sure strong teams can stick to their plan, but being able to respond to a threat is just as crucial.

It’s encouraging to see him receiving commendation while at Rochdale. His experience there, along with his time in the Irish premier league, is valuable. We’re handling his development well, but there comes a point when we need to halt the loans and provide him with real match experience. I concur that I hope this happens more next season.

He seemed tense in his latest press conference, but I believe the indications are encouraging. However, we need to start achieving better results. The performances are mostly satisfactory, and I have no complaints about how the defence has improved, except for the Gillingham match. I don’t hold Stuart Maynard responsible for that. I’m hopeful that we’ll defeat Crewe and maintain a good form, especially as the season is drawing to a close.

The successful implementation of goal line technology in football has demonstrated how technology can enhance the accuracy of decision-making in the sport. This technology provides clear, indisputable evidence whether the ball has crossed the goal line, thereby eliminating any potential human error in such crucial decisions. Its effectiveness could be a strong argument for the English Football League to consider the addition of VAR. Video Assistant Referee has been utilised in the Championship, League One and Two playoff finals. If this technology is put into practice, it could lead to further talks about the introduction of VAR. The EFL would want to maintain its image as a modern league system. Typically, once a piece of technology is adopted, it’s not long before additional technologies are considered.

I stand at away games, but I never obstruct anyone’s view. I always make sure to check before I stand, and I never sit near the bottom. Typically, I’m with other fans who are standing. I think it’s common sense not to sit lower and block the view. I’ve seen many fans standing in areas where there are no seats, which is more about our time in the non-league where clubs are more relaxed. I don’t think anyone should do this in league games now. The front is usually where the inebriated fans hang out.

Under the new rules that allow clubs to sign a certain number of players who wouldn’t otherwise be permitted, it was never going to be rejected. I believe he will provide us with a much-needed boost. However, it does raise questions about Junior Morias.

I’m in awe of skilled photographers. Wildlife and aeroplanes are all challenging subjects to photograph, and when you see someone with a natural talent, it’s deserving of praise.

Once I’m done with my current posts, I’ll make a point to follow some members whose comments I find enjoyable, as well as take the time to follow certain parts of the site. I think it’s worth noting that I’ll actively browse and not just wait for information to come to me. There’s a lot more pleasure to be had from digging in and exploring - that’s how you discover new things you haven’t seen before. But the follow function is equally important.

I believe that when Notts begins matches in a better way, we are moving towards creating opportunities rather than trying to make things happen. At that stage, we appear to have exhausted our ideas and I think there’s a need to be more precise.

I understand that when we lend players, supporters of those teams might wish for a local player to get an opportunity. I get that. I also recognise that while young players won’t improve without playing, they need to be good enough to begin their journey. If they perform well, they become part of the team. The significance of the loan system is to increase the depth in key areas, not just with any player or youngster. This could be with seasoned talent, which is harder to find in the loan market, or promising young players who are more available but also more sought after. We’ve been lucky to have some top-notch loan players, so not all loan signings are poor. However, you have to play them to determine if they’re any good.
