I’m hopeful that this is just a temporary phase. Most supporters are fantastic, and while I don’t blame them for booing, I personally wouldn’t do it. I agree that we’re going through a tough time, but the situation with Jamie Fullarton was completely different. As a younger fan, it makes me appreciate where we are now and what our current owners are trying to achieve. We’ve had some bad luck this season, especially with the loss of Luke Williams, but I’m committed to giving my full support.

The emphasis must be on improving our defence. I didn’t believe Sutton deserved their lead, but they secured it, and that’s what determines matches. I thought Notts did well to re-enter the game, despite the terrible errors at the back. It demonstrated some resilience, but regardless of the circumstances, Sutton knew they could retake the lead. They can revel in this victory; it won’t prevent their relegation. Terrible winners, but they aimed to turn our fans against our players, which was achieved with ease.

It’s tough to predict when our next victory will occur, but it can’t come soon enough. Bradford has made significant progress since our last encounter, but Notts must disregard recent performance and use it as a learning experience. If we want to prevent losing another manager, which would be an additional setback, this is the match that can demonstrate to the fans that their support is both valued and necessary. If you’ve backed Notts before the Reedtz brothers’ era, you’d be familiar with this situation, and it’s disappointing. The Reedtz brothers have chosen Stuart Maynard, and that’s good enough for me. I have faith in their choices and think that Maynard has a lot of potential. He might need some time to adjust to things at Meadow Lane, as it’s a big leap from Wealdstone, no disrespect to them. But he’s inheriting a good team and we might see a few more join. I reckon there’s still scope to look for a player like Matt Palmer and perhaps another to play in the striker’s support role.

Saturday feels different with a new manager at the helm. It's crucial we support the team and trust in Maynard's process, whether it's a win, draw, or loss against Barrow. It’s excellent news about the injury update, and I’m truly grateful to learn that all the players are recovering well. While some may be concerned about Matt Palmer missing pre-season, I believe it’s best for him to return only when he’s completely fit. The inclusion of Cedwyn Scott in the team will certainly bolster our attack. I’m hopeful that Stuart Maynard can establish a successful partnership between Cedwyn Scott and Macaulay Langstaff.

I know we’ve been here before, when youngsters sign a new deal and then end up never really featuring, but I’m excited about the prospect of James Sanderson. Not because of his debut, but because everyone who knows him speaks so highly of him. There was an academy coach who spoke about James being something unique and special. His first professional deal is an amazing milestone.

I don’t think Notts has the poorest budget and I’m interested in how expenditure affects the money we have for players’ wages.
