Opposition View: Liam Cole on Carlisle United’s Rebuild Under Mike Williamson and Facing Notts County
Carlisle United fans might be looking at our injury list and feeling like now is a good time to be playing us. I think they’ll start to pick up points and it could be a difficult game for us for that reason. Jodi Jones is a massive miss. We do have some quality, but the game could be scrappy if neither side takes control of it. Liam Cole’s comments are brilliant, really worth the read.

Notts County’s Jodi Jones Declares: ‘I’ll Be Back Stronger’ After Tibia Fracture
Challenges from behind are very dangerous. Just look at the picture and you will see how serious a tackle like that can be. His foot is also raised, so how it was even a foul is beyond me. The officiating during the Gillingham game was a joke. It’s very sad news, but I am confident Jodi Jones will come back strong. It’s a tough situation for Jodi to be in. You could see on his face as he limped off how disappointed he was. I am just glad we know what it is and that it’s not as serious as speculated, even though a small break is still bad.

MAGnets link - Carlisle United
How many connections can we think of between The Mighty Magpies and Carlisle United? Let’s keep the guesses to a minimum of one for now. I’ll start by mentioning defender Shaun Brisley. Can you think of any players, staff members, or managers that connect the two teams? Remember, let’s start with one person for now. Match Discussion: Join in and share your thoughts!

Welcome to Notts Josh Martin.
I didn’t think he did much, but it was a tough game for him to come into. I think some of our fans are hyping him up a bit, as he really didn’t do much at all. In my opinion, some of the players who went off did better, but that’s alright because it gives Martin something to work on. He didn’t have much time to make an impact, so if we play better, it would give us a clearer idea of his abilities.

Match Discussion: Game 8 - The Shrimps (A)
I don’t think we missed Jatta as much as we missed Jodi. Both are good players, but McGoldrick just needs a bit more energy around him. Notts played so deep that it was always hard to pass successfully within their half of the pitch. I would have liked to see Notts try to be a bit calmer and a lot more determined to move the ball forward, but I left happy with the point.

Who is your Notts man of the match v Morecambe?
Over 63% shows that many fans felt it wasn’t quite open with other players performances. Well done to everyone who voted, even if you didn’t vote for the winner. It’s important! It shows the community’s response. So, well done to David McGoldrick.

This Annoys Me About Notts
It’s not something I think about, but I don’t see the point in having three shirts when two are obviously going to be used far more. I am not sure there’s a point in the orange kit, but I do think teams should wear an away shirt.

September's Player of the Month: Pride of Nottingham
I have voted for Jacob Bedeau. I think he’s been in brilliant form over September, and it is deserved, I feel. I vote for him for this reason.

Who is your Notts man of the match v Morecambe?
The sensible decision for me is to name the player who used his ability and experience to try to make a difference to the overall performance, and that is David McGoldrick.

Match Report: Controversial Offside Decision Costs Notts County in Narrow Defeat
It was a nightmare at times, the chances Notts had that just wouldn’t find the back of the net. Then Gillingham scored and the game started to fall apart. Notts played well. Sam Austin’s goal furthered the horrible dream-like feeling as I noticed nothing wrong and to see it disallowed is just crazy.

Poll: Who is your Notts Man of the match v Gillingham?
Well done, Jacob Bedaeu. No complaints. Fans voted and it’s great to see PON name a player as their Man of the Match.

One for Poirot : What was the attendance v Gillingham
It looked more than what was announced and shown on the squad, but who knows? Gillingham came in good numbers, the KOP was packed, Pavis looked full and the Family Stand had a good amount in too.

Stuart Maynard Reflects on Frustrating Defeat Against Gillingham: "We Deserved More"
I am pleased that Stuart Maynard spoke his mind because that shows character. Not just in the incident that saw him issued a yellow card but in his post-match comments. I hope fans continue to warm to him because he always gives a fair response and acknowledges us fans.

Match Discussion: Game 7 - The Gills (H)
I think we should have played Jevani Brown from the start. He might not have made much difference on goal, but there is every chance that he could have worked well with David McGoldrick. How poor at times was Didzy on the ball? He almost got us punished before Gillingham had scored. It wasn’t his best performance, and I feel it shows why he can’t play week in and week out. Although, we didn’t have many options, and it reinforces the belief that we need more support in the attacking department. I think our passing at times wasn’t all that good, which Gillingham capitalised on. I don’t think they were class, just a very good team that defensively hung onto a lead I don’t think they deserved. I do feel their goal was offside, but what can we do? There was no need for the Gillingham players to confront the assistant who later flagged Sam Austin’s goal as offside. The officiating was that poor, I wouldn’t blame people for thinking some sort of match-fixing was going on, but I don’t think it was that. I think the officials crumbled to everything Gillingham wanted and went against us when given the chance. Some odd calls throughout the game, but Austin’s goal was perfectly fine.

Ex Notts analyst Craig Cope
He has done quite a few interviews, but all traces of his departure from Nottingham Forest have been erased over time. I do remember reading that the incoming manager had made quotes about him not being knowledgeable enough. He seems to be doing okay in his role at AFC Wimbledon. I do find him to be strange though.

Poll: Who is your Notts Man of the match v Gillingham?
Jacob Bedeau was quality, by far the best defender and very good going forward. His performance seems to be getting overlooked. Not sure Matty Platt played any better, so I did find him being named as the Man of the Match by the sponsors to be a baffling decision. Bedeau and Dan Crowley were our best players. Alex Bass played very well, made some good saves, but Gillingham never really tested him. A lot of the saves were routine, but he commanded the area well.

Jodi Jones Injury
We all will be thinking the worst, but time will tell. I think Jodi Jones’ reactions seemed quite concerning, but even he will be thinking the worst. Let’s hope it’s nothing serious and that he can return after some time away, as I do think he will miss a few games.

Ricardo Moniz's new position
I’m happy for Ricardo Moniz. He deserves to be given long enough to make his mark known, and he seems to be doing very well. I think he’s a good coach and a decent manager that can get teams playing well.

Dan Crowley’s Call: Stay Grounded as Notts County Aim for Promotion
If we win today, some fans might get carried away, but most understand it's still early days, and Dan Crowley is right not to overthink it. We've got many matches left, and we all remember what happened last year. However, I believe we're stronger now. It would be a great achievement to be fighting for promotion, especially if we make it into the top three, but we’ll have to wait and see how things go.

Dan Crowley: "My Focus Is on Notts. I’m a Notts County Player."
Good comments from Dan Crowley. He could easily be the captain. I am not suggesting he should be, as I like Matt Palmer in the role, but Crowley’s comments are those of a leader and someone who sees his importance to the side. It’s good he’s enjoying his football. I hope he manages to get double figures this season for us.

Where are they now : Trialists at Coalville v Notts July 2021
None of them really caught my eye, but it was worth giving them a chance as you never know if you could unearth a gem.
