  2. Such a great gallery and selection of fan pictures. I would say to keep up the good work and hopefully you will be back at the next home game doing your thing. It’s something to look out for, seeing the Faces of PON and everyone’s reaction. A nice picture of the away end too. Great job, mate!
  3. Is it one or two prints? I’m curious how it will be decided and what steps fans need to know about their involvement being rewarded with one. The general concept sounds great! I’m just wondering how it will work further. I do praise the decision to gift to the community; it shows what it means.
  4. It was a very convincing win. If we play like this against more teams, our season should pick up. I thought Grimsby were poor, and their fans were too. They only chanted in small spells. They will complain that the referee changed the game for them, but they were just poor. So, I am pleased that we won. Curtis Edwards is everything the Woking fans said he would be when some of ours called him a squad signing. He is showing that he is more than that.
  5. The squad’s depth is a blessing. I still think another striker would give more options. Jatta is brilliant and works hard. He’s different to other strikers we have had, but if we insist on playing Cedwyn Scott out of position and in midfield, I don’t think David McGoldrick will always be the answer. I do like how he gets involved, but we need someone to remain up top, someone with pace and the instinct to take on players. As for Jodi Jones, I agree, but officials won’t do much. Some of the fouls have deserved more than a yellow, but officials seem to be lenient towards those offending instead of telling players to cut it out.
  6. I’m not too familiar with what Blackpool have been going through, especially under Neil Critchley. It’s never a good sign when people describe your time in charge as a ‘hangover’. This is a good read for those like me who are curious or just interested. https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/football/blackpool-fc/opinion-the-hangover-of-last-season-hadnt-gone-away-and-neil-critchleys-position-at-blackpool-seemed-untenable-but-the-timing-is-still-off-4751423
  7. A solid performance from start to finish, with plenty of chances and good play, would go a long way. It’s still early in the season, but we should have beaten Fleetwood Town, who were a very good team. The second half should have seen us get a third goal to win. Had we been a bit more alert to their threats, I am sure those would have been our points. But now we have to focus on Grimsby and preventing them from scoring. Alex Bass, despite conceding two, looks a top keeper.
  8. Diddzy is an excellent player, whose form can dip when he plays too many games, but that is something we can afford. To give him time to rest and make the biggest impact he can, I think there’s no reason why he wouldn’t start in crucial games where he offers us something different. But I do see him featuring more from off the bench, and I hope he understands that he can make more of a difference supporting his teammates in this way. It sounds like he gets it, so long may he continue to feature for us while he enjoys playing.
  9. Sorry, I’m not very familiar with Peter Storrie or Neal Hook. I do know there used to be a bloke who sold pin badges, and the Trews took action against him. This could turn unnecessarily ugly. I don’t know if the Navi owns any space in front, but reporting or talking about it might not be the best idea. I feel it’s best to leave it to the club to handle. I’m not saying you would, but more the club. To outside eyes, it might look different. Leave the club to chase people selling unlicensed or fake merchandise.
  10. Fleetwood Town did very well; they took their chances and were happy to wait for those chances to strike. I can’t help but feel Notts needs to be a bit like this in the games when it’s harder for them. The second half was a great display by Notts. It did feel like we left it a bit late to get back into it, and without the penalty, Fleetwood would have gone home very happy with their performance. It’s early days, but sometimes I just wish Notts would take a gamble when shooting and not rely on walking it in or crossing.
  11. I am pleased for Jodi Jones; it’s well deserved. He’s been a massive asset to Notts, and I hope we hear news of his contract being renewed at some stage. He’s a great player at this level!
  12. This is a very important game, early in our season. We’ve had two draws so far, and both league performances have been of a good standard. Losing to Grimsby would be disappointing, especially at home. We need to make it harder for teams to score against us at Meadow Lane. Hopefully, this will start to be put right. I think it’s a matter of Notts being much more clinical.
  13. Fair play to anyone who can take something and sell it. It’s no different from market traders. The only issue I have is if people aren’t paying taxes or are doing other side hustles when they shouldn’t be. Otherwise, it’s just smart business.
  14. It’s not official. I don’t believe any of the money goes directly towards Notts either.
  15. Please send my well wishes to @AmericanPie. I hope you can update us from time to time. We are a very caring community, and we see him as one of our own.
  16. I would hate for the defeat to cast any ugly shadows over our next league game on Sunday against Fleetwood Town. It’s typical of cup games to be a game of two halves. Yes, it’s frustrating to give away a 2-0 lead. We have much to learn from it and need to remember that the players still need time to adjust to the new signings. Pulling the game back ourselves shows we had spirit and didn’t just collapse. It’s very easy in football to fall apart when you concede 3 goals after leading for so long.
  17. He’ll be League Two’s Vincent Kompany at this rate. He had a great debut. For me, he would have been my Man of the Match. I thought he worked hard, kept his head down and focused, moved the ball well, and looked to get involved where possible. His presence was very determined. I agree he did right by clearing the ball out and also by acknowledging his teammates.

  21. Good insight from Stuart Maynard. The draw was a good result, and there is a lot to take from the game. I think Maynard got his ideas across, and the training seems to be working nicely towards getting the players to settle in together. Very pleased to see the defence acknowledged, but I do think the draw was the fair result.
  22. I don’t want Notts to get carried away with chasing additional players for the sake of it. I doubt this will be the case, but I think the squad just needs a striker who is different from Jatta. Someone with a turn of speed, who can dribble the ball and finish chances by attacking from beyond the last defender.
  23. Will Swan seems to have an eye for goal and looks capable of being moulded into a player that could thrive with our style of play. He did well with Mansfield, but I think the fact that Charlie McParland didn’t reply is simply because he’s employed by Mansfield. It wouldn’t be wise for him to speculate or comment without their acknowledgment. I do think @menzinho makes an interesting point. Mansfield are only thinking about the short term, and a lot of clubs do this. We have been guilty of this at times in the past. Luther Wildin and Colby Bishop have both proved themselves to be good players if they are played. For clubs that are constantly building and thinking about the future, opportunities like this potential move could open up the chance to make a solid signing.
  24. Interesting information, @Wheelbarrow repair man. I have seen magpies attack each other. They also fight a lot with large crows, which can be unsettling to watch as they both seem to try to kill each other.
  25. It took me countless times to log in to the mobile app. I never changed the details as they are automatically saved when I first entered them. I just persisted and eventually, I was hit with a welcome page and an option about my account. I do like the app. It’s much better than the website at the moment, even though it’s buggy. All this should have been tested with a small group of fans who are good with technology. Considering the site and apps are in use with other clubs, it makes you wonder why we’re having issues.
