  1. Most companies care more about their profits and board. They don’t even care about their workers, so why would they care about us? Feargal Sharkey is a typical Dickensian character.
  2. It’s brilliant when a young player excels. The academy is doing a lot of good work, and I agree, Notts needs to make it worthwhile. Otherwise, it’s pointless. People might say none of them have been good enough, but the only way to know for sure is to give them game time to develop their experience. If not, it’s just untapped potential and somewhat a waste of time. I’m also wary about setting unrealistic expectations, so I hope our young professionals just concentrate on their game.
  3. The second half was far from dreadful, largely due to our impressive performance and the four goals we netted. This might create unrealistic expectations, leading people to believe we can consistently deliver such high standards throughout a full match. However, even top-tier teams like Manchester City don’t always shine for the entire 90 minutes. Were we good? Absolutely. Could Notts have performed better? Undoubtedly. But this is a fair reflection of the nature of football.
  4. I’m pleased it’s been sorted out. This is a great write-up, and including Luke Williams’ comments will show that it’s completely valid.
  5. Tommy Lawton’s transfer to Notts County highlighted the urgent need for fair wages for footballers in those times! He truly paved the way for a new era!
  6. Dan Gosling should adapt quickly to our style of play, given Bournemouth’s attacking approach in the Premier League. It might be a bit different without Matt Palmer, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Even though it’s a short-term contract, I’m trying not to get too excited.
  7. His honesty is commendable. I appreciate that he refuses to collect a wage for merely warming the bench or missing match days. It speaks volumes about his character and, in my opinion, makes him more of a true footballer because he simply doesn’t care. There’s a stark difference between being a team player who waits for their chance and someone who actively takes money for doing nothing, draining the fans and the club.
  8. If we had won, people would have hyped it up, saying we defeated a League One team. However, since we didn’t, I believe it’s a blessing in disguise. It helps us avoid the expectation of defeating every League Two team and the subsequent disappointment when we don’t, which I find quite irritating.
  9. While some supporters may focus on his age, we have ample speed and the quality he brings will be far more advantageous. I’m absolutely thrilled with this signing, even if it’s only for a month.
  10. Aden Baldwin’s comments on the performance are accurate, but the result is the key takeaway. The goalkeeping needs to be more assertive. Based on Aidan Stone’s performance, you wouldn’t think we were near the top of the League Two table. This time, it was him who added to Notts’ difficulties. Hopefully, he regains his confidence and starts to improve. A very good result nonetheless!
  11. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, PON is great site @Callumpie.
  12. Not much time left, let’s aim for a positive outcome but more importantly, a strong performance. I’m hoping we start with the best possible squad, including John Bostock.
  13. Some are behaving as if we’re at the bottom of the league, which we’re not. We’re in second place. While some suggest that fans got carried away, I don’t agree with this, at least not on here. Fans simply rallied behind the club’s winning streak and it’s a wake-up call for the club. Gillingham may pose a challenge, but we shouldn’t fear them. Underestimating them could lead to a game like the one against Colchester, but Notts has goals and can keep clean sheets. It all comes down to staying focused and working hard. I foresee the game ending in a draw, with complaints about it being dull.
  14. This highlights the 5,000th game and the major milestones that preceded it. I can only imagine the time it took to calculate some of these, but I believe the article is well worth reading. It’s a fantastic read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
  15. Joining the 5,000 games club is a notable accomplishment. Notts could have reached this milestone earlier, but it demonstrates our current strength. Luke Williams won’t allow this to distract the players. He appeared quite upset in his pre-match interview, and I hope the players react not only for him but also for us, the supporters. Let’s ensure this game and milestone are significant!
  16. Notts fell apart, I completely agree with what @Chris said. We sadly missed Jodi Jones, but where was Will Randall? This match could have been a good opportunity to see his contribution but we just collapsed. Hats off to David McGoldrick for his efforts, he seemed keen to make a difference and not many players can claim they performed at this level.
  17. Colchester United surely don’t want to stay at the bottom for long, as it can be daunting and hard to escape when spirits are low. It requires a lot of courage to rise from such a situation. With their recent changes, it’s uncertain what will happen for Notts. We just need to trust in ourselves, work hard, create good opportunities and hopefully achieve the result we want.
  18. I anticipate Colchester to provide a tough challenge. Luke Williams acknowledges that positions do not guarantee success, but I believe that if we thoroughly prepare and begin the match with determination, it should be an encouraging game for us. While I am unfamiliar with many of their players, my main desire is to witness a strong defensive performance from our team. If Colchester manages to create any scoring opportunities, our players must prioritise protecting Aidan Stone, our goalkeeper.
  19. It's a fantastic beginning, but we must continue to work on some of the mistakes we make. It is important that we do so, as it allows us to sustain the pressure. I do not consider the fact that we conceded three goals last Saturday against Forest Green Rovers to be a big issue, as long as it does not happen again. I believe it was simply one of those games where both teams posed problems for each other. However, moving forward, we would appreciate clean sheets and strong performances.
  20. While I understand his logic, I’m not overly concerned about the errors we committed as they simply enhanced the game’s excitement. There are elements that Luke Williams and his squad can examine, but I wouldn’t overthink it. Good teams are bound to make and force errors. I don’t oppose Williams’ viewpoint, I just don’t find it as troubling. He’s right to suggest that at 2-0, we should have been more solid and controlled the game, but football isn’t always predictable. The same goes for Notts County. Nonetheless, it was a fantastic victory.
  21. Notts played exceptionally well. In the first half, Notts effectively handled the pressure and constant harassment from Forest Green Rovers. They didn’t pose many threats in those 45 minutes, but their pressing and build-up play looked promising. We should have easily won 4-1 or maybe 4-2. We made some foolish errors which allowed them to make more of a match of it, but we have to accept that sometimes a team will give us more trouble.
  22. Yes, he appeared neat and very effective. Forest Green Rovers performed well as a team and displayed excellent quality, especially when Reece Welch managed to evade our players without being pushed off the ball. He was very impressive!
  23. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @Morten Johansen. Please do make a habit to read and join in when you can, we will do our best to make you feel at home here.
  24. What a fantastic read! It's wonderful to come across stories from fellow fans about their experiences supporting the club. Each of us has unique encounters, which strengthens the bond we share. The highs and lows we go through truly contribute to our resilience and fortitude.
  25. It was an absolute belter, truly deserving of being captured. It was one of the finest goals from Kyle Cameron that I can recall. He’s netted some impressive goals, but that one was a unique kind of extraordinary.
