  1. stallard says Accrington's midfield fluid football v hoofball...disgrace
  2. free header????
  3. I see Stanley scored....ooops wrong Stanley
  4. I was trying to remember that Mexican beer that looked liked it was still brewed by WWII escaped Germans?...Tecate??? Will listen on Magpie Player though that seems at least 45 seconds behind the radio commentary... COYP
  5. @tarquinbeech I have just decided to decline to make the trip tonight... I always like the trips to Accrington, a ground unchanged for proper football but I am getting tired on driving up the M6 to witness a Stanley-less team. Saturday's game against Orient quite frankly knocked a hell of a lot of the stuffing ( read "hope") out of me. If I had confidence he was going to field a more creative team, I would have gone tonight but the reality will be same team again.
  6. I was hoping for a case of Stanley (Accrington) meets Stanley (Aborah) but feel the meeting will not and more likely never happen again. the chance is lost. A cold chill tonight will come down off the Pennines, where the sheep in the hills will outnumber a paltry amount of County fans. Accrington will play football and hopefully Josh Windass is still injured. Hoping for a Notts win against expectations, because it will be a long journey home
  7. @irishpete I presume he will not feature tonight.
  8. My team for tonight Loach Wildin MacKenzie Hollis Milsom Thompson Noble Aborah Campbell Valencic Stead Never going to happen though. I am feeling a bit radical this morning. .... Actually I think now is the time to blood Luther. I have seen enough of him in the Reserves to be confident that he can be our right back next season. If we find that Izzy is playing tonight, then serious questions need to be asked
  9. @Super_Danny_Allsopp Good team Danny..but I would prefer Valencic for Burke
  10. No, not a career reprise on the Banjoman, but on a look back for Millwall's Red invasion http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/yuran-admits-hes-top-of-the-flops-6318309.html Always remember Danny Baker complete with Russian Red Army Fur hat, on television full of enthusiasm of a new dawn for Millwall...but such new dawn was relegation
  11. Maybe the only change will be MacKenzie into the centre with Hewitt switching to Right Back. However I strongly feel we need to play 4 5 1 and drop Izzy, with Stead up front. Midfield five Curtis Noble Aborah, with Campbell and Valencic out wide. Milsom may also come into the reckoning.
  12. Taxi tales...Lima Peru... exit area of Lima airport can be best described as a cage. Taxi drivers touting for business and I couldnt find the car booked for me by the hotel. So I went back inside and paid a bit extra for an airport car. Conversing with the guy in Spanish, he said dont worry when we go through red lights. If we stop at red lights, likelihood of being robbed at gunpoint. So an interesting 20 minute drive through the dark streets of Lima to a hotel surrounded by barbed wire walls. Had an early flight next day so arranged for same guy to bring me back to airport. I get to airport to check in for flight to Cuzco, to find airline ticket not valid. Dont worry sir, its happened many times before, we give you preprinted letter for you to take back to your travel agent saying we only accept tickets issued by American Airlines only. so had to pay about 100 dollars for the flight. I could have gone to the Aero Continente desk, but that airline had a not so good reputation ( must have been true, as I believe, allegedly american insurance companies subsequently withdrew their insurance so they couldnt fly). So just paid 100 bucks and an american girl turns up on spec...same flight USD 70? I asked why her flight was cheaper? Well sir, you had a reservation already? Yes maybe reservation with an invalid ticket! Such is life in Latin america Vielen danke @DangerousSausage
  13. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/steam-train-drives-through-football-6620021 Well, we never got the monorail, perhaps will enhance the watching experience at Meadow Lane
  14. Please can I have a go as manager I am sure my team would have done a better job than the team that played yesterday
  15. @Dripsey3 If he can't beat the full back of a basement team, I fear it is the latter
  16. Colin's interview with Jamie...not a direct question on why he waited to 85th minute to make a change? Jamie's lack of action implies that he doesn't think the subs bench were good enough.... and Stanley and Snijders may well be best placed to tulip gazing back in the low countries. For peats sake
  17. Ratings: Leigh Curtis NEP Piethagoram Carroll 6................ 4 An experienced keeper should not get caught in no mans land for their first Hewitt 6................ 4 Defensively weak, offered nothing going forward Mackenzie 7............ 4 Looking for a commanding and vocal centre half. Well we got neither Hollis 7....................5 Average Adams 7..................4 Caught static for their second. Expected better Noble 7................... 4 wasted wide, dead balls atrocious Smith 6................... 3 The invisible man.. Banton 5................. 3 Any better than Snijders? I don't think so Stead 7 .................. 5 Only forward threat Izzy 4......................3 Perhaps 3 legged as he falls over a lot How Leigh can deem some of those performances / marking acceptable?
  18. Shambles. When 980 Notts supporters see that it's not working, so why wait 80 minutes for a change. Surprised that Izzy remained on his feet when being substituted. He embarrassed himself when falling over in penalty area. No heart to man up. Dead ball quality from Noble 1/10. Never looked capable of scoring. Trying to be positive but today, a team with no creative quality was found out. A wasted journey. #Stanley In
  19. The trouble is most refs are wise to McLeod's falling over antics. He does himself no favours and he should try to stay on his feet to score.
  20. @notts-joe I worry about Izzy's work rate... Hughes was always looking to aggressively chase down defenders in possession. Izzy is quite lazy in that regard, hence I would prefer to play with Stead as the one up leading the line. Looking forward to seeing a good match tomorrow
  21. Expect team tomorrow to line up as: Carroll Hewitt MacKenzie Hollis Adams Atkinson Curtis Noble Campbell Stead Izzy Piethagoram's creative side: Loach Hewitt MacKenzie Hollis Adams Atkinson Curtis Noble Stanley Valencic Stead Yes, I know Izzy isnt included but he only scores at home
  22. a Sirrel quote..."if you learn something from every game, there should come a time when you should never lose"
