  1. @Elite_pie One thing that seems to get overlooked is that Stanley can deliver from dead balls. Campbell is full of running and covers an immense lot of ground but the final end product is simply not there
  2. @ohstanleyaborah #StanleyIn
  3. @ohstanleyaborah I will be pleasantly surprised if Stanley is in the starting line up or even on the bench..Hope we don't have to ask for a "watching paint dry icon / button" for a non creative team
  4. Expect team tomorrow to line up as: Carroll Atkinson MacKenzie Hollis Adams Bennet Curtis Noble Campbell Stead Izzy But Piethagoram's gung ho, lets entertain the crowd line up should be: Loach Atkinson MacKenzie Hollis Adams / Milsom Curtis Noble Aborah Valencic Stead Izzy
  5. @Dripsey3 Argentinian film Nueve reinas also good too
  6. @Dripsey3 I have heard good things about Ida. I can also recommend this Argentinian film...a collection of interesting stories
  7. Ian Bolton, left for Watford.. Needham and Masson more famously, Martyn Busby returning to QPR undervalued... Paul Barnes, Rob Matthews, Anders Jacobsen, probably our best centre half this millenium. Craig Short Dean Yates (again seriously undervalued), Draper and Tommy J,
  8. Following on from @AmericanPie commenting on favourite actors / actresses, thought I would share my eclectic favourite films...and if you are expecting a list of Hollywood blockbusters, then best not read further Cinema Paradiso Breaking the waves A very long engagement Big Fish The Lives of others The secret in their eyes Hidden City Three Colours Trilogy, Brassed Off Little Voice Fever Pitch Notting Hill Mute Witness Starter for 10 The Reader Grand Budapest Hotel The Hunger Marathon Man Dr Zhivago The Life of Brian This is England Dead Man Shoes Brass Target Charade North by Northwest Arabesque The girl in the cafe Before Sunrise
  9. I am with Gil on this "didn't agree with the decision".. I would always prefer Gil to Smith...but in the overall scheme of things, we are overloaded with "decent" midfielders, so one can see for economic reasons, it may be the fairest way for both parties
  10. I hope Noble isn't reading this ..I think you mean "treat"
  11. @Dripsey3 you missed "always" before "correct"
  12. http://www.nottinghampost.com/Notts-County-fan-column-Jacob-Daniel/story-28662661-detail/story.html Glad to see Jacob's NEP column on the same lines
  13. @notts-joe I am still questioning Jamie's mindset over Valencic. The one spark of creativity at Crawley and has not featured playing since. The danger is that he goes with Smith as one of his substitutes at home and not giving us a chance of making a creative change, if we need to Edit... I am still of the opinion we need to let the opposition worry about us at home in an offensive attacking sense rather than set up to just nullify the away team.
  14. @notts-joe I am not advocating tinkering that much, but to at least have a midfield berth for either Valencic Aborah or Snijders
  15. @Dripsey3 The set ups away from home may not be entirely applicable to what we need at home. I hope Jamie now recognises this and includes some creative flair like Valencic, Stanley or Snijders.
  16. @Super_Danny_Allsopp I agree the timing could have been better..but to say in January? Yes, we were starting to go through a bad patch, but no one at that time, was really calling for his head. Maybe the final straw were the cost and perceived "quality" of the new and loan signings in that January transfer window? Whoever scouted these, well we may never know. I would add that if Derry had continued, the ultimate outcome was to be the same, one of the worst, if not the worst home record in 150 years and you were still prepared to give him more time? At least it gave the new manager a few weeks to analyse just how many shortcomings of the squad he had inherited.
  17. Just a few words in appreciation of @erindoors giving insights from the questions asked in this thread. @Super_Danny_Allsopp I have to say SDA that I take issue with your comment concerning Derry's departure "Last gasp attempt to preserve L1 status"..As Erindoors implied, the big picture was there for all to see, a poor footballing philosophy which patently wasn't working @ivansneck I must express these are my sentiments too... Quote "Under Ricardo Moniz, I saw some of the most fluid attacking football that I have ever seen in England. Of course it was of 4th division standard, but it was the attitude, the freedom, the movement, the enjoyment I loved. Like a number of my friends we were suddenly looking forward to home games and being happy even in defeat. Yes it's a romantic view, and leads to glorious failure at times, but I go to sport to be entertained, enthused etc." Unquote It is good to see that in order to achieve sustainability, the building blocks of the Reserve side, does show that we have some good youngsters coming through, for the first time for many years. I am hopeful that Wildin Agathise, Gibson and the return of Pedro's son from Sligo could have real opportunities in next season's squad. The real plead is for Jamie to acknowledge that the back to basics defending can be enhanced by having creative players, harking back to the days of "Rash the smash" and the likes of McSweeeeeeeeeegan types of players COYP
  18. Always a good read @Shepshed_Pie. I seem to recall you mentioned last season a youth player that was related to Lloyd Richards. Is it Jordon Richards?
  19. @NewNottsFan Maybe you have misread me. Certainly I do not class myself in the "negative" mode, far from it. I was just pointing out some contradiction between perceptions about Bennett and Stanley. Looking forward to the next game with renewed hope.
  20. Much more reassured that we now know how to set up away from home. The great Jimmy's teams were always hard to beat. I think we are just looking for signs of hope and reassurance that "creative" players have a place, especially at home.
  21. @NewNottsFan "unless he's not putting a shift in"...well, if you saw Bennett last week, that wasn't a shift in my book. if Jamie has a Derry or Paul Hart mindset, then his appointment is a big mistake. It is important for Jamie to take the crowd with him in support, ..so we look for success today
  22. @upthepies http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/article/ticket-details-luton-town-a-2897017.aspx tickets available today by phone til 1230pm
  23. @NewNottsFan I am already concerned re Stanley. Stanley has been a real spark of light this season and his dead ball delivery in his last full match was better than anyone else at the club. The trouble is that Jamie seems to have dropped into a Derry type mind set. If he is forcing Stanley out, then what small goodwill that remains will evaporate. If he ever does that, it will not be in my name, creativity and skill must have some place in my Notts County #StanleyIn
  24. My team for Luton Loach Hewitt Amevor Audel Adams Curtis Milsom Aborah Noble Valencic Spencer However Jamie's nightmare view maybe Carroll Atkinson Hewitt Hollis Milsom Curtis Bennett Noble Adams Izzy Stead
  25. @upthepies It's all ticket, so make sure you dont make a wasted journey
