  2. I think we all saw the first half was below our usual standard, but the important thing is that the team didn’t collapse. Maynard’s changes, especially bringing Brown on, were spot on. We started to create more chances and, in the second half, it felt like we were more in control. McGoldrick showed nerves of steel with that penalty. Taking three in a row can’t be easy, especially when keepers are doing their homework, but he delivered again. Tsaroulla was excellent on the left, and it’s great to see we can rely on different players in tough moments. A good point on the road and now onto Harrogate!
  3. Cardiff City 1-1 Portsmouth Leeds United 2-0 Watford Bristol Rovers 1-2 Shrewsbury Town Peterborough United 3-1 Blackpool Joker Fleetwood Town 0-0 Crewe Alexandra Tranmere Rovers 2-1 Grimsby Town Dagenham & Redbridge 0-1 Eastleigh Tamworth 0-1 Yeovil Town
  4. It wasn’t the prettiest game, but I agree with Maynard, sometimes you’ve got to win ugly. AFC Wimbledon didn’t make it easy for us to play our usual game, but the lads showed real determination. The clean sheet is massive for us, especially given how tight the game was. Maynard’s comments about set-pieces being crucial were spot on. Craig’s work with the team really paid off today with Platt’s goal. Bassi was solid as ever at the back, keeping us calm under pressure. We’ll need to keep up this kind of defensive resilience for the rest of the season if we want to stay near the top of the table.
  5. It was a tough game to watch at times, especially in the first half where we didn’t create many chances. But what I loved was how Matty and the backline kept things tight and stayed composed. Platt’s goal was the turning point, and I think it just shows how much he’s growing into his role. The fact that we kept the clean sheet as well just makes this win even more satisfying.
  6. It’s been a long wait for McDonald to get back to full fitness, but I’m excited to see him make his league debut. His experience is exactly what our defence needs, especially after some tough matches recently. The fact that he’s had the support of the gaffer and teammates is brilliant too, just shows how strong the unity is within the squad. His presence on the field will bring us that calm and stability we’ve needed at times. Let’s hope he can help us keep a clean sheet against AFC Wimbledon. It’s not going to be an easy game, but I’m optimistic with him in the team.
  7. Blackburn Rovers 1-2 Swansea City QPR 1-1 Portsmouth Blackpool 2-0 Barnsley Lincoln City 0-1 Birmingham City Bradford City 1-1 Gillingham Port Vale 2-0 Fleetwood Town Joker Maidenhead United 1-3 Hartlepool United Sutton United 2-2 Oldham Athletic
  8. The moment we can see Kellan Gordon play consecutive 90-minute games, the better we will see him perform. I think his performance was very good and perhaps he shouldn't have been taken off. He made Chesterfield work hard. Rotation is useful, but when you have a player like Gordon proving tricky, you want to see them cause more trouble. He gets my vote.
  9. I think Stuart Maynard has done well with what he has control over. However, the early injuries and the squad's size have been difficult for us. The performances were improving steadily early on, but since Gillingham, they've been inconsistent. It's a good test of his ability to see how he manages to regain form. I'm not expecting Notts to win the league, but losing home games, inconsistent performances, and injuries are real tests for him. Losing Jodi Jones is out of his control, but Kellan Gordon should help fill that void. He needs to talk to the owners in January and encourage them to add more depth. A striker would help a lot, but how we rotate, bring in players, and pick up vital points will determine the transition's success. Early signs were promising, but if teams see we struggle with absences or if we get more injuries, it could be costly.
  10. We can create our own problems at times. I think both teams performed very well. I feel happier with our performance, despite Chesterfield looking likely to win until the penalty and disallowed goal. Their fans are unhappy with the penalty, but it makes you wonder if they realize that Jatta's effort would have counted had the handball and penalty not been awarded. Did their player get a yellow card for that? I couldn’t tell, but I thought Notts did well in most parts of the game. I would like to see us avoid playing ourselves into trouble. Teams press and put pressure on us, which forces mistakes. The defending for both goals should have perhaps been better.
  11. Can’t fault the lads for effort, but sometimes we lack that clinical edge to put games to bed. Chesterfield was always going to be a tough match, but we actually looked the better side for much of it. We had the chances and probably deserved at least a draw, but football doesn’t always work that way. It’s games like these where we miss someone who can just break through and score with half a chance. The fans were brilliant, and I’m sure the players appreciated that. Let’s take this as a lesson and move on to the next one.

  13. It shows how we've adapted and balanced, going from being strong in attack last season to being defensively solid this season. However, we still need that extra bit of quality in important games like this one. I hope we can improve in January. We have goals and a good squad, but we fall short when the quality is needed most.
  14. There are some votes for both Dan Crowley and Kellan Gordon, but it’s hard to disagree with the result. Well done to Dan Crowley!
  15. Great gallery! It's lovely to see the fans represented so well. There are some really fantastic pictures in there!
