  6. @True Magpie said: "Isn’t this what we wanted for Stuart Maynard last season? For him to have more support, instead of making stubborn choices and going into games with a “whatever happens, happens” attitude". It's too late for Stuart, but it does appear that the Club have learned lessons from what happened between January & May when Stuart was left on his own.
  7. Listening to Gagliardi you can instantly realise why the Reedtz brothers chose him to be the Notts Director of Football. Is experience of working for Football Radar & his calm demeanor along with is quiet confidence should assure the Notts fan base that he is the man for this important position. I think that it is a good move by the club to communicate like this with the fan base. It helps the fans get to know Gagliardi & see what he is like as a person. He's certainly been very busy over the last few months, when you consider that he has been leading the work to recruit the eleven players as well as the eleven players that have left the club, some going on loan. I also think that he is the type of person that will be able to support Martin Paterson when he needs it. I think that the Technical Board will be part of that process too.
  8. @TheSkipper Salford outplayed us in both matches last season. We just couldn't cope with their tactics. That's why this game on Saturday is so important to see exactly where Notts are compared to last season.
  9. @theAnticlough said "My hope is that the technical board helps MP to act decisively and nip things in the bud early" You bring up some good points. Part of the problem with Managers & Head Coaches is that they have their favourites & are inclined to play them even when their form has dropped off, & some players don't even get a chance to perform because the coach doesn't rate them. I think one of the examples was Maynard & Matt Palmer. For me, he clearly wasn't the player he was after he returned after injury (although in the game against Newport, I thought he had his best game since his return from injury). The technical board might reduce that sort of thing happening.

  17. We expected that George would either be loaned out to a League 1 or Championship Club for this season & it's league 1 Wycombe, who have got themselves a gem for the season. I'm sure George will be superb for them, & I will be keeping an eye on his progress.
  18. Danny Livesey. Played for Notts in 2003 on loan & made 11 appearances. He also played for Salford between 2017/19 & made 9 appearances
  19. Good one @super_ram
  20. Jake Jervis , who played for Notts on loan for 10 matches in the 2010/11 season & for Salford City on loan, for 20 matches in the 2019/20 season.
  21. I don't blame him for taking the move. It's was a mouthwatering prospect for him to be playing in the Brazilian top league, but I wonder if he's made a big mistake? Time will tell.
  22. My first impressions are that it was a good interview, i believe I got to know him a little & what he is all about. I believe he is just the type of person that the Reedtz brothers would employ in that roll. I get the impression that he knows what he is talking about, & he has lots of knowledge, especially in date analysis, to fulfil his specific roll. He's certainly been very busy since he began working for Notts with 11 players being recruited & 11 players leaving including 2 loaned out during the summer transfer window. I thought He was keen to mention that the club were specifically looking for players that could compete physically in league 2 & he believes that the squad has now been strengthened compared to last season. Also, the way he was talking we should expect for more players to arrive & leave before the transfer window shuts.
  23. We witnessed an encouraging performance by Notts in their first league match of the season against Newport, however, it will be a bigger test for Notts when they meet Salford at ML on Saturday in the early kick off. Salford are tipped to challenge for promotion this season after just missing out on the playoffs last term. Salford did the double over Notts last season, having totally outplayed us in both league games, so Notts will be very keen to reverse that trend of poor results. I expect Head Coach Martin Paterson to pick a similar starting eleven to the one that faced Newport. Alassana Jatta is still under suspension, so I expect Dennis will once again lead the attack. New signing Tyrese Hall is expected to feature in the matchday squad probably on the substitutes bench. I think that this first home game of the season against a strong Salford side, with a large ML crowd in attendance will be a cracker. By the end of the match we may have a better idea of where this Notts team are in the league 2 scheme of things.
