  3. I'm sure that all the members of the Technical Board are fully commited to it, & what it may achieve to foster continuous improvement, & help to solve any problems or issues that arise on the playing front. I think that is key to the success of the TB, & that's why I believe it will prove to be a success.
  4. It's Matchday.Wigan v Notts. Are you heading there today?
  5. The implication for a Club's season ticket holders, & away supporters is very concerning. How will clubs involved be able to sell the notion of a season ticket anymore? Also it will completely change the dynamics of the PL format. Football is all about playing at home & playing away. There is supposed to be an advantage to being at home with the home support & a different challenge when playing away. That will totally change with having a neutral venue. I think it will change the game for the worse. It will also not help the domestic game in the US either with foreign teams playing each other there on a regular basis. Personally I think that UEFA & FIFA should block it from happening, but we know they won't because as you say @Wheelbarrow repair man , money talks and has the final say
  6. Brilliant things are happening with PON. I'm pleased that PON members now have more options, but I do like my existing ones. I love the topic option because you can see at a glance that there has been recent topic activity.
  7. Result of today's Academy under 18s match: Notts 1 Rotherham 2
  8. Owning or being a major shareholder of two different football clubs at the same time should be a no no & should be prohibited. An issue such as what we saw at Palace, shouldn't be just an issue with UEFA, it should be an issue domestically too.
  9. It's been a summer of heatwaves. It's predicted to get hot today. Stay safe & hydrated, if you're going out apply suncream & where a hat or cap.
  10. So Spanish Clubs Villarreal & Barcelona have been approved by the Spanish Football Federation to play their match in Miami, United States, in December. It still has to be approved by UEFA, FIFA, CONCACAF, & US Soccer, before it can go ahead but it will probably be a formality. What do PON members think about the implications for Clubs & Fans around the World & in the UK. Is it a good or bad thing?
  11. A very good topic for discussion @McPie I am warming to the Technical Board. I think that it will be a useful tool to ensure that any problems on the field are nipped in the bud asap. It will be a forum to ensure there is continuous improvement on the field of play. I'm sure that the first meeting after the Salford game would have made for interesting listening, with plenty of input from everyone around the table. One thing is for sure. I don't think the Technical board will be waiting for 10 matches to go by, before getting their 10 penny worth in by giving their feedback & making suggestions. And you are right, the fan base have been something near to a Technical Board over the ages. The fans have always been quick to air their concerns & offering their feedback & solutions when things aren't going so well. It's not clear if the Club Captain will attend Technical Board meetings, but I do think that it would be beneficial to have the senior player's feedback & suggestions too. I don't think it is necessary that a fans representative be on the Board because I'm sure members of the board will be very aware of the feeling of the fanbase, whether it be positive or negative. I do believe that the Technical Board will be of great value & a tool to ensure that the Club is continually improving on the field & help to put things right when things aren't going so well.

  17. I believe Notts need to take this match very seriously. Martin Paterson alluded to this in his pre match interview that he was looking to win the match. Of course it's important to put in a good performance, but it is important to win every match you play in. It gives the players confidence & keeps the fan base happy too Martin needs to find out what his strongest side is, as soon as he can, so I would urge him to select a very strong side against Wigan. Possibly those who finished the game against Salford, & play young Griffiths in goal.
  18. The poll has now closed. Thank you to all who voted. I am very pleased to announce that Keanan Bennetts has been voted as the Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match against Salford.
  19. Hi @John B & welcome to our Pride of Nottingham community.
  20. @theAnticlough said, "The point I'm trying to make is that our identity can be eroded in many different ways. One of those would be recruiting different types of midfielders, or for any key position". The owners definitely believe in possession based football, there is no doubt about that, but I do see a subtle change in the programming for their football radar analysis system regarding the type of players Notts are looking for. I think back to the difference of approach between Williams & Maynard. Luke being attack minded, Stuart more defence minded. Now Martin wants to be more physical. There has to be a fine balance between attack, defence, now physicality. Martin has to get all three right now. I think Martin has enough players for him to decide who fits best across the side especially in midfield. I hope it doesn't take him too long.
  21. Good morning all. It's been a nice warm day here with the occasional Sunny intervals.I have spent time in the garden today weeding & general maintenance. All the summer flowers are in bloom & looks magnificent. I just need to cut the lawn tomorrow morning, then things are set for a week or so garden wise. We've bought an insect netting which fits over our large sun parasol to keep the insects off us. I will fix it up once I've mowed the lawn. I can report that we've had the fans on again today as it's getting warm inside. It's 76 deg F in our living room.
