  1. Who would become the most dominant species if if there were no humans on earth? Well, Where the United States & Canada are now there would be tens of millions of Bison roaming the interior & prairies. In Africa, you'd have tens of millions of Wildebeest roaming the African plains, & tens of thousands of elephants. You would still have thousands of wild Boar roaming the around what is now England Also wild brown bears would be numerous as well as deer. There would be tens of thousands, if not millions of Pandas in what is China. I fact, the whole animal kingdom would absolutely thrive without humans being on the planet. As far as plant life is concerned there would be massive Forests & Jungles without Humans influence The World would look very different.
  2. Wow, that is a question & a half @Wheelbarrow repair man I think that the question whether the World would be better off without humans is very complex & comes down to a matter of opinion. While there are lots of negative things happen in this World due to human existence, there are many positives too. The human race has been very destructive, but on the other hand humans have been very creative. Does their destructiveness trump their creativeness or vice versa? I could easily reel off the many positives & negatives of human existence, but I don't think by doing that it would resolve the issue at hand. At the end of the day, I don't think there is an easy answer . Ultimately, whether a world without humans would be "better" is a matter of personal opinion & values

  7. A dream move for Hackford. I wish him all the best in League 1 for his new side. I do hope he does well for them & gets some game time but I wonder if he will be loaned out to another club.
  8. At the end of the 2nd day's play, Notts are 189 for 2 wickets. Club Captain Hameed has made an unbeaten 103.
  9. Somerset were bowled out after lunch for 438. At the tea break Notts had moved on to 78 for 1.
  10. I think that the Notts side will be more physical than what they were under Williams & Maynard. I think we've already seen evidence of that in the pre season games. I've always wanted the Notts team to be more physical & tougher with their opponents. I think you have to be in league 2. We were bossed off the park by Wimbledon in both playoff semifinals & I am sure that must have had a big impression on the Notts powers that be. It could even have been one of the reasons that the Head Coach was changed & new coaching staff appointed, as well as bringing in tougher players.
  11. It is not looking good for Morecambe, but even at this late stage there is still hope that the sale of the club can still go ahead.. If things do take a turn for the worse & the club in it's present form cannot be saved, I'm sure a phoenix club will arise for season 26/27. But let's hope upon hope that won't need to happen.
  12. This is a sad state of affairs for this famous old Ground, that hosted matches for the 1966 World Cup & staged many famous FA Cup Semi Finals. BBC SportSheffield Wednesday: Hillsborough's North Stand closed by...The North Stand of Sheffield Wednesday's Hillsborough ground is closed by the city council because of concerns over its structural integrity.
  13. Aaron Collins has arrived at MK Dons from Bolton for £800,000, It's a gross amount of money for the fourth tier. My opinion. There needs to be a transfer & wages cap in each Division.
  14. A big welcome from me @Chedozie & welcome to our PON community.
  15. I would love him back at Notts, but the way things are, I can't see our owners wanting to pay his level of wages. They couldn't agree terms with Didzy which would have been lower than what Macca gets now at Millwall.
  16. It's Lunchtime. Good fightback by Notts in the morning session taking 4 wickets & restricting their opponents to 58 runs. Somerset are 396 for 8
  17. Pity we never got to see how Tyler would perform if given the opportunity at Notts. Sometimes, if someone is given the opportunity, they seize it with both hands & become a fans favourite. I do hope he is given an opportunity at Bolton.
  18. The Watney Cup. Big business sponsorship & Penalty Shootouts. It was actually very influential in changing football in this Country. Are these changes for the better? In my opinion, no, because the big six clubs plus the rest of the PL clubs make massive amounts of money from sponsorship deals The more popular the club, the more money that can be made. As for penalty shootouts. A definite no here too because penalty shootouts are a way of depriving smaller clubs of lucrative replays in cup competitions. It has also changed the game when it comes to finals that are now decided by penalty shootouts if their is no result after extra time. Some teams actually base their tactics on holding out for deciding a game by penalties. Penalty Shootouts have basically changed the professional game for the worse in my opinion.
  19. Nice to see him get a hat trick & I'm pleased for him. We have to bear in mind that it was against National League opposition..
  20. @menzinho I don't think we will see a pound for pound replacement for Crowley now. I think that Notts will be satisfied with the amount of cover they have in that position. Whether the cover in that position is as good as Crowley only time will tell. As far as replacing Didzy, how can you replace him with a similar amount of skill & experience without opening the chequebook? I think it will be very difficult. But I do expect Notts to recruit a striker before the transfer window closes.
  21. It's Day two of the county Championship match between Nottinghamshire & Somerset, & Weather permitting, Somerset will resume this morning on 338-4 after 93.3 overs.
