  2. Update. After listening to Martin's pre Chesterfield press conference there is no update about whether any injured players will be ready for Saturday. There was no word on the extent of Matt Palmers injury either. Martin was keeping things close to his chest about whether any of those players would be available, so we will just have to wait & see.
  3. Hi everyone. If you have time please listen to Martin Paterson's pre Chesterfield presser from the University training ground. It is about 45 minutes long, & Martin took questions from the local press & Students. Martin came across very well. We've certainly bagged a very good gaffer in my estimation.
  4. Another mouthwatering derby awaits Notts on Saturday, when they meet local rivals Chesterfield at Meadow Lane in an early kick off. Chesterfield have won 2 of their last 5 matches with 1 draw & 2 defeats. They lost their most recent match at home to an improving Shrewsbury side 2:3.They currently stand in 8th place, 8 points behind Notts in League 2 In their last 10 matches Chesterfield have won 4, drawn 3 & lost 3. They have accumulated 15 points from a possible 30, scored 15 goals & conceded 12, so their form is mixed as they currently lie in 12 place in the form league table. Notts have failed to beat Chesterfield in their 3 league meetings since Chesterfield were promoted back to League 2. Notts have lost 2 & drawn 1 of those 3 games. Notts will be hoping to get their 1st win in four matches on Saturday. Notts were boosted by Ollie Norburn's return when he was influential in Notts win at Walsall last Saturday. They will be hoping that Matt Palmer & Alassana Jatta will be fit to return. Striker Lee Ndlovu is still serving a 3 match ban so won't be available. I expect that Head Coach Martin Paterson will make a few changes from the side that started against Walsall. We may see Tangen replace Hall, & Kouhyar replace Grant in the AM positions. We may also see McDonald come in for Platt in defence. It's another tough game & Chesterfield will make it very hard for Notts to get through them. Notts have to come out swinging straight away & try to get an early lead. Key areas will be all over the pitch, particularly in the Notts Attacking Midfield positions. Can they create enough goal scoring opportunities like they did in that 2nd half against Walsall? If they do I think that Notts can get a positive result.

  6. Four peas in a pod for sure 😄
  7. @theAnticlough Bristol Rovers could become the form team of league 2. They've won 5 of their last 10 matches & 3 of their last 5. They currently stand in 19th place but are moving clear of the bottom two relegation places. Could be a tricky last match Notts against them at ML if promotion is still to be decided.
  8. A positive for Spurs is that once he was substituted Spurs actually drew the rest of the match 2-2. Spurs do have a slight chance of making a comeback in the 2nd leg due to the away goals rule, so a 3:0 win would take them through.
  9. A win for Notts would take us 11 points clear of Chesterfield, hopefully Walsall can do us a favour by beating Crewe. Those two favourable results would give Notts a handy 11 point cushion between us & 8th & 9th places, for at least a playoff place with 10 games left to play after Saturday's fixture.

  14. Walsall sack head coach Mat Sadler after a poor run of form leaves them 11th in League Two, outside the play-off places with 10 games remaining. Another inevitable signing in today's climate for success or else.

  19. I think that Maynard has shown that he is a good leader & Head Coach. York City are challenging for automatic promotion in the NL. They are on course to exceed 100 points this season with already accumulating 86 points with 9 matches remaining. They have the best goal scoring record 97, than any team in the NL & the 2nd best defensive record conceding less than a goal a game. To say that Maynard can't organise and Motivate a team isn't correct in my opinion. Stuart is possibly on the way to exceeding Luke's points and goalscoring totals & we thought Luke was a legend here at Notts.
  20. I think it was inevitable that his job would be on the line after winning only one match in the last sixteen. Problem for Northampton they are four points from safety with 10 matches left. A new manager will find it very difficult to save them from relegation at this stage in the season
  21. Top of Table after Tuesday 10th March matches. Notts up to fourth place, eight points ahead of the team in eighth place. MK Dons won, & Salford won. 1. Bromley. 36 played: 70 points 2.
