  1. Your Thursday Weather 4cast
  2. The excitement is building. 72 hours to go. Can Notts get a positive result & give themselves a chance for the second leg? I think they can, but they will have to be at their best. I am very encouraged by Notts away record this season. I think that if Notts can get a narrow win on Saturday or even a draw, I think Wimbledon will be very weary of Notts at their place. Having the first leg at home can work in Notts favour because Wimbledon will want to dominate the play in the 2nd leg & that may give Notts more room up front, to hit Wimbledon on the break. I'm pleased that Austin is back & I hope he is fit enough to start the match because before his injury he was playing so well. I'd also like to see Jarvis in the starting eleven, because I think he's better defensively than Jones. My first eleven would be Bass, Macari, Platt, Bedeau, Austin, Abbott, Palmer, Jarvis, Grant, Jatta, McGoldrick. Subs. Miller, Whittaker, Edwards, McDonald, Hinchy, Gordon, Jones
  3. Notts have won or drawn 71% of their league matches this season.
  4. Nice start to the morning here. Looks like it is going to be a reasonable day. We haven't had any prolonged rain for several weeks here. We've only needed to cut the lawn once in several weeks. Woke up this morning to the following news from abroad. Looks like hostilities have started between India & Pakistan & the Cardinals are meeting in Rome to choose a new Pope.
  5. I thought Austin did well when he came on. I think Notts missed him during his injury & he was playing very well beforehand too. I hope Austin will be fit enough to start against Wimbledon. He could make a lot of difference for us.
  6. It was a reasonable day here weather wise but the wind was chilly. Completed a five mile walk this morning. I always take a drink with me & a bite to eat when walking just in case. Watched a good film tonight called Gemini Man with Will Smith. A good action movie.

  8. I think it's great that we have a Notts club in the National League North, the sixth tier of the English league system for next season. Good luck to Worksop Town for next season.
  9. Your Weather 4cast for Tuesday.
  10. It hasn't rained here but it was cloudy all day and chilly outside. Wrapped myself up today when I did my walk. Just a quiet day in on this bank holiday Monday. Watched a few Westerns on the box. It is years since I watched High Noon with Gary Cooper, Grace Kelly & Lee Van Cleef. It is still a classic & can hold itself against any modern film as far as I'm concerned. Is it just me but I don't see modern acting in the same league compared to those actors from the golden age of Hollywood.
  11. Notts have the 2nd best away record in League 2, so if Notts can get a narrow win at home, or even get a draw, I'm sure Wimbledon will be aware of that Notts good away record. Previous fixtures stand for nothing when it comes to playoff matches. The pressure will be all on Wimbledon if we can get a positive result in our home leg.
  12. As I said, I think Luke could do a job for a Club in the lower leagues below Championship level, but I don't want him back at Notts. The way he left Notts was unsatisfactory, leaving us in fifth place yes, but leaking goals like a sieve & dropping down the league. Having him back alongside Stuart would be a complete non starter. They are two different personalities & it just wouldn't work. I like Stuart's management style, & I think his style is what the Reedtz brothers like too.
  13. I think it is quite profound that Luke hasn't been appointed to any Club since he left Swansea. I am surprised that another EFL or National League Club hasn't been touting for his services. I think he could still do a good job for a Club in the lower divisions.
  14. Worksop Town have been promoted to the National League North after beating Guiseley 2-1 in their playoff final.
  15. It was an overcast & much colder day as late here. Thankfully the rain kept off & I managed to get a couple of hours gardening work done. Spent the late afternoon watching three westerns from the forties & fifties. Two starring Henry Fonda, with Dana Andrews & Anthony Quinn in supporting roles in one & a young Anthony Perkins in the other The third film starred Richard Widmark from 1956. They were three good stories that I'd not seen before. All three had good endings too.
  16. Your Weather 4cast for Bank Holiday Monday.
