  1. Your Friday Afternoon Weather
  2. Good luck to Notts Academy player Daniel Adiefeh who's gone on loan to Basford Utd till the end of the season.

  4. If a team has a good defence sometimes you only need one goal to win, & what a move & what a finish it was.
  5. More sad news today that the singer songwriter & Actress, Marianne Faithful has died. Another sixties music icon has gone. May she rest in peace.
  6. The poll is now closed. Thanks to all who voted. By popular choice & for his outstanding performance, I am pleased to announce that George Abbott has been chosen as the Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match v Carlisle.
  7. Notts County Women visit Peterborough Utd on Sunday 2nd February, kick off 2 pm hoping to build on their recent positive performances.
  8. With a crap defence in front of him it was hardly surprising.
  9. Stuart has certainly turned the Notts County fortunes around with the side that he has helped to build. The eight game form table sees Notts head the table with six wins out of eight & only one defeat. A side that wishes to challenge for promotion needs to have a mean defence & eleven clean sheets so far this season is testament to a side that is clearly made up for the challenge. The three players that have been brought in coupled with players coming back from injury have strengthened the squad too. It's going to be an exciting run in to the end of the season for every Notts supporter. There is great optimism in the air for Notts chances of getting promotion.
  10. I think that it will be inevitable that if Notts get promoted, they will be in the market for several players of a higher level. We have seen this happen with clubs that have been promoted to league one. Of course the wage bill will go up as well.
  11. Things seem to have gone a little quiet on the Reindorf front. Hope we get some news on the transfer front by the end of the week.
  12. I agree @liampie about him being treated unfairly. I wonder how he would have performed with our present defence and central midfield in front of him? I'm sure that he may have performed better. Some players do perform better when they are surrounded by good players.
  13. Not much time for Notts before the January transfer window closes. With just two senior goalkeepers at the Club it does leave Notts at risk if one or both their goalkeepers become injured. Notts could of course, bring in a goalkeeper in an emergency loan deal if they did lose a goalkeeper to injury, but they won't have much control in who they may get in.
  14. Pity that it didn't work out for Aiden at Notts. Hope it works out for him & he does find a suitable Club nearer his family home in the south west.
  15. Aidan Stone leaving Notts just leaves the Club with two senior goalkeepers.
  16. Aidan Stone’s contract has been mutually terminated to allow him to pursue opportunities closer to his family home in the south-west
  17. @liampie UEFA fined Chelsea €10million (£8.6m, $11m) for historical breaches of its Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. The organisation added that the fine settled the matter and Chelsea would not face any sporting sanctions.15 Jan 2025 The FA are yet to charge Chelsea for breaking FFP rules despite the above fine from UEFA. 18. A beautiful morning here. Not a cloud in the Sky. The sun is getting brighter too. Sad news from the US this morning with two aircraft colliding in mid air above Washington Airport overnight. Apparently a commercial Jet carrying 64 souls collided with an Army helicopter carrying 3 Army personnel. It appears that the wreckage fell into the Potomac river.
  19. Lincoln was a major political and economic centre for centuries. Medieval era: Lincoln was a major trading center and the capital of England's largest diocese. 17th–19th centuries: Lincoln was a wealthy town known for its wool trade Roman era: Lincoln was the capital of the Roman province of Flavia Caesariensis, which covered eastern England. The Romans called the city Lindum Colonia. Anglo-Saxon era: Lincoln became the capital of the Kingdom of Mercia. Boston & Kings Lynn were major historical ports, especially in the middle ages. 20. The top six clubs in English Football always seem to be untouchable from any possible sanctions that may be considered for possible wrongdoings. Any other club that steps out of line or even inadvertently breaks the rules, always seem to get almost instant justice, either by a points deduction or a large fine. I don't think that even a football regulator would be able to touch the untouchables.
  21. The thread wasn't about our recognised strikers, it was about players at the club such as defenders or midfielders that could fill in for the striking role if our strikers became injured. Does the team train for this possibility and which players could fill in as an emergency striker if necessary?
