  1. I agree with @Wheelbarrow repair man on some of his points but as I said previously, I think a down button would just open a can of worms. If a post hasn't been liked in a conversation or a debate I think that is enough to send a message. Let's be honest, the report function is used very sparingly on this board because 99.9% of the time there is no issue. I've only seen the vast majority of issues with the political threads that bring out lots of emotions, but political threads are now tucked away in its own sub forum. Again. If we can agree on words that should be avoided that could cause offence, I think that would solve any issues that any members may have.
  2. It will certainly cost Notts if they go for another striker. I'm also concerned about the status of Dan Crowley in January. His contract is up for renewal at the end of June 25. Notts need to be in a challenging position to ensure Dan stays, or alternatively, Notts may prefer to get a few quid for him rather than let him become a free agent. So Notts may be looking for an attacking midfielder, a striker & a quick wingback come January.
  3. Let me say that now Tuchel has been appointed. I wish him well & if he can deliver a major international trophy, then that would be a positive development. However, the whole point of having international tournaments is for a Country to win that tournament, with English players Managed by an English manager, or a Spanish team managed by a Spanish Manager. What people are forgetting is that an international team is trying to demonstrate that at that particular time, they are the best football team in the World that have been coached by the best coach in the World. It's a team effort. It would be a great showcase for an English coach, which would benefit all English coaches in the land if an English Coach won a World Cup. People think it's more important that the team wins, but the Head Coach/Manager is part of the team. So if England win big under Tuchel, can we really say that the England team has won big?I 'm not so sure. And to answer the question, I think it was a done deal.

  5. @Wheelbarrow repair man I certainly believe that there should be certain words that bring up an alert such as ludicrous, (Seriously in a condescending context) Any sort of comment that is posted to belittle, wind up or upset. Did you know you can hide topics that you don't want to see such as politics. You can also hide members you don't want to converse with Personally, I wouldn't hide anyone because you don't see any threads they've started on your Dashboard.
  6. It maybe still more than 10 weeks to the January transfer window, but it could be a very important window for Notts County. Of course, lots can happen in 10 weeks or more. Notts will be hoping to remain in the promotion mix after the new year with the squad they have. Notts should hopefully get a boost with the return of Jones, Edwards & Grant in January too. So knowing what we know now, with 11 games of the season gone, in which areas do PON members believe that the Notts squad need strengthening, or do Notts need to be strengthened during the January window?
  7. @Fan of Big Tone During the days of Windows 98 PC's and dial up internet there used to be holiday auction sites, where you could bid for holidays that were unsold & needed to be sold off These auction sites allowed you to bid on foreign holidays & if you timed it right you could get a great bargain, such as all inclusive holidays for less than half price, sometimes even less than that. Had some great holidays by that method, but I think those sites are now discontinued. But it was good while it lasted.

  11. I think that January is a big month in the season, where teams strengthen their squad & players leave. I think that the January transfer window will be a big window for Notts. We know that Notts certainly need a new specialist striker, & someone with pace on the wings. Then there's Dan Crowley who has not yet extended his contract. Will Notts sell him in January before his contract ends? If so Notts will need another attacking midfielder.
  12. I personally don't think it is necessary to have a down button. If you don't agree with someone's post then you simply don't have to like it. The post will go unliked. Of course no one is going to agree on everything in this World or even in relation to Notts sometimes. But I think that having a down emoji would be a negative move. I think that a down button would just reduce debate, which we need to encourage, not discourage. What I would like to see is more engagement & debate on PON. We hardly ever see any debate on the Articles posted by PON news for instance
  13. I'm very pleased that the Club is supporting Cedwyn. I know that the club will ensure that Cedwyn gets all the support he needs.
  14. I think the consensus on social media is that McDonald will come into the back three at some point. Probably begin on the bench against Wimbledon. Abbott was tried out at right wing back and did well against Chesterfield, so there's another option for Stuart
  15. Jodi Jones. Out till at least January 2025. Curtis Edwards. Out till at least January 2025. Conor Grant.Knee Injury at least another 5 weeks out. Cedwyn Scott. Leave of Absence Lucas Ness. His work back to full fitness is being carefully managed.
  16. Woke up to an overcast morning once more. Looks like we are going to be affected by a named storm Ashley on Sunday & Monday. I used to travel abroad for my holidays quite a lot in my younger days. The Greek Islands, Crete, Corfu & particularly Kos were a favourite of mine. So we're the Canary Islands, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, particularly Lanzarote were a favourite too. In the late 60s visited Sweden, Denmark, & France with my parents In the 70s toured Spain by coach, visited the cities of Madrid, Teledo, Seville & Granada. Plus the city of Bilbao twice in the 1990s Loved Guernsey too, visited a couple of times in the late 80s In the 2000s visited the US several times to visit New York & Long Island I have visited most parts of the UK including the Isle of Wight & the Isle of Man. Nowadays I prefer to holiday in the UK. There are so many places I haven't seen & would like to visit, but would like to visit Ireland if I get the opportunity.
