  5. The Notts side to face Peterborough in the first half. Looks like Stuart is putting out a strong side to begin with.
  6. Good Morning all. A bit cooler this morning with cloud cover. Prepared dinner for later this afternoon. Looking forward to the Peterborough v Notts match and will be keeping an eye on the updates. TV and News a no no today, just going to take it easy this Saturday, and watch a DVD this evening.

  10. @Wheelbarrow repair man After becoming World number one in 2016, Andy started getting problems with his hip, & it got progressively worse, Andy was defeated in the Wimbledon quarter finals in 2017, when Andy's hip broke down. Andy thought he would have to retire after he was defeated in the 2018 Australian open, but later that year he had major hip surgery where his hip joint was resurfaced with metal, and this allowed him to carry on playing, but not to the level he once was, altough last year he managed to get back to 36 in the World. But his form and level started to falter, so much that this years Wimbledon would be his last and he would retire after the Olympics.

  13. Notts were always going to wait until the early bird renewal offer had ended before they decided on Macca. It's just good business sense. Would Macca leaving have made a difference to me? NO because I support the Club, & the Club comes first before any individual player. I do think that Macca leaving has had a detrimental effect on the recruitment of new players though.
  14. @Wheelbarrow repair man I think we can safely say that we lost because Stuart drastically changed the side. I wonder why Stuart can't change the personnel a few at a time in the second half so that the side is affected so much. My question would be, How can one seriously find out the worth of a trialist if he isn't playing within a side full of first teamers?
  15. I think the most famous, and also the song I like the most in an advert, was the song that the New Seekers sang in the 70s, that was called I'd like to teach the World to sing, modified to include Coca Cola.
  16. Andy Murray has announced his retirement from Tennis after losing in the Quarter Finals of the Olympic Games Doubles event. Andy Murray certainly put British Tennis back on the map after many years of being in the doldrums. What a record Andy has. A record to be proud of. Andy Murray could arguably be described as Britain's best ever Sportsman, but do PON members agree with that opinion, or is there someone else more deserving?
  17. @Chris it's a good side that you have posted there. I just worry about getting exposed down the flanks. It is a fascinating conundrum for Maynard to solve where Nemane and Jones are concerned. They are both clearly lacking in the defensive area but are so good going forward & create many chances, as well as scoring themselves. I do believe that this season Stuart has to use his squad to the full and select his team, shape and tactics according to who the opposition is. Notts have got to aim at only conceding between 50 to 55 goals this season as a maximum, if they are to challenge for promotion. This means Notts will have to be much more defensive minded this season compared to the season just gone. That could mean either Nemane or Jones on the subs bench on occasions.
  18. @Wheelbarrow repair man Have we got an update on the Snus in football? I'll have a look and see what I can find and maybe resurrect your original thread as it's a subject that needs to be talked about.
  19. @Wheelbarrow repair man I agree. I don't understand why Notts can't play a flat back four as in olden days with two traditional wingers supplying to he crosses for Jatta. I just think a 4,3,3 or a 4,5,2 would work for Notts. Just play a traditional English game, using all different tactics to get the ball upfield. Just get the ball in the box as quickly as possible.
