  1. This is really good news for our club. It's just like having a new signing. James has lots of talent and potentially can go far in the game.
  2. Congrats to James who has signed professional terms with Notts County.
  3. Great analysis this. I'm sure that Stuart will be working on strengthening our defence by small tactical changes & modifying the shape when going forward to avoid being exploited on the break. The conundrum will be, balancing our threat in attack, & not losing that potency, with reducing our defensive frailties. Toms analysis demonstrates how this could be done. It is going to be fascinating to see if Stuart can solve this conundrum to cement our place in the playoffs.
  4. Tom Williams has a very good tactical analysis of how a Notts team under Stuart Maynard could shape up.
  5. Into the third round of the Australian Open mixed doubles. Neal Skupski & Desire Krawczyk.
  6. Rain on the way & high winds, but much milder than late.
  7. Now that brings back memories for me 25 years ago, wall to wall sunshine, visiting the extinct volcano. I thinks that's a great idea. Will cheer us up no end????????
  8. Just wait till summer. Sunshine all the way. Endless blue sky. Well we can always hope.????
  9. Latest Weather forecast from the MET Office.
  10. I have no problem with the match being called off, it gives the new Head Coach another week to prepare for Barrow. And the results today have gone Notts way too. Wrexham and Barrow lost today.
  11. The big thaw begins.
  12. Storm Isha is on its way. Keep safe.
  13. Why did you join prideofnottingham.co.uk? I found PON on twitter on the Notts County hashtag. I checked the site out on a few visits and liked what I saw, the great content, the banter, & the interesting reading, so I decided to join. What is your main highlight of being a member? I really like the content that is being put out every day. There's always something different to discuss with and exchange opinions with members in a respectful way, that you largely don't get on X & Facebook much of the time. How much have you seen PoN grow during your time? I haven't been here very long, however I have seen an uptick in the number of visitors since the new year. That bodes well for potential new members. As a community, what would you say are the three core values to PoN and why? When I joined PON I was given a really nice welcome by many members and I realised almost immediately that I was joining a good Community of people all united by their love of our club. And as a Community I have already seen respect, tolerance and understanding between the members, mixed with fun, banter, & lively debate. So I would say those are my three core values for this Community, because I've seen it.
  14. Get your brollies out for the weekend.
  15. This was an excellent performance by Cameron to beat Casper Ruud in 4 sets. Cam has gone through a disappointing 2023 where he was regularly beaten by players ranked below him, but this win today could lead to much better things for Cam this year & will do much to regain his confidence. Getting to the final 16 of a slam is always going to be big and Cam has the ability to go even further.
  16. Cam Norrie reaches the fourth round of the Australian Open for the first time. Well done Cam.
  17. Lloyd Glasspool & his partner battle through to third round of men's doubles. Into the 2nd round of the mixed doubles for Neil Skupski & Desire Krawczyk.
  18. I do like to hear Mark Stallard as a summariser on BBC Notts County commentaries. He adds passion, personality, knowledge and entertaining banter to those commentaries, & he was the perfect foil for Charlie Slater as they took us through our promotion season.
  19. Latest from the MET Office. Rain spreading east on Saturday.
  20. It was so sad that the original Macclesfield Town came upon hard times and was unfortunately wound up in Sept 2020. A phoenix club Macclesfield FC, rose from the ashes and began life in the North West Counties Premier Division, the fifth step of the National League system, in August 2021, and currently competes in the Northern Premier League following two successive promotions. It's great to see Macclesfield coming back and they can still dream of returning to league status one day.
  21. I've been very impressed with Jim over the last few weeks since Luke left. The management showed great confidence in Jim to step in and Jim stepped up to the plate & acted in such a professional way. It was clear that the players have great respect For him too. I was particularly impressed by the way Jim handled the interviews, where he demonstrated that he had a clear vision and plan for what he wanted to do while in charge. When Jim's playing career comes to an end, I believe he will have a future in football Management.
  22. It's so refreshing for players and fans, that we have a club captain in Kyle who is ready and able to lead by example and guide the players in what is always a tumultuous time when a Manager/ Head Coach leaves. Experience and commonsense is always important at this time too, & Kyle has an abundance of that. Kyle's leadership is going to be very important as the team has to transition to the new coaching methods, ways, tactics & system of play. And Kyle is already doing just that.
  23. Update from the Met Office.
