  1. Really liked your replies @theMagpies & @Benji They mirror my sentiments too. The recruiters at Notts have to be given a big thumbs up too, for the players they have recruited over the last 12 months. They've played a blinder.
  2. A recurring theme with our new players is the passion and love they have for this club and Dan is no different. Ten goals from Dan playing from midfield halfway through the season is a good number. Ruben is Ruben but Dan has filled his shoes very well since he came into the side. May Dan's good form continue because he plays an important roll in our side.
  3. I agree with the sentiments on this thread. We are blessed to have the skills and experience of John Bostock at Notts. He still has the skill well above league 2 level.
  4. We all know what Adam is capable of and he has a knack for being in the right place at the right time to score goals. Now that we are in league 2 everyone has had to step up to the higher level. It will remain to be seen if Adam will be able to force himself into the starting 11 on a regular basis in 2024.
  5. I praise Junior for his team ethic and commitment. He will be an excellent squad player for us and he has a continuing opportunity to force himself into the starting line up.
  6. I agree @Sir Magpie It will be fascinating tracking his development at the club. Lewis as loads of potential, and I believe he will soon cement his place in the side.
  7. Great stuff @ARLukomski you captured the atmosphere so well.Vlogs such as yours are so important for Notts fans who cannot get to away matches.
  8. @ARLukomski Being a newbie, I've just come across your excellent vlog of the big day in May. It brought back so many great memories of that momentus day. The feeling that we all experience when our side is promoted never changes down the ages. From 1971 to 2023 the elation is exactly the same. The only change of course is that we can share these feelings & experiences by all this new technology. Hope we can experience the same at this season's end.
  9. Thanks for another great read. Well done. I've enjoyed reading all of these articles. Would be great to have more articles about our players of the past via Notts Alumni.
  10. Great thread regarding Matt Palmer and I agree with what has been said We are now at the back end of December as I write this, and unfortunately, we've lost Matt to injury. Matt has been missed since he became injured & his continued absence only demonstrates how valuable he is too us. It will be hard to replace him with someone of similar stature.
  11. This is a brilliant write up regarding Jodi by Les Bradd. I don't think I can add much more to what has already been said, by every contributor on this very good thread. What I will add is my hope that Jodi remains injury free & just carries on playing how he is playing, because he's becoming a key player for us.
  12. Good article on Luke Rodgers. We had a great squad which won the league. If things had been different he, like many others in that squad, would have stayed and who knows where we had been now?
  13. Great Article on Kasper. He was massive in goal for us in that unforgettable promotion year If things had been different, I'm sure Kasper would have spent a few more seasons with us helping us to get back to the top tier of English football, but it wasn't to be. I'd take him right now to bolster our defence, because I believe he really was colossal in between those sticks.
  14. Another great article about a Notts great. He's one of our own. Imagine 'Killer' being at the heart of our defence right now? We would be unstoppable in this league
  15. Arthur was another legend who played under Jimmy Sirrel in his great sides.
  16. Danny Allsopp was an excellent striker for us during a relatively quiet period for our club
  17. Brian Stubbs, one of our own: Another fantastic player and yet another Notts legend that helped Notts go from the 4th to the Ist Division. Have fond memories of watching him play. Just imagine if we had Brian and David playing in defence for us now under Luke.
  18. Informative article once again. @Joe JonesIt is always interesting to read how the careers of Notts players panned out. Dave Watson began and ended his footballing career with Notts County. Interestingly, one of a number of players that began their career as a forward but became an established international defender for England.
  19. Agree with you @Countyman No game in league 2 is easy, however we have a great opportunity to win our next 4 matches before we meet Stockport at home.
  20. He was a good player for Notts and another player who was part of our success story in our rise to the old first division.
  21. I am really enjoying reading these Notts Alumni articles. A lot of work has gone into them. Jonathan was a good player for Notts and his loan periods with our club just demonstrates how the loan system can work. And his debut hat trick was really something.
  22. Great Article about Ian Richardson. Ian was very loyal to our club when many would have moved on. He's a true hero to our club.
  23. A great player who is one of our own. What great times this club had and Mark had a big part to play in that success too.
  24. Another enjoyable read from this excellent thread. Donald was another player that played an important contribution to Notts County success over the years.
