  1. Stuart Maynard's definitely in charge for Saturday.
  2. UK Storm warning, danger to life.
  3. Latest from weather watch. Met office has named Storm Isha that will hit the UK at the weekend. Stay safe
  4. Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid are Melbourne Wheelchair Open Champions. Congratulations to both.
  5. The weather is on the change for the UK leading up to the weekend with milder air from the west. Good news for sport Batten down the hatches, strong winds forecast and possibly stormy conditions for Sunday & Monday.
  6. It's a winning start for Joe Salisbury and Heather Watson in the mixed doubles. Neil Skupski and his partner Santiago Gonzalez win to reach the third round of the Men's doubles.
  7. Lloyd Glasspool and his partner have a great win in the mixed doubles Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram win to force their way through to the third round of the men's doubles.
  8. Now that Stuart Maynard has been named as Head Coach, I think that the game on Saturday against Stockport will be a whole new ball game. We all talk about the new Gaffer bounce and it will be as true as ever on Saturday. We played one of our best games of the season at Stockport a few weeks ago and Notts were unlucky not to come away with a draw being the best side on the day. If we play on Saturday like we did in that game, for our new Gaffer, & with a big crowd behind them, I think we can pull off a win.
  9. So Cam Norrie is the last Brit in the Singles draw. He plays 12th seed Ruud in the 3rd round. It will be a tough match for Cam as his recent form hasn't been good and he's already had two tough matches to contend with to get this far I believe the best chance for Brit success will come in the men's Doubles with Salisbury and Ram who won the title in 2020. Will continue to keep you up to date with Brit results.
  10. I'm really heartened by this appointment. Stuart is one of those Head Coaches that I believe is destined for big things in the game. He comes with an excellent CV with his success at Wealdstone. Notts have a head Coach that will continue with the footballing phylosophy that has served Notts so well and attracted plenty of plaudits from the Football community. I listened to his first interview as Notts Head Coach and he came across as a determined, confident & articulate young man. I believe Notts will be in good hands with Stuart & his Coaching team.
  11. The Brits always have a fascination for the Weather, we talk about it, we discuss it or we laugh and cry about it. Here's a thread which will keep members and visitors to our community up to date about our ever changing weather. Get the latest forecast here & simply discuss it if you feel the need to. So here's the latest on the UK Weather front.
  12. Alfie Hewett into the Wheelchair Australian Open Final.
  13. The only thing I would say about this Wrexham story is that again, it is symptomatic about the current problem in our domestic football, the haves' and the have nots' That's why there should be a Cap on turnover for each of the four top tier Leagues.
  14. Brit watch summing up the day. Cameron Norrie won his 2nd round match to advance to the 3rd round, however, Katie Boulter, Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu lost their 2nd round matches today leaving Norrie the only Brit left in the Singles.
  15. A win for Henry Patten and his Partner in the Australian Open Men's Doubles.
  16. Cam Norrie comes from 2 sets down to reach the 3rd Round.
  17. Andy had a big hip problem at the end of 2016 and it got worse in 2017. He had two operations the last one being resurfacing of his hip. Normally this would have been career ending, but Andy proved them all wrong. His comeback has been fraught with setbacks but he managed to get back up to the middle forties in the rankings, but he is slower than at his peak and this has not helped him. I think he'll retire after Wimbledon this year.
  18. I don't think Jim is going to make any changes to the side that drew 5:5 with Grimsby unless he is forced to do so by injury. The side will probably line up in a similar formation & the style of play will not alter. Stockport do leak a few goals so I'm confident we can score a few, it's just how many we concede at the other end concerns me Personally, I believe that Notts should be more cautious this game, because Stockport is another level above Grimsby, but I'm sure that the Notts way of playing "total football" will continue. I'm hoping for a score draw here I think that will be a good result on Saturday, if the game goes ahead as there are freezing conditions around at the moment. I'm going for 2:2 result.
  19. Joe Salisbury and his partner up and running at the Australian Open.
  20. Very good read. I would abolish VAR except goal line technology & a check on whether a sending off is correct or not, because sending a person off changes the game. I agree about the renaming the league Back to Division 1 to 4. Parachute payments should be abolished too. Clubs should not be owned by Countries either There should be a Cap on total turnover with different levels for each of the four divisions, to even things up. Champions league to go back to the old format too. ie, Champions only.
  21. I remember the Cup run well. Really thought we would beat Wycombe but it wasn't to be, but we did come close and with a bit more luck we may have progressed further.
  22. Sorry @NottsCountyKev can't help you with that one
  23. Lucy joins fellow Brits in the Wheelchair Singles Quarter Finals at Australian Open.
