  1. I think your right Robbie in regards to Macca and Jodi plus Dan Crowley could be added to the mix, if not this off season perhaps next. I think that's why Notts have bought Jatta, hoping he'll score 20 goals a season to help cover for Macca departure. The trouble is how do Notts replace Jodi ?
  2. It's just like watching Jodi Jones dance his way past three defenders, put a ball in the box for Macca to score. How many times as Messi set up up four assists in one match? You can't tell me the MSL is anywhere as good as the Football in England. Despite ageing Super stars looking for a last big pay check.
  3. How much would it cost? Who would pay for it, the EFL or would the club have to cover the cost? Can you imagine how many times a Referee would have to look at a decision in the Lower Leagues, matches could last up to a couple of hours.
  4. You know when your Love Life gone down the drain, when your making Love to your wife and she puts the Ash tray in the middle of your back. My mate Danny he's a bit of a Lad, spent his life in and out of prison, anyway I met him in a pub the other night, he told me he 'd just robbed a place and he had two pictures in the boot of his car, one worth Β£1.7 million and one worthΒ£1.9 million, would I like to see them. Yeah Ok I said. In the car park he open's his car boot and I had a look. Danny I said you've robbed an Estate Agents. I went to the Doctor's and he asked for a stool sample, so I've enrolled in a basic woodworking class, the Doc did looked concerned when I said it will probably take a couple of months for me to produce. I'm currently studying my families history. One of my Great Great Uncles knew, the exact day he was going to die. A judge told him.
  5. The Wife comes in after day out Hi Sweetheart Did You Miss Me ? She asked With Every Bullet So Far, I replied I went to the Headquarters of the PDSA, it's such a Tiny Place, you couldn't Swing A Cat round. If the actress Whoopi Goldberg married the Master of Horror Peter Cushing. She'd be known as Whoopi Cushing. My Wife and I were in a restaurant waiting to be served, across the way sat a woman on her own I think she was waiting for someone. Suddenly the woman Farted it was very loud and all the other customers heard it. She turned to the waiter and said Stop That. He looked at her and said Madame which way did it go? I remember the First Time I Ever Saw My Wife. She was outside a shop picking her teeth. Then she went in and Bought Them.
  6. Thanks for your thoughts fellow Fans, there are some good points in all your replies and hopefully more Magpie followers will join the debate. Regarding Lewis and Jodi , Lewis was coming to the end of his contract (I believe) and his loan was an ideal way for him to impress at Notts. And Jodi it would seem nobody would give the lad a chance after his A.C.L. injury and such a long time out of the game, it was a stroke of genius by the Notts recruitment team, to see what a fully Fit Jodi Jones could do for Notts and Boy as it paid off Big Time. The Main thing I have against loans is the good loan players benefit Notts in the short term, while Home Grown Talent could be there for a few seasons.
  7. Over the forty years I've been following the Magpies, the club have had some good, some bad and some indifferent loan players, and to be honest I wasn't bothered about it at first. However, over the years there have been some loan players who have pulled on a Notts Shirt and have stood out for me, namely, Jack Grealish, Callum McGregor from 2013 and Jorge Grant and Ryan Yates from 2017. I remember Grealish's home League debut, I believe it was against Tranmere Rovers (I stand to be corrected) and the only way the grizzled veteran defenders could stop this kid was to kick trip or stamp on him. However, most of the time opposition players couldn't get near him, and even at time it was clear young Jack had a big future ahead of him. Which has been proven over the following years, England International and a full Trophy Cabinet with Manchester City. Callum McGregor is another talented player who did wonders for Notts, in his loan period he netted 14 goals in all competitions. He also went on to win International Honours this time with Scotland. His Trophy Cabinet with Celtic is bursting at the seams. Jorge Grant and Ryan Yates both came from over the Trent, and both put in some excellent performances in the Black & White Stripes. When Yates was in the team it seemed to bring out the best in Grant, but when Yates was recalled to Forest it seemed to me he lost some of his spark or edge. As of 2024, Grant is at Hearts while Yates still plays for the Reds. Notts County will undoubtedly reap the benefits from these four types of loan acquisitions. The Bad comes about when players are recalled by their parent club in January as in the case of Ryan Yates. This call back to the City Ground caused Bad Blood between the Magpies and Reds. Things have been patched up(?) But (I don't think) another young Forest player has come over the Trent since. The thing for me is, are loans hindering the progress of young Notts players? There are a number of youth players out on loan, playing as it's said Men's Football. But shouldn't the Notts coaching staff be looking to bring these players into the senior squad? Do they hope to play in the first team?!? It may be disheartening for young players being continually loaned out to different clubs season after season, without really being given the chance to play for the first team. After all, I believe (and I stand to be corrected) Curtis Thompson was the last Notts player to come through the ranks and hold down a regular first team place at the Lane. And finally, of course Jodi Jones and Lewis Macari were also loan signings, but in my opinion their circumstances were different. What do you think, fellow Notts fans? What are the advantages and disadvantages of loaning a player? Notts County's head coach Stuart Maynard has given his thoughts on the upcoming game against Crewe Alexandra. 8. I'm in full agreement liampie, there are lots of not only Notts fans that can't stand for the full 90, due to age or disabilities and these Fans shouldn't have their view impeded nor suffer ridicule from more able bodied Fans. Come on Guys remember you to will be Old too one day. And think on this would you like some grotty Herbert giving your old Dad/Mum or Grandad/Nan a hard time because he/she can't stand ?
  9. Maybe Perhaps, But if Notts do get into the playoffs would it really benefit the club as a whole? Yes it would give the Fans extra game(s) to watch, but if the Magpies lose and lose Badly, how will this reflect on Stuart Maynard and the rest of his coaching staff ? Lets be honest Notts aren't ready for League 1, an off season where new players better players come in to make an impact to push on and make Notts a force to be reckoned within this League next season is the key for the Magpies future.
  10. Notts must win this game. The Magpies have already lost to many matches on home soil and another defeat just wont do. If Notts do loose then in some quarters of the Notts so called fan base will want to pour more scorn on Stuart Maynard, and the more, the team looses the more the band of Anti Maynard Fans will grow. The biggest problem at Notts is over the last 18 months Magpie Fans have been used to the team winning matches, now in the world of the EFL Notts are finding out that the tactics that held them in good stead in the National league Do Not Work in League 2. Maynard is doing his best and the defence is doing better, but winning matches I'm afraid is the Be All and End All in this League.
  11. I walked past this sign which states Murphy's Tool Works. So does mine but I don't go around Bragging about it. I knew this chap who had a little Yorkshire Terrier. He took that dog with him everywhere he even took it hand gliding with him, he'd put the dog between his knees. And you thought Bird droppings were Bad for Your Car. Police Notice. The Man who steals T Shirt in Size Order, is Still At Large. I've bough this Book called The History of Glue. I just Can't Put It Down.
  12. My Dad's sister came over and was spinning around in circles. I thought Oh My Giddy Aunt. Sticker on the reverse of bottled water. This water comes from a Scandinavian Glacier Two Million Years Old. Filtered Trough Calcium and Limestone over a period of Many Thousands of Years. To Bring You This Naturel Mineral Water. Best Before June 2024. My Mates teenage daughter thinks she knows Everything. Him and his wife are starting to regret calling her Alexa. The Man who invented Cats Eyes for the middle of the road, got the idea when the headlights of his car reflected in the eyes of a Cat walking towards him, if the Cat had been walking away he would have invented the Pencil Sharpener.
  13. Welcome welcome Truro Pie, I'm fairly new to this site as well and have been warmly welcomed by all the Notts Fans on here. Truro with that being in Cornwall I thought you'd be more interested in Pasties than Pies. HA HA.
  14. I wonder how long it will before the Looney Left, start bleating on about how UK Swimming is to White?
  15. I lost my hair when I was 16. What a Game of Cards that was. So there I was in the starting blocks for 100 metres Rice Pudding race, waiting for the starter to Say Go My mate went to the barber's and asked for some highlights , the barber gave him a video of old hair cuts. When I was young I moved into this house full of John Lennon impressionists. Imagine All The People.
  16. Ever since LW left the Lane, I've been watching Swansea's results and he's certainly having a Baptism of Fire. Lots of Fans seem to be asking if he'll be given time at Swansea, I don't think he will from what I've read from Swansea fans before or just after it was confirmed LW would be their new manager is that the Board at Swansea don't have a clue about running a Football Club and aren't very understanding regarding giving a New Coach time. And hand on heart , how many Notts Fans were starting to have doubts regarding Williams after the results the Magpies were getting before he left for South Wales. In some quarters Stuart Maynard has gotten a lot of Stick from so called Fans, but think on this Maynard's first few matches have been against the top sides in League 2, and who is to say Williams results would have been any better had he stayed at the Lane?
  17. So this blond goes to the Doctor's and says, It's about those Birth Control Pills you gave me. Yes what about them asks the Doc. Well replies the blond they keep falling out. Greenacres, a home for retired Gentlefolk was a boring place, until one old girl decides to liven things up by running Naked over the home's lawns. Two old chaps sitting in deck chairs watch her, the first chap says Good heavens Charles what on earth was Penelope wearing? I couldn't possibly say George, but what ever it was needed a Damn Good Ironing. People in Dubai don't like the Flintstones, but people in Abu Dhabi Do. I don't like Dolphins. Their just too Clicky for me.
  18. Personally I think once Tiernan Brooks loan spell with Rochdale is over, he should be given a chance to stake a claim in the Notts Squad next season.
  19. Watched the extended highlights on You Tube. Watching Didzy's so called hand ball I thought the ball hit him in the chest, so the goal should have stood, but that's football as they say. I think Didzy needs a rest, he leaves all he's got on the pitch every game, so getting Jatta up to speed is a must. Like fellow fans I was surprised that Macari didn't start he had an excellent game at Newport. Nice to see the defence starting to tighten up, but Notts still need a couple more defenders. And a Leader on the pitch, something I don't think the Magpies have had since Michael Doyle.
  20. My God son has a new girlfriend, she has a safety pin through her eyebrow, I didn't know your eyebrow could fall off. I went to my Doctor's for a urine sample. I got 3 gallons for a quid. I met this beautiful young lady in a bar. I asked Are you a model? No I'm full scale she stated, I said you have the most amazing eyes, it fact I could live in your eyes. She replied You'd be right at home, I've got a Sty in one of them. Erik Ten Hag rings up Pep at Man City, and says We're not having as much success as you Pep what's your secret? Well says Pep in training I get Ten Dustbins with rocks in the bottom and set them up 4-3-3. Then I get my players to dribble around the dustbins, then I get them to kick a ball at the dustbins, and the balls come off at different angles and I get the players, to control the ball with both feet their heads or chests. Give it a try Erik. Anyway a month later Pep rings Erik up and asks how's your lads doing with the Dustbins. Terrible says Erik the Dustbins beat us 4-0.
  21. I've just come across the blog Chris and when I read the title I Can See Clearly now, the first thing I thought about was the song, of the same name and I see you up loaded the song. Didn't he have another hit called There Are More Questions Than Answers, that was also the title of the Maths exam paper we got when I was at school. As this blog is from several years ago I hope you're now fully recovered and should problems arise again take comfort in your family and your friends, remember they'll always be there for you, come what may.
  22. I once went to a Fortune teller and said I wanted my palm read. She hit with a spanner. My mates Grandson as just turned four, but he can't say please in Spanish. That's Poor for four. WARNING The owners of the local Swimming Bath have put chemicals in the water, so if a bloke has a wee the water goes dark blue and if a woman has a wee the water goes pink. I was watching this bloke and his wife swimming in the pool. It was like watching the Red Arrows. I did a shift in my mate Health Shop the other day, this bloke comes in and says Evening Primrose Oil, I said Oi it's Wheelbarrow repairman too you. I carried on stacking the lower shelves, Soya Chunk he says, Well you shouldn't have been looking I replied. I'm a Vegan he says do you know what a Vegan is? Of course I know what a Vegan is, Mr Spock was me favourite character in Star Trek, must think I'm stupid or something.
  23. Is there anything Macca can't do? I expect to see him keeping goal sometime this season lol
  24. And to think there are and I use the term loosely certain fans calling for Stuart Maynard to be sacked??? After last nights performance I think the Gaffer is slowly getting to grips with his job and getting across what he wants his players to do, which will take Time and if he tries something which doesn't work, he drops it and isn't worried about trying some new which may work.
  25. Well Robbie lets hope the Owners Notts CEO the recruitment team and Stuart Maynard read the Fans Comments on this site. From what I've seen since joining PON a short time ago there's an awful lot of sense written by the Magpies faithful.
