  1. A fair point on the National League Dangerous Sausage. I think when Notts were in that League they also had the Fire Power to get themselves out of Trouble, if the need arose and I will say a vast majority of teams in the National League were Semi- Professional at best.
  2. One Last Thing Notts Regarding this evening match. Data doesn't win Football Matches Goals do, the Magpies can have 99.9% possession but if the other team have one more goal than the Magpies, then they get the 3 points.
  3. I'm afraid I can't fully agree with you Dangerous Sausage, Notts need to adapt better to League 2 football it really doesn't matter what the team is good at it's what suits the playing phycology of this League. After the diabolical result at Sutton on opening day Notts kicked into gear and at one time were top of the League, however the way Notts play has been sussed out by other clubs and all they need to do is sit back and wait for a mistake from the midfield or defence, which comes far to often and the mistake is punished usually with a goal for the opposition. All 11 players come back to defend and what happens ? They get in each others way, and the team is punished. The times this season I've seen Macca run from a defensive position, and should the keeper send a long ball over the top he'd be clear on goal with only a defender and keeper to beat but what happens? The keeper holds on to the ball allowing the opposition to get back in numbers then the Keeper and Defender play like the Chuckle Brothers To Me To You, To Me To You. Plus how many times have we seen a Notts defender fail to close down an attacking player? Or how many times instead of having a clear shot at goal does a Notts player pass the ball and the attack is broken up. I'm Sorry but Notts need to be good at other plays on the pitch Not Just What Stood Them In Good Stead in the National League, Notts aren't in that League Anymore.
  4. To true Robbie. If the Magpies have to Win Ugly then Win Ugly. It doesn't matter how the goals are scored a break away a penalty or if the ball comes off Macca's backside 3 points is what counts.
  5. Looking out of my window I can see it's raining. Next Sport. Sorry couldn't resist.
  6. You are so right Robbie, the lack of a plan B is also major worry, we the Fans can see this why can't the Coaching staff? That may be a little Harsh, so why didn't the recruitment staff see it? How many times have Fans through different platform stated Notts need defenders, this Tippy Tappy football as I call it, is so not working in League 2 . Just because one type of Football works in one League it doesn't mean it will work in a higher one. Notts must be able to adapt to the new leagues playing system or they will Struggle and continue to Struggle which will result in a lack of confidence through out the Entire Notts Squad, which will lead to further poor results and Fed Up Fans will find other things to do on a Saturday afternoon.
  7. So I said to my mate Dave, I'm going to open a theatre. Are you having me on he asked. I said well I give you an audition, but I can't promise you anything. There was a fourteen foot Anaconda hanging out of my letter box this morning. I reckon there was a mix up at Amazon. I love Fun fair food, candy floss toffee apples and those boil in the bag Gold Fish. I went into a Jewellers and said I'd like to buy a watch please, the Assistant said Analogue? No just the watch. I had a dream the other night, I was was cutting carrots with the Grim Reaper. Dicing with Death. W.W.W. Conjunctivitis. com. There's a site for sore eyes. You know when your half way through eating a horse, do you ever think, Maybe I wasn't as hungry as I first thought I was. I'm here all week. With Apologies to anyone who as already told any of the above jokes.
  8. Thankyou Fan of Big Tone and Super Ram. I'll let you into a secret I didn't really want to be a Wheelbarrow Repair man. I wanted to be a Lumberjack!! I'm off for my Brekkie now and it's Spam Spam Spam and Spam. Oh No I hear you cry N
  9. It will be a tough match and if Notts get something out of it then that will be something for the Magpies to build on. Hand on heart 2-0 Newport. Reading fellow Fans comments I think they are right that certain players need to be rested and the formation needs to be changed around. I don't think Macca should be left up front on his own, maybe give Junior an outing along side him. It's about time the on loan keeper is is given a game, I'm sorry I don't like to single out players but Stone does worry me, he's made a couple of good saves in recent matches, but overall I'd sooner have someone else between the sticks. Notts need to get back to winning ways and get out of this slump, but unfortunately I can't see it happening in the next couple of matches.
  10. Right where do I start Super Ram and all other people who want to know a bit about me. Firstly I know all the Derby players in Super Ram's picture of the Good O'le Days. John O'Hare, Kevin Hector Alan Hinton and Dave McKay. What are you thinking, is he really a Rams fan, pretending to be a Magpie? Well I must admit I do have a soft spot for Derby, I was never a regular at the Baseball Ground, but went on a few occasions and may I be forgiven I even went to that place across the Trent. Just the once mind, it was against Arsenal the year the gunners did the Double 1971/72 I think, the Red Dogs got beat 3-0 It was in the 1980's when I got in with this young Lady, (now my wife) who unbeknown to me was a Notts County Fan, and using all her feminine ways to seduce me into becoming a Notts Fan. Which of course is a load of Rubbish, but it sounds better than just saying I once brought my eldest son to Meadow Lane with a Free match day ticket from his school. I came along got hooked on this team of battlers an excellent friendly fans and I've been coming to the Lane for just over 40 years, with both my Sons, Father in Law and Brother in law, not forgetting her in doors. Through all the Magpies ups and downs over that time. I do have a wacky sense of humour with Spike Milligan, the Goons and Monty Python being my favourite comedians. Know what I mean ? Nudge Nudge Wink Wink. I'll Say No More. And for all you Pies fans out there reading this, wondering am I Barmy? The answer is YES.
  11. Top Notch Jodi well deserved, and congratulations to Notts Recruitment for having the sight to see, the kind of player an injury free Jodi Jones could be. My only worry is another club higher up the football pyramid may come in for him during the off season.
  12. Greetings Guys and Gals whoops that doesn't sound quite right. Greetings Everybody thankyou for your warm welcome, I have commented on a couple issues on the platform and I look forward to engaging in some more Magpie Talk. To Global Moderators. Yes I'm a massive Monty Python Fan and admit that's where the idea for my handle (touch of the CB Radio there) comes from. You Pies.
  13. Watching last nights Abysmal Performance shows that Notts might end up struggling for the rest of the season, after today's results the Magpies are now 10th and the next two away matches it doesn't look like Notts will pick up any points. Newport won 3-0 away from home and Wrexham even though they were beaten today, I can't see Notts repeating that result. Lets face facts this type of possession football is Not the way forward for the Magpies everything needs to change, Fair enough it worked in the National League because a vast majority of the clubs in that League are semi professional at best. Notts are now being found out and results are affecting the confidence of the whole squad, it needs sorting out NOW, but it won't be Stuart Maynard will battle on till the end of the season employing the same game tactics and if the recent Notts results continue, how long before Fans start screaming for him to go? I can also see at least two of the present Notts first team leaving, Macca and Jodi Jones in the close season and maybe Dan Crowley will join them. So the club is going to face a massive upheaval before the start of the 2024/2025 season. This might sound negative to fellow Notts Fans on this platform, but it's the way I feel truly I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.
  14. It's No Good looking at the Magpies world, through Rose Tinted Glasses and lets be honest which Notts Fan wouldn't have taken the position Notts are in currently in the League at the moment at the start of the season? I've always thought a Top half finish and maybe a run at the playoffs would be a good season on Notts return to the EFL. However I think teams have sussed Notts out, with their tippy tappy football all teams do is wait for the Notts midfield or defence, to make a mistake which they do and the opposition jump on that mistake and it usually leads to a goal. I was very disappointed that the recruitment team didn't bring in any new defenders, this seems to be a major bug bear with a lot of Magpies Fans. The defence was suspect under our former coach and nothing has been done to rectify the situation. Notts got away with it last season because top teams in the National League were few and far between. Stuart Maynard as one hell of a job on his hands and on other platforms some fans are even calling for his head Now! I think the Gaffer's biggest problem is adapting from being a part time coach to a full time one, He may even benefit from a Director of Football being appointed by the Brothers to give him a helping hand say oh I don't know Neil Warnock.
  15. I think there needs to be a big shake up down the Lane this off season. This may sound controversial but to be honest , I think there are only a few of the current squad are up to playing at League 2 level. Cedwyn Scott deserves a new contract, John Bostock maybe but as another fan as said, he looks lost without Matty Palmer. And Luther deserves a new contract then given a run in the team next season to see how he shapes up. The rest sorry they need to be let go. I'd like to see Jim stay in some sort of coaching role, because in a couple of years or so I can see him in the Big Chair.
